I’m confused by ‘relax and take the pain’ and ‘of ourselves we can do nothing’... so which is it? Say you’re overweight and can’t eat right. Do you avoid food(relax) or do nothing and continue with the problem?

When you avoid(resist) food you are going to be drawn to it more (persist) you can try and will yourself to do it but that strain will become too great and you will relapse or worse replace that addiction with another.
What has worked for me is to become aware of what I’m doing. I’ve had moments where I caught myself unconscious of my actions and suddenly felt the urge for desire fall off of me.

Becoming aware of yourself and reality is like snapping out of a trance. It’s quite funny once you understand.

Those two phrases mean the same thing. When we are faced with our problems and life we must endure it and move through it, don’t get caught up over reacting and blow things out of proportion, everything will be just fine.

Of ourselves we can do nothing is a reminder that we are not god, and we should not get into our thoughts and judge ourselves, our situations and others. When we try to take control and will ourselves or resist reality we often make matters worse or never come to peace.
It’s no big deal, once you realize you are wrong you are on the right path.

Depends on what your studying

If your studying something that humans will always have a need for such an engineers, chemists, and programmers, you will be fine

If your studying something like history, which is fascinating, but has no real jobs in that feild, your setting yourself up for failure

Trades are in demand as well as there is always a need for plumbers and electricians, as every building and house needs water and power

But if you end up a warehouse worker, your are easily replaceable

So do a degree that is in high demand, like computer science, or do an in demand trade like plumbing, and you'll have a good life

But if you spend 4 years of time and money on an "African American studies" degree and end up working at the mall, your gonna have a miserable life

And end up screaming for socialism in America so the people who didn't fuck up and are successful can pay for your worthless self to live.

I agree, college has its place. But that place shouldn't be anywhere near as broad as it is right now. No real trade school/apprenticeship for Engineers and other sciences. Also it should be privatized, no federal input.
