Cardio after working out helps to flush the lactic acid(the burning sensation in your muscles) from your body.
I'm less sore the day after running than I would otherwise be.

SBD sleeves will add weight to your squat because they are made to help increase totals. Get them in a certain size and it can add like 50lbs
I use a pair from elitefts (where i got my lifting belt). They are nice and tight and warm but dont add as much bounce. They are also woven which is nice for the extra flexibility

SBD is best in my opinion. Or go with the STrong sleeves. They're both on the pricier side but the quality is phenomenal and they'll greatly reduce your risk of injury

Are you using the scale for bf%? That changes based on how hydrated you are so itโs not that accurate. Body Fat calipers are better

@Nick-NJ I weigh 153 right now. Iโm not following a program. I just have a set of adjustable dumbbells and a bench right now. I lift 3 times a week, rotating between muscle groups.
@NuclearReactionary Start recording your daily calories and weigh yourself to find your basline, then add approx. 300 calorie surplus to gain weight. If you are eating a caloric surplus you will gain weight. Track in an app like fitday. You also need to be following a program and recording your sets/weight so you can see that your progressing.
If you arent tracking your weight numbers and calorie numbers so you can adjust them and doing it by "feel" you likely wont make the progress you want.

Like @Brandon Ironside- ND said, you need a REAL program, one you can keep track of, and chart your improvements, and you need to eat more than you presently do.

Ok, dumb question. Is there a right time of day to weigh yourself or does it only matter that you do the same time every day?

Some people say once a week, in the morning
Weighing everyday is not only not a good gauge (weight naturally fluctuates from day to day which is not a reflection of your long-term progress) but is also a recipe for an unhealthy obsession with your weight, if you are prone to such things as body dysmorphia.
Just weigh in at the same time of day, once or twice a week,any time that works best for you, wearing the same amount of clothing each time. When I used to weigh myself (stopped because body dysmorphia) I would also take into account the state of my digestive system, but that might be veering on obsessive too.
Weighing in everyday just creates too much noise in the data set you are trying to observe. Once every week or two will show you good trends. Also use body fat calipers so you know that the weight you lose is fat or that the weight you are gaining is muscle.
Example: If you went on a bender the night previous youโre gonna weigh more and go โoh god, I need to change my dietโ and screw up
Just don't base your weight goals or diet on what you weigh that day
I'm a big proponent of weighing yourself every day so you have more data
So you know which days you've shit before weighing, drank the night before (degenerate), etc
As long as you don't freak out every time you look at the scale or base everything on your weight weighing yourself every day is fine
This is what most of my suppers look like. Put the fish in for 8 minutes and nuke the sweet potato for 3 minutes after poking holes in it.

Working out at the YMCA is such a mixed bag of whitepills and blackpills
on one hand, I see a lot of white kids and white families being active and being together

Per the osteopath I saw for an ankle sprain two years ago, soft tissue injuries actually take 3 months to fully heal. Come back to your usual activities very cautiously after six weeks. I would continue to wear at least an ace bandage until the three months are up. During the six weeks a brace with metal supports to limit mobility is a good idea.
So what Iโm hearing is Iโm young and dumb for jumping back so soon? As long as Iโm pain free I should be okay tho right? I planed on trying 40-50% on lifts tonight to gauge

@peytonT Tissue isn't healed even if it doesn't hurt. You're increasing your chances of creating a recurring injury, very common with sprained ankles.

So went and hit the gym and nothing hurts except when I walk in my bench setup but thatโs an easy fix Iโll switch to my oly shoes and plant the heel
Went ahead and hit my prescribed deadlifts and ohp for the day cause I felt good. Will take a light days before squats to be extra safe
The lack of squat focus of my oly program took away my 315 PR low bar back squat. feelsbadman
I think I'll pick the SS program back up in conjunction with my oly program which will basically have me lifting almost every day
If you really want to get your squat up do a Smolov Jr cycle
