Haha @BigBadSaxon - ID here’s another glimpse of the Cimmerian:

2018-02-08 23:06:01 UTC

*Conan's hand fell heavily on her naked shoulder.
"Stand aside, girl," he mumbled. "Now is the feasting of swords."*

2018-02-08 23:41:52 UTC

I can feel my test levels rising already

2018-02-08 23:42:53 UTC

Still working my way through the Horus Heresy and that's a long read so the Cimmerian will be a welcome fermata

2018-02-09 00:18:42 UTC

I was just about to say, I think a lot of WH40k content rivals Conan re: test and gloriousness

2018-02-10 19:46:36 UTC

I need some high energy aggressive lifting music like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ly3xWAUN7YY

2018-02-10 19:46:40 UTC

anyone got recommendations?

2018-02-10 20:00:41 UTC

@Gaius Mucius Scaevola do you like kill baby kill?

2018-02-10 20:00:49 UTC

not familiar

2018-02-11 07:00:13 UTC

if adding running to a workout, before or after lifts and core work?

2018-02-11 07:11:10 UTC

2018-02-11 07:11:25 UTC

Running after lifting boosts hgh production

2018-02-11 07:18:56 UTC

@Gaius Mucius Scaevola Check out Final War, offensive weapon, English rose. Great RAC music for lifting.

2018-02-11 17:29:41 UTC

i normally run on their own day or after hitting legs

2018-02-12 01:22:28 UTC

@peytonT#2360 Same.

I have an upper body day
Lower body + running day

2018-02-12 06:16:56 UTC

Can someone recommend me some knee sleeves for working out?

2018-02-12 06:17:12 UTC

@Tyler0317 I was just gonna run after my workout everyday. Should I not run everyday?

2018-02-12 06:21:59 UTC

You can run as frequently as you want my man.

2018-02-12 06:22:04 UTC
2018-02-12 06:22:26 UTC

2018-02-12 06:23:29 UTC

Cardio after working out helps to flush the lactic acid(the burning sensation in your muscles) from your body.

2018-02-12 06:24:04 UTC

I'm less sore the day after running than I would otherwise be.

2018-02-12 06:24:07 UTC
2018-02-12 06:32:38 UTC

@Gaius Mucius Scaevola SBD makes the best kneesleeves

2018-02-12 15:08:07 UTC

SBD sleeves will add weight to your squat because they are made to help increase totals. Get them in a certain size and it can add like 50lbs

2018-02-12 15:09:22 UTC

I use a pair from elitefts (where i got my lifting belt). They are nice and tight and warm but dont add as much bounce. They are also woven which is nice for the extra flexibility

2018-02-12 15:09:52 UTC
2018-02-12 15:46:45 UTC

Shock Doctor has some good stuff too

2018-02-12 22:12:21 UTC

Just went for a run after lifting

2018-02-12 22:12:40 UTC

I feel like I could go right into another workout, why haven't I done this before?

2018-02-12 23:19:18 UTC

I did Tate press for tris today after Low bar and close grip bench. The new angle had my tris on fire

2018-02-12 23:32:11 UTC

SBD is best in my opinion. Or go with the STrong sleeves. They're both on the pricier side but the quality is phenomenal and they'll greatly reduce your risk of injury

2018-02-12 23:38:23 UTC

Tfw only 1 month to bulk up in order to look good for the IE conference

2018-02-12 23:42:38 UTC

@Deleted User

Conference preparation. 😉

2018-02-13 02:19:34 UTC

Just sprinkle some onion on him.

2018-02-13 02:53:57 UTC

Ha even I have 40 lbs on that guy.

2018-02-13 17:26:34 UTC

Special case he needs 3 onions a day

2018-02-13 19:55:44 UTC

2018-02-13 23:57:28 UTC

@Nick-NJ I heard Strong sleeves are manufactured with a shitty material now...no longer sbd equivalents

2018-02-14 16:26:41 UTC

Sub 15%! Cutting season finally going well.

