I also like Railway.
But I usually use Kozuka Gothic Pro Pr6N for minimalistic shit.

If I were you, I'd do the following:
Take out everything unnecessary, so you'll only have one RAM stick, no GPU (use iGPU), no HDDs or SSD and no unnecessary things plugged in (so only keyboard and/or mouse).
Then try booting some Linux distro from USB.

If everything works, plug things in one by one, until something starts to act up.

And when I say plug thing in one by one, obviously turn off your computer ... i presume you know that, but once I actually plugged in the power to my GPU, while the computer was still on... I fried the PSU.

I'm honestly trying to not panic, I don't have the money to repair any expensive parts
