What time do you finish work, wagie? @Matthew
7 minutes ago
Who lookin' to get their salad tossed tonight
<:sweat:558398774423191562>
What do I win?
<:30yo:589183955752845332>
The chance to try again
<:willshoot:447267819416190987>
@Matthew This song upsets me
whats up in world today
other than iran shooting down us toys over their water lul
most likely cause they know it was their fault and "save_face.exe" was activated
if fucking oil prices skyrocket again greece will convert to horses
Then the horse feed price will rise too
I think the horses will be grateful to be used for riding instead of fucking for once
<:pepewot:589100642820161551>
phil shouldnt affect us r-right?
Oil companies will use any excuse to raise prices
"Due to thunderstorms in cuba, prices will be raised..."
greedy shits
but here prices are over the top due to taxes as well
Wouldn't have happened if you had paid debts
yes pay debts https://usdebtclock.org/
2016 everyone like yeah my boy diesel sure is economical
๐
all this time and you didnt think better answer
Don't need one.
@Lefteris are you forgetting that diesel is about twice as efficient per unit of fuel as LPG
when will I be able to pay alex jones to be a voice actor?
He's said so much stuff that you can just cobble together whatever sentence you want like a vocaloid
he could seriously voice some good shit
kek
diesel should be exlusive to heavy duty vehicles like trucks who need that big torque boy imo mr german
cause your city may vary but ours is filled with euro 0 diesels that give cancer to whoever they drive by
i dont ship lpg that much but its combustion is clean af
LPG is pretty much dead in my country
Well it never really catched on
whats ur country dear
Frankreich
oh
well frankreich didnt have a problem with fuels until recently
and french made some good diesels so people were fine with them
It got pretty much out of hand if you put the yellow vest protests in the equation
yes "until recently"
Well even without it, diesel price makes it really not interesting
and the yellow vests was more of a political uprising waiting to happen
Yeah, I say that but it'd probably have happened for another reason, albeit a bit later
And now I'm glad I'm running on unleaded
Though I'm starting to look into EV
Because this price trend doesn't really looks like it's gonna change anytime soon
Blue is unleaded, Black is diesel, Red is the difference between the two of them
the new zoe looks really nice
The Zoe is shit
Pricewise
It got a really bad quality/price ratio
its cheap for the range it offers
Well it's more like it's almost the only one in that range
In France at least it's either cheaper but way smaller (C-Zero, Smart and such)
c-zero cute af
but really a only city car
like the smart
Or more expensive but bigger (Nissan Leaf, Opel and such)
I'd be fine with the C-Zero if it wasn't that old
It got 0 modern equipment
its from 2010 oh jeez
Yeah it's quite old even if you don't put it relatively to other EVs
lmao Zoe is ass
out of the few EVs I tried, Zoe didn't really offer ANYTHING
What do you mean by that?
at a slightly higher price you can get a Kia eNiro which is fucking loaded with options
Errrrr
Slightly?
@Mereck the interior looked like a 10 year old Renault, the materials, the build quality, everything
It's like almost 50% more expensive
isn't it like 35k vs 45k eur?
idk where you are but here nah
at least that's local pricing for Zoe vs eNiro
๐จ๐ฟ
Starting price for Zoรฉ in France is around 20k
(without any bonus)
Kia e-Niro is more like 35k
So sure it's better, but it's like... not "slightly" more expensive
As for me I was looking into the Leaf
But it's on par with that Kia
And I'm not about to fork that money
Also
this is just
I'm ok with buying second hand
ugh
Zoรฉ second hand is cheap, but Leaf isn't
new gen leaf?
I heard Leaf, even new gen, sadly has pretty serious battery degradation problems
If possible but even previous gen would be fine if it's in the more expensive models
which has to do with the way they're cooling batteries
Well shiet... it looked nice on the paper >_>
IIRC Nissan air cools them, where as most other EVs these days do liquid cooling
look up the issue I'm not entirely sure rn
but a 4 or something year old first gen Leaf would have 50% capacity
if only there was a market with aftermarket battery packs already
only then can EVs truly "bloom"
Apparently it's still air cooled on the new models
They just say it's "better prepared"
Not sure what that means
But then I'd probably be using this car for commute and short/medium length travels (< 100km)
if you can buy a 5 year old EV which used to have 300km range on paper (so like 250 realistically)
and put a brand new aftermarket battery pack inside which would raise that to 400km of real range
that would make EVs much more feasible for the average wagecuck
So I'm not that much concerned on battery issues unless it's very severe
well I'd expect the battery issues to become worse if you drive short distances, especially in summer
seeing as there wouldn't be enough air circulation to properly cool them but I'm no genius so what the hell do I know ???
I'd have thought the opposite?