2018-02-15 01:11:19 UTC

2018-02-15 05:15:22 UTC

@Suomi Stronk any pics? That's pretty much exactly my body weight/body fat % and want to compare

2018-02-15 05:15:57 UTC

2018-02-15 05:15:58 UTC

Face obscured of course

2018-02-15 17:26:49 UTC

Deficit deadlift and rackpulls for me today lads, what're you all training in the temple today?

2018-02-15 17:55:21 UTC

Deadies, press, diamond push ups, dumbbell curls

2018-02-15 17:56:09 UTC

2018-02-15 21:46:30 UTC

Low bar squat, sumo, close grip bench. Lots of accessories

2018-02-16 00:46:12 UTC

Is it weird that I've never trained Sumo

2018-02-16 00:46:19 UTC

I just bring myself to do it

2018-02-16 01:23:21 UTC

I deadlift conventional and squat high bar in competition but the program has me sumo and low bar so that’s why

2018-02-16 01:23:42 UTC

I feel like a special snowflake every time I set up for the lift

2018-02-16 03:33:42 UTC

Haha damn I would never squat anything but lowbar in competition

2018-02-16 03:33:54 UTC

So I can squat morning the weight if I need to

2018-02-16 04:35:00 UTC

@peytonT How heavy do you highbar?

I did only 225 and felt like my spine was fusing, lol

2018-02-16 04:35:29 UTC

-Lowbar exclusively for me.

2018-02-16 04:42:40 UTC

Evening gents, would you say that organic is a healthier alternative to conventional food produce?

2018-02-16 04:55:42 UTC

@Tyler0317 400+ on high bar

2018-02-16 04:56:20 UTC

Here’s 370 for four

2018-02-16 04:57:52 UTC

2018-02-16 04:59:24 UTC

@The Eternal Anglo Healthier, unquestionably.

The real argument is whether the price of organic is worth it.

2018-02-16 05:00:33 UTC

You get used to it. Low bar feels wonky to me

2018-02-16 05:01:34 UTC

I’ve always squatted high bar idk I like it

2018-02-16 19:27:58 UTC

Dropped a warmup in formcheck if anyone wants to help me out

2018-02-16 20:15:58 UTC

@Deleted User I understand Body Fat calipers are better, but is one of those scales still useful?

2018-02-16 20:16:55 UTC

Yes it is

2018-02-16 20:17:08 UTC

It's not perfect but it's better than a standard scale

2018-02-16 20:18:42 UTC

2018-02-16 21:08:13 UTC

"Organic Food"... what our ancestors called "Food". Yes, I prefer organic, but... the Chinese self-certify. And since they put poison in baby formula, I don't trust them at all. So, I'd rather USA non-organic than non-USA organic. And, sometimes the markups are too much. I'll pay maybe 20% more, but sometimes they ask double or triple for organic. I won't go that far. Anyway, I get organic when I can. @The Eternal Anglo

2018-02-16 21:37:22 UTC

Buy local if you can

2018-02-16 21:41:05 UTC

@The Eternal Anglo#6213 @Algrin "Bailey" Bagley - PA @Deleted User Farmer's markets are ideal.

2018-02-16 21:41:46 UTC

Even if not organic, you know where it came from.

2018-02-16 22:09:37 UTC

Another form vid on bench up in formcheck

2018-02-16 23:33:50 UTC

I'm hitting the gym shortly and I have it in mind that I'm going to try to kill my arms.

2018-02-17 00:18:29 UTC

You might need them later

2018-02-17 00:33:55 UTC

Not till Monday so I'll be ok. I'm doing legs tomorrow and rest Sunday so they'll come back to life by then.

