@Alfred-22 waaaaaaaay too much volume in my opinion. It's going to be really hard for you to progressively add weight on your compound lifts doing 10x10 reps
I would highly recommend cutting your volume in half and just doubling your lift frequency
I would still deadlift on squat day since it is a posterior chain dominant lift so it works perfectly in conjunction with squats, but 10x10 on squats AND deads is asking for an injury.
Oosh I missed the 10x10 part
That’s 200 reps of the two biggest lifts
I was considering going to 5 x 10
I really wanted to try a really high volume with big lifts. Just kind of see how my body reacts
This definitely isnt a long term plan. Just 6 weeks of radically high volume and then maybe decrease volume by half. AFter I would go back to standard strength training.
I am considering the criticism. I will be sticking with the 10 x 10 for the main compound lift but I will decrease the other exercises to 3 x 10.
I'm by no means an expert, but I'm just curious, cause I've never seen a program with this high volume
- why? what's the purpose?
How is your body meant to react?
high volume means lots of hypertrophy
I hope you get shredded like a Greek god
Yes but 10x10 just seems extreme.
I've seen people who do it
ik this little black dude, Richard hawthorne i think
he does that with deadlift
he's incredibly strong pound for pound
That guys name is Richard Hawthorne? ahaha, that's awesome
Man. That's seriously impressive.
high volume training has its benefits, i try to do my strength sets first, then do 5x10 of a decent weight
the pump gets unreal
and it really helps engrain form
oh and always beltless
Yes no belt. Hypertrophy is the goal. It will be interesting to see how my muscles respond to the training. I just finished my first set of 100 reps for Bench and holy crap. 5 sets in the pump was nice. 8 sets in I could feel anything. I would only recommend this if you have a Goode strength base
What's the benefit of belt/no belt?
Belt is good for heavy lifts. Contrary to popular opinion using a belt doesn't really weaken your core.
However I just don't see any need to use a belt for weight you push in high volume training
Belt exists mostly for safety and for helping maintain internal pressure during a lift by giving your core something to push against
The safety thing is mostly for 90%+
I'll only use a belt for like overloading my hammies and glutes during squats so i don't have to worry about my back
or when going for a pr
Does anyone have tips for getting/staying motivated to work out and excerise? Especially during those cold weeks of December when you just want to stay in and feast every day
Was on XC team in high school. When I was 15 I was in he best shape of my life and I really want to take up running and swimming again
@Warren H you’re not always gonna be motivated. It’s more about discipline. Telling yourself that these days, when you really don’t feel like going, they’re the most important
Set a schedule and really dedicate yourself to it. You’ll always feel better after it’s done
What do you mean by discipline? Like forming a habit of working out on certain days
Sticking to it and not deviating just because you don’t necessarily feel like it (As long as you’re not legitimately sick or injured or anything). Motivation isn’y necessarily something you can force to happen. I used to think so but I realized that it’s really all by chance or by circumstance that you feel “motivation”. Training is more about discipline and not doing it because you “feel” like it. Do it because you know you have to, and that you should, with the knowledge that you will be better for it afterward
Watch shit like this:
Or this:
The number of videos like this are endless. It puts you in a foul mood but sometimes that's what it takes.
Haha yeah those will definitely get me fired up
The vast majority of us would like to think that we'd intervene in situations like these but, it seems, most people do not. One of the things that will increase your chances of doing so is having confidence in your physicality. I train like I do not because I want to be a bad ass but because I never want to live with myself if something like this happens and, like most people, I just stand there. There's never any telling until the moment arises but I want to put myself in the best possible position to help if I'm needed.
I imagine if a guy like @Nick-NJ, @Robtheroman, @Tyler0317, @Deleted User or a lot of the boys here were present in that first video. At least one of those two skinny pricks in the first video is gonna get *mauled*. Also helps to remember that @Reinhard Wolff has been clear about his expectations for our physical fitness.
The IE servers in general (and especially the pagan server for me in particular) are great motivation. @Warren H You have to make it part of your mindset. Given my ideology and values, I'd be a (WEAK) hypocrite if I didn't constantly pursue to better myself. I want to learn, grow, become stronger.
@Deleted User what about the pagan server motivates you? I've been looking for that as well on the server as a way to be empowered and motivated myself
Well that's something you have to look inwards for, but. Paganism has this metaphysical European strength to it. Honor thy ancestors, the Western 'sun and steel'
Have these stuck to my fridge.
