i found on reddit this comment: just joined the KZ ZST club and my first week with them was awful! Looks like the bundled brown cable now includes memory wire and after spending more on tips than I did on the IEM's themselves, i found that the memory wire was the biggest contributor to them coming out!

they must have changed their cables sometime ago

anyways i dislike the memory wire.. i have 3 dollar earphones with non-memory wire and they're much easier

But yeah, you just make a nick in the heat shrink on both sides, cut the memory wire with something near the end and pull it out with pliers

It won't come out of the connector end, so get it as close as possible or you'll be stabbing your ears

Also, the mic buttons on the ZS5 are totally useless with my pixel

Someone took apart the ZS5's and showed that they had one dynamic driver, and one armature that had no paths out to your ear and might just be there for show