Teaser quote:
NBC Sports, the de facto owner of the Olympic Games, just doesn't include the “testosterone” sports in their coverage – unless there is a severe injury that looks very bad (good) on TV. Swimming is fine (no hairy men), all women's sports are fine (no hairy men), gymnastics, ditto (basically a children's sport), skiing is okay (hair doesn't show through lycra), and the equestrian events are just fine (horses are innocent even if hairy). What you will not see are more than one or two Weightlifters, shot-putters, hammer throwers, or discus throwers. Javelins are too pointy, as are epees and sabers, and such weapon-y things are threatening. Basically, you get to see activities you would personally enjoy on a Sunday afternoon – you know, wholesome stuff without the slightest whiff of meanness, bullying, or testosterone.

These errors of omission are quite thoroughly intentional, and are designed by the people who present the vast majority of most people's exposure to the Olympics, 99% of whom are not watching the internet feeds. The Media controls the popular culture, and control is, by definition, not accidental.

2018-02-17 03:43:36 UTC

Speaking of that Lindsey Von got BTFOD tonight. She was the one who said she's boycotting the 2028 Olympics because it's being hosted in racist America. She's a white American BTW

2018-02-17 03:46:08 UTC

She said she refuses to ski for America during the 2028 Olympics, which was funny because 2028 is the summer Olympics

2018-02-17 03:52:20 UTC

@Mark Vandal#5146 I actuallly oloed

2018-02-17 05:08:14 UTC

@Deleted User She is also banging Tiger Woods.

Mud Shark alarm!!!

2018-02-17 05:09:17 UTC

I doubt she still is. She's 30 years old

2018-02-17 23:08:22 UTC

@Deleted User What do you think about a 'gym motivation' (or just #motivation) channel?

2018-02-18 00:11:54 UTC

@Deleted User what’s in it?

2018-02-18 00:16:36 UTC

Kind of like a whitepills For working out channel?

2018-02-18 00:17:02 UTC

Quotes, pics, inspirational books, videos

2018-02-18 00:35:19 UTC

In theory this entire server is supposed to be gym motivation.

2018-02-19 00:54:50 UTC

Have some heavy deads tonight so gonna have a vid

2018-02-21 23:04:38 UTC

Time for a frigid garage workout. Should have gotten a space heater back in December.

2018-02-21 23:54:40 UTC

Nice. I've been doing those all winter.

2018-02-21 23:54:56 UTC

I was lifting in the cold until my landlord let me use his garage haha

2018-02-22 00:14:12 UTC

What are some good workouts that you can do at home without weights?

2018-02-22 00:18:50 UTC

2018-02-22 00:36:34 UTC

@Warren H burpees

2018-02-22 00:36:50 UTC

I’d just do a search for calisthenics workouts

2018-02-22 00:39:27 UTC

@Warren H#1406
-Push ups
-Pull ups

Eventually, you will need to use weights to continue making progress.

2018-02-22 00:44:36 UTC

You can get shredded but it'd be very hard to get BIG

2018-02-22 01:30:51 UTC

@Warren H The FFL workout will get you in amazing shape if you can make it work for you. No gym needed. (If you can, lifting is still great and you should get a membership)

2018-02-22 01:36:18 UTC

This is for the days when I don't make it to the gym. I do workout with weights regularly. Thanks for the suggestions

2018-02-22 01:36:47 UTC

What is the FFL? @BigBadSaxon - ID

2018-02-22 01:42:47 UTC

French Foreign Legion

2018-02-22 02:44:00 UTC

Just got the best parking spot at the gym I've ever had

2018-02-22 02:44:09 UTC

We're all gonna make it lads

2018-02-22 03:19:04 UTC

Took a rest day after skipping the last 12. Weights moving amazing rn lads

2018-02-22 03:22:19 UTC

Mirin rest day

2018-02-22 03:31:53 UTC

By rest I guess only lifted once yesterday in the am lol. Also @Nick-NJ I made sure to fix my softish knees today with 430 dl triples and no issues. Thanks for the heads up tho

2018-02-22 03:55:47 UTC

Good stuff m8

2018-02-22 04:24:57 UTC

You compete right Nick?