👆 👆 👆
@Deleted User pagan server?… invite?
@Deleted User I am Admin in it. I'll DM you.
👌🏻
@Havamal respectfully request invite to pagan server
Dm'd
I know it's into the future quite a ways, but I'd definitely like to plan for another Warrior Dash group run, if you and anyone else are interested @Deleted User
If anyone else plays tennis, we should add a channel!
@Deleted User Let's play tennis together
I'm in Pennsylvania
Ya buddy! 🎾 I’ll bring my Blade to the IE conference in March.
Alright I'll bring mine too
Terrible Test Tennis
Do they play tennis in Texas?
just the indians and asians
It’s about as Anglo a sport as it gets.
featured in Shakespeare's Henry V, when the King of France sent Henry a chest full of tennis balls as a taunt
KING HENRY V
“We are glad the Dauphin is so pleasant with us;
His present and your pains we thank you for:
When we have march'd our rackets to these balls,
We will, in France, by God's grace, play a set
Shall strike his father's crown into the hazard.
Tell him he hath made a match with such a wrangler
That all the courts of France will be disturb'd
With chaces.”
I’m sensing an IE tennis tourney come March.
👏🏻
@Warren H `To whom have I spoken? To my son? My son is only a part of my Folk. The wisdom of a thousand generations slumbers in you. Waken it and you have found the key which will open the doors of your truest aspirations. Only he who esteems himself is worthy of being a man.`
`Only he is a man who bears the living past and future in himself, for only he is able to stand above the present hour. And only he who is master of the present is successful; he alone is fulfilled. As only in fulfillment is divinity. Thus sayeth the Voice of our Ancestors…`
You know, I’ve been thinking about the girl thing for you single lads and I’ve been thinking more and more that female athletes are a good stock. They are generally physically fit but, more to the point, they tend to have a strong sense of self, aren’t quite so “degenerate,” and have experience with working on a “team” so to speak. Looking back over my life, most of the female athletes I’ve known (I don’t mean cheerleaders) have been pretty solid people. Just a thought. Not to mention there’s an innate sexual chemistry between males and females in athletics. What’s more, sharing a sport (or sports in general) gives you a low-pressure, non-sexualized platform in which to interact.
Semi competitive intramural sports is a good place to meet wimminz
What do you suggest for someone like myself who doesn't have intramural sports at my community college? I don't want to be the stereotype dude trying meet someone at the local gym lol
If you like martial arts (boxing, BJJ, mma)...I’ve been surprised at the number of pretty girls that train. Someone suggested running clubs and there are lots of girls into outdoor sports too.
I've been thinking about a running club. I used to do XC in high school and I've been wanting to get back in shape. However my area is a suburb/town and malt kids move away for college so I'm worried it might just be full of mom's 😅😂 but im sure it doesn't hurt to check it out.
*all the kids
I played kickball and flag football with adult leagues
Just look for adult sports leagues
Any basketball players in here?
If it is all moms, they might be willing to introduce you to their daughters if you're an upstanding young lad
Just because blacks dominate basketball doesnt mean its not a good game. In fact that shows it requires much athleticism because they are the best at it
Wat
@Pat-MA#7757 agree; there used to be a time that I could dunk, but I was never very good at the sport
Wat x2
@Deleted User anytime a white kid can dunk, that is a lot of respect!
2nd day of a 7 day water fast. Sleepy sleepy
>water fast
uhh
good luck
That might literally kill you
Wait you're drinking water right?
Like you're doing nothing but water?
Not abstaining from water?
oh right
That wording is funny.
Nutrition normies get out reeeeeeee http://chestofbooks.com/health/Isabelle-A-Moser/How-and-When-to-Be-Your-Own-Doctor/Length-Of-The-Fast.html
http://upvir.al/ref/ji11025721 35% off on Wim Hof Method 😁
God I wish that were me
Anyone in VA into sparring? I have a few years of Muy Thai and BJJ under my belt, looking to improve my irl experience.
@duramaxed have you been following our <#388684556863012865> initiative?
We had a fight club running during Spring and Summer. We're taking a bit of a break during the winter but I may want to get together this Sunday.
What part of VA are you in? @duramaxed
Northern Va. but I'm in the Dominican Republic rn with my dad.
Nice. When are you coming back?
In like 5 days. I'm a younin tho only 20 years old hahah
I'm going to college in NC rn but I'm transferring to George mason next year
Oh, nice. Would you want to get together on the morning of the 31st for some sparring if we set that up?