Since longer running time -> more likely to pack more heat
as I said I'm <:brainlet:589104479887032330>
this car genuinely blew me away tho
for being a fucking Kia, even
Kia are nice
so much space inside, too. rear seats had crazy amount of leg room and it still has a massive trunk
both Kia and Hyundai progressed SO fucking hard in the past years
Never saw that many Kia in my country, but then, France, buying french car just because and getting raped by servicing is customary
>french
>getting raped
<:benis:239668961011040257>
also
>tfw I wasn't a big enough player at this event to be able to drive e-tron
sad
Well I can book for a tesla drive
There's a shop like 10 minutes (on foot) away from my workplace
hey, actually, since you're french
can you explain something to me
But that price...
Sure?
ONE QUESTION
**WHY DOES THIS EXIST**
Oh I forgot to tell you
I'm half asian
So I don't understand either
kek
I'm gonna say that's the reason
it's a TWO SEATER
It's gay af
if you want armrests, bring a passenger... his knees are your armrests
To be fair though there isn't much on the road except for very specific locations
it has NO fucking suspension WHATSOEVER
The only place you'd spot 'a lot' of them is central Paris
Because it's nice to ride there and it'll be less of a pain to park
our police uses it at the prague airport for transport inside the hallways lmao
But that's it
Wow
Well that's a decent usage of it I guess
which is why this one is full blown police colored
I didn't drive this luckily
but a colleague did
he said he went over a speed bump at 25kmh
and his passenger (one of the event dudes) hit his head on the ceiling
Hahaha
Looks fun to zip around in
also lol
one thing I will give to the Zoe, though - it had proper EV tyres
which meant that even at 100km/h, you barely heard road noise
whereas the Kia eNiro was equipped with "normal" tyres, and even at 90 already you could hear the tire "whizzing"
Yeah that's one of the selling point of the Zoรฉ, the whole "no noise inside" shit
on a highway it began to be annoying
but IMO you can really fix most of that with better tyres
But in all honesty though, right now it's still not that much interesting for me to buy an EV
Even second hand
this was fun too, a public beta test of Skoda Citigo EV
I had to sign an NDA to drive this lmao
suck my fucking balls, Skoda
I calculated an ROI (against a similar fuel operated vehicle) of like 5+ years
Never heard of this one, is it any good?
I'm gonna report u to skoda
back when I tested it, it was still unreleased officially and this was one of the like 6 cars produced for testing with companies who could potentially be customers
it also had no price tag and no real range estimates
but as a city-shitbox or a pizza delivery vehicle it would work extremely well
sadly the pricing is way too high imo
.
ล koda, a Czech automaker owned by Volkswagen, has unveiled today the Citigo iV, an all-electric city car that is expected to cost **less than $20,000.**
.
265 km (165 miles) on the WLTP cycle is expected to result in roughly 200 km (125 miles) of real-world range.
way too much for what it offers, IMO
The charging capacity is limited to 40 kW on a DC fast charger and itโs equipped with a 7.2 kW onboard charger.
Well if it can be less than 20k Euromarks here in France it's gonna be a real contender for the Zoรฉ
not with the range imo
IF
IF ONLY Skoda would've been able to price it under 15k for the base model
and they could've upped the range a bit
it would be great
Well the Zoรฉ is better but also way more expensive
And for people like me with a kinda short commute, even 150 (real) km of range is ok
And a lot of people here have that kind of commute length
@Matthew go on I dare you, the NDA was only related to talking about driving characteristics and interior design (hint: they literally ripped off the Volkswagen e-Up!, both in drivetrain and interior design)
Around big cities I mean
the final release is a bit different in interior design iirc
not even journalists could drive the skoda
everyone else except for Skoda and Audi at this event were like "well yeah, hop in and drive wherever you want"
so unless you live in a house and can have a charging station in your garage, it becomes worse
Oh, according to some french articles it's gonna be priced at less than 14k
is that with bonuses or something?
over here there's no incentive to buy EV
With
Without 20k
That's still decent
But they also say it's gonna feature fast charge
Not extra fast but still...
4h for a 80% charge
12h30 on a home plug lmao
How is that even that bad tho
yeah home plug is ridiculous
do you drive 300 miles a day
I mean sure, if you own a house and have a driveway or a garage, sure, build a wallbox
but if you don't this car is barely for you
even 4h for 80% at a mall is too long
who spends 4h at a mall lmao
In my case it shouldn't be a problem though
I can charge at my workplace and at home
But my main concern now is about how expensive are the options gonna be
there's no such infrastructure here lol
You can easily spend 4 hours at the mall here in Minneapolis
it's kinda big
It's still spotty, my company is one of the first to install those on a small/medium scale
either you charge at home or at malls. maybe 1% of company parking lots have their charging stations
@Matthew american malls are the size of european cities, I'm not even joking
Feels good not being third-world
huohh
kek skoda still didn't release interior photos of the Citigo
this is the regular ICE Citigo https://carwow-uk-wp-3.imgix.net/skoda-citigo-review-1-1-5.jpg
I think it could look a little bit like this when released: https://az749841.vo.msecnd.net/sitesencom/alv1/5182cf8f-44bf-46d3-84e4-833d06664fd5/scala-interior-08.a03b9288c6d8c47d19022e056243c3eb.fit-1450x760.jpg