2018-02-22 05:20:34 UTC

Finally starting to figure out the snatch. That lift has been giving me trouble for weeks

2018-02-22 05:20:51 UTC

It's taking forever to get it to "click"

2018-02-22 09:56:44 UTC

@Warren H#1406

2018-02-22 16:50:40 UTC

I’m having trouble getting gains. How much should I be hoping for in a month? I seem to be stuck at 150 lbs no matter what I do

2018-02-22 17:49:59 UTC

@peytonT yessir

2018-02-22 17:51:28 UTC

Nuclear, I’m kinda stuck between 160-165 and I’m 5’7. Just get strong as fuck then go into bodybuilding training and force feeds yourself

2018-02-22 17:53:09 UTC

@NuclearReactionary gib more info. How much do you weigh? How much are you lifting? What program are you following if any

2018-02-22 18:13:29 UTC

You gotta eat big.

2018-02-22 18:13:48 UTC

If you aren't putting on ANY weight, you are not eating enough. It's that simple

2018-02-22 18:14:32 UTC

If you are 150 and fat, that's a different situation.

2018-02-22 21:02:58 UTC

Not fat, just not really gaining weight.

2018-02-22 21:04:44 UTC

@Nick-NJ I weigh 153 right now. I’m not following a program. I just have a set of adjustable dumbbells and a bench right now. I lift 3 times a week, rotating between muscle groups.

2018-02-22 22:09:11 UTC

@NuclearReactionary Start recording your daily calories and weigh yourself to find your basline, then add approx. 300 calorie surplus to gain weight. If you are eating a caloric surplus you will gain weight. Track in an app like fitday. You also need to be following a program and recording your sets/weight so you can see that your progressing.

2018-02-22 22:11:30 UTC

If you arent tracking your weight numbers and calorie numbers so you can adjust them and doing it by "feel" you likely wont make the progress you want.

2018-02-22 22:12:32 UTC

@NuclearReactionary For reference, I'm a naturally slender guy too.

I gained 20 solid lbs after following the Starting Strength program.

Like @Brandon Ironside- ND said, you need a REAL program, one you can keep track of, and chart your improvements, and you need to eat more than you presently do.

2018-02-22 22:14:53 UTC

Ok. I am keeping track of my weight numbers, but I will look into a program.

2018-02-22 22:15:24 UTC

I will also look into tracking my caloric intake.

2018-02-22 22:16:19 UTC
2018-02-22 22:16:38 UTC

I don’t have a barbell 😩

2018-02-22 22:17:18 UTC

This is what I have for the moment.

2018-02-22 22:17:54 UTC

Gyms do. ;)

I got 2 barbells and freeweights from Craigslist, for alot less than you'd expect.

2018-02-22 22:20:02 UTC

Maybe I’ll get a barbell this summer, but for now I have to make do with what I got.

2018-02-22 23:11:32 UTC

called a gym membership, nibba

2018-02-22 23:29:47 UTC

Mark Rippetoe is the shit

2018-02-22 23:29:52 UTC

And also funny as hell

2018-02-23 06:01:25 UTC

Ok, dumb question. Is there a right time of day to weigh yourself or does it only matter that you do the same time every day?

2018-02-23 06:30:30 UTC

Best time is probably right when you wake up

2018-02-23 06:30:42 UTC

But mostly it's about doing it same time every day

2018-02-23 12:30:34 UTC

2018-02-23 12:30:49 UTC

Some people say once a week, in the morning

2018-02-23 19:10:31 UTC

Weighing everyday is not only not a good gauge (weight naturally fluctuates from day to day which is not a reflection of your long-term progress) but is also a recipe for an unhealthy obsession with your weight, if you are prone to such things as body dysmorphia.

2018-02-23 19:12:57 UTC

Just weigh in at the same time of day, once or twice a week, any time that works best for you, wearing the same amount of clothing each time. When I used to weigh myself (stopped because body dysmorphia) I would also take into account the state of my digestive system, but that might be veering on obsessive too.

2018-02-23 20:16:09 UTC

Weighing in everyday just creates too much noise in the data set you are trying to observe. Once every week or two will show you good trends. Also use body fat calipers so you know that the weight you lose is fat or that the weight you are gaining is muscle.

2018-02-23 20:17:46 UTC

Example: If you went on a bender the night previous you’re gonna weigh more and go “oh god, I need to change my diet” and screw up

2018-02-23 20:18:32 UTC

Just don't base your weight goals or diet on what you weigh that day

2018-02-23 20:19:08 UTC

I'm a big proponent of weighing yourself every day so you have more data

2018-02-23 20:20:31 UTC

So you know which days you've shit before weighing, drank the night before (degenerate), etc

2018-02-23 20:21:00 UTC

As long as you don't freak out every time you look at the scale or base everything on your weight weighing yourself every day is fine

2018-02-24 02:55:55 UTC

This is what most of my suppers look like. Put the fish in for 8 minutes and nuke the sweet potato for 3 minutes after poking holes in it.

2018-02-24 03:33:09 UTC

@Suomi Stronk#0869 You just called it supper!

You are an honorary Southerner. 😃

2018-02-24 03:53:17 UTC

@Tyler0317 Midwest-South Alliance!

2018-02-24 03:54:00 UTC

2018-02-24 21:33:12 UTC

Working out at the YMCA is such a mixed bag of whitepills and blackpills

2018-02-24 21:33:22 UTC

on one hand, I see a lot of white kids and white families being active and being together

2018-02-24 21:33:47 UTC

on other hand, I see hijabs and thots with partially shaved heads and face tattoos and spiked collar necklaces

2018-02-26 13:56:15 UTC

Ankle got destroyed yesterday bouldering. It feels better today but calls for another day off. Sucks

2018-02-26 20:14:27 UTC

I listen to only this on loop when I hit the gym

2018-02-27 15:25:08 UTC

Only a sprain in the ankle but was told I need 6 weeks off. Anyone have experience with a grade 2-3 ankle sprain?

2018-02-27 15:33:05 UTC

R.I.C.E. every day, stay off it as long as you can

2018-02-27 15:33:46 UTC

I used crutches after I got a similar level ankle sprain during a skydiving landing

2018-02-27 17:24:28 UTC

@Havamal hey bro I was shoa’d yesterday... I got the boot from discord... so I’m trying to get all my severs back... can I get an invite to the heathen server?

2018-02-27 17:24:43 UTC

Servers *^

2018-02-27 17:26:58 UTC

2018-02-27 17:27:39 UTC

Thanks .... didn’t realize how much I use that server until I didn’t have it/couldn’t use it.

2018-02-27 17:28:31 UTC

And to make matters worse my youngest dropped my phone in some water at the park so I lost phone contacts of a ton of IE guys... double shoa

2018-02-27 17:30:00 UTC

2018-02-27 17:30:32 UTC

Something has it out for you.

2018-02-27 17:32:40 UTC

@Havamal still haven’t gotten the link ... I wonder what’s goin on?…………

2018-02-27 17:32:43 UTC

Per the osteopath I saw for an ankle sprain two years ago, soft tissue injuries actually take 3 months to fully heal. Come back to your usual activities very cautiously after six weeks. I would continue to wear at least an ace bandage until the three months are up. During the six weeks a brace with metal supports to limit mobility is a good idea.

2018-02-27 18:02:44 UTC

So what I’m hearing is I’m young and dumb for jumping back so soon? As long as I’m pain free I should be okay tho right? I planed on trying 40-50% on lifts tonight to gauge

2018-02-27 18:33:14 UTC

DM me and I'll reply

2018-02-27 18:33:25 UTC
2018-02-27 18:58:10 UTC

@peytonT Tissue isn't healed even if it doesn't hurt. You're increasing your chances of creating a recurring injury, very common with sprained ankles.

2018-02-27 23:17:07 UTC

We gon’ climb it 🅱ois

2018-02-28 00:40:27 UTC

So went and hit the gym and nothing hurts except when I walk in my bench setup but that’s an easy fix I’ll switch to my oly shoes and plant the heel

2018-02-28 00:41:13 UTC

Went ahead and hit my prescribed deadlifts and ohp for the day cause I felt good. Will take a light days before squats to be extra safe

2018-02-28 19:10:37 UTC

The lack of squat focus of my oly program took away my 315 PR low bar back squat. feelsbadman

2018-02-28 19:11:13 UTC

I think I'll pick the SS program back up in conjunction with my oly program which will basically have me lifting almost every day

2018-02-28 19:16:10 UTC

If you really want to get your squat up do a Smolov Jr cycle

2018-02-28 19:16:41 UTC

Got me from 400 to 500 by the end

2018-02-28 19:26:12 UTC

I'll check that out @BigBadSaxon - ID thanks

2018-02-28 19:26:51 UTC

It's a hellish couple months but you'll be the best at squatting you've ever been

2018-02-28 19:27:18 UTC

I'm long over my fear of squatting lol

2018-02-28 19:29:17 UTC

Smolov will make you fear again haha

2018-02-28 19:40:32 UTC

damn 10 sets of 3 at 85%

2018-02-28 19:40:33 UTC

2018-02-28 19:41:56 UTC

The hard days were the 9 rep sets for me

2018-02-28 19:42:14 UTC

And just knowing that every day at the gym that squat bar is waiting for you

2018-02-28 19:42:25 UTC

Was terrifying and exhilirating

2018-02-28 19:43:03 UTC

Oh wait I was looking at the full smolov

2018-02-28 19:43:34 UTC

so the Jr is only 3 weeks? Is that enough to see improvement?

2018-02-28 19:44:02 UTC

I guess I can just pick up where the Jr left off and continue the full

2018-02-28 19:44:14 UTC

That's what I ended up doing

2018-02-28 19:44:38 UTC

We had to cut the full one short because of a deployment but the squat and overall body gains were unreal

2018-02-28 19:44:49 UTC

Smolov is real shit.

2018-02-28 19:45:00 UTC

awesome, did you gain any lean mass?

2018-02-28 19:45:31 UTC

I assume you were eating a lot, looks like a lot of volume to not be eating a ton for recovery

2018-02-28 19:46:08 UTC

I gained half an inch on my biceps and lost inches around my waist

2018-02-28 19:46:21 UTC

were you doing the bench cycle?

2018-02-28 19:46:27 UTC

2018-02-28 19:46:44 UTC

damn half an inch on the arms on a squat program? lol

2018-02-28 19:46:57 UTC

Yeah. It was strange

2018-02-28 19:47:16 UTC

question; were you low bar or high bar squatting?

2018-02-28 19:47:22 UTC

And to this day my ass got so big girls comment on it regularly

2018-02-28 19:47:28 UTC

Low bar

2018-02-28 19:47:40 UTC

lol my ex was obsessed with how round my ass got

2018-02-28 19:47:47 UTC

tbh I think mine got too big

2018-02-28 19:47:52 UTC

2018-02-28 19:48:23 UTC

I got up to 265 at my last powerlifting meet so I hear you

2018-02-28 19:48:26 UTC

My oly coach wants me to switch to high bar which sucks since I can't lift nearly as much weight that way

2018-02-28 19:49:27 UTC

I'd listen just because oly lifting is so toight

2018-02-28 19:49:32 UTC

2018-02-28 19:49:41 UTC

My sister competes in oly lifting

2018-02-28 19:49:47 UTC

yeah and oly lifers have mad aesthetic quads

2018-02-28 19:50:00 UTC

low bar is more hamstrings

2018-02-28 19:50:38 UTC

Yeah. My quads are nothing to laugh at but my hamstrings and glutes are where my gains show

2018-03-03 01:00:16 UTC

Alway good motivation

2018-03-03 07:59:25 UTC

2018-03-03 07:59:31 UTC

2018-03-05 02:11:24 UTC

Just squats. You can only debate high bar v. low bar squats.

2018-03-05 02:11:45 UTC

I'd be down

2018-03-05 02:11:53 UTC

Oh gawd