This was our last winter session.
Ok who was larping as a bear and who was larping as a viking?
TWP was the bear as I recall.
😂
Wow Skyrim still looks pretty great even after 6 years!
ive been watching this video for years and it still gets me every time
For those that don't know the story - at 2:20 are clips of Jacare winning one of his world titles against Roger Gracie (probably the GOAT). Jacare was caught in an arm bar with only a minute or two left, and he let Roger break his arm. Jacare was still up on points so after he wriggled his broken arm free, he tucked it into his belt and was able to keep Roger away until time expired
get your T levels checked if you havent already
Cheapest test I've found.
@Jeb! Nationalism - MD great video
You better break all your PRs now
Those are some high quality shoes m8
Good God I want those shoes!
@duramaxed Im in Norfolk. Close enough. Mason is a good school.
Just did a squat session with them. These shoes are the shit 10/10 would recommend
Don't wear those in a black neighborhood or they will steal them right off your feet
One of the most well put together WN cinema and it's great before a workout to raise those t levels
Isn't Wim Hof basically a con artist? Someone give me the quick rundown on him
Workout. Steam room. Shower. Protein shake. English tea. I struggle to imagine that there can be a better recipe for the makings of a well lived day.
☝🏻
Well that and crushing your enemies, seeing them driven before you, and hearing the lamentations of their women. But otherwise, yeah.
Or as @Suomi Stronk might say, “The open steppe, a fleet horse, falcons at your wrist, and the wind in your hair.”
I'm just trying to honor your customs.
😂
Gonna be on this livestream soon with Byron de la Vandal and Blacke Lucca. Check it out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0yWXUsAc8aM
Waking up and doing pushups until you can't anymore is literally the best way to start your day.
💪
I’m gonna @everyone this as a PSA to you younger guys. So, I’m going back and watching the early days of the UFC. At about 1996 - 1998, long after Royce Gracie left his mark on the game, the “Uber-Body” athletes took over. Steroids were obviously abound but, in any event, for about a year or so, the UFC was dominated by hyper-muscled men with body fat of between 6 and 9 percent. They smashed everyone they faced within 2 minutes, and they looked like Greek statues chiseled from stone.
...
However, by the end of 1997 (I’m at UFC 16 right now), something became pretty apparent. If you could survive these guys for five minutes, their stamina PLUMMETED dramatically. I mean, to the point of where at minute 7 or so, they would literally be getting punched in the face and were too tired to lift their hands up.
...
I look at their physiques, and they look like professional body-builders. Every vein popping. Do you have any idea how much oxygen it takes to fuel all that muscle mass? It also takes some body fat. By 1998, the Muhammad Ali body style (about 10-15 percent body fat) was back in full control.
...
Case and point, either be an elite body builder or an elite warrior. You can’t be both.
Very true, gotta make sure you do your cardio too
McGregor lost his boxing match because of cardio
It's a balancing act, really
McGregor is a perfect example.
You need to have the strength to fight (Via Muscle Mass) but the lungs to keep going.
I actually have you in mind @Suomi Stronk. Footballers tend to burst then rest. But what if you have to burst then no rest?
You have a very low body fat. Well [email protected]
I ran into this issue a lot in wrestling, as I had the strength to get most people in either the first or second period, but if it went into the third I was gassed.
Yeah
It just depends what your strategy is. Either overwhelm your opponent quickly or wait him out until an opportunity opens up.
It depends on what energy system you train during exercise
Well, you can overwhelm with more than 9 percent body fat.
I just bought an exercise bike 👍
How do you find the balance so you can fuel yourself?
In 2018 I really want to take up running and swimming to supplement my weight training
Back in 9th grade though I was a younger lad, I was in the best shape of my life and could run a mile in 5 minutes. And I would love to get back to that but also have the strength of a Greek god haha
Did someone say cardio? Time to shill our Strava club again @everyone . DM me your Strava name and I'll send an invite. https://www.strava.com/clubs/GaryYounge
Haha dude if you can run a mile that fast you definitely do not have much mass, but that is FAST
What is strava @Argument of Perigee
Strava is a running/cycling fitness tracker.
I can't decide if that's good or bad. I don't like having to choose between speed or strength
Hey man just gotta make the best of what you have been given right? I am thin too and can run a mile in 6 min, but part of me has wished I was a little bigger. But at the end of the day, I try to make the best of what I've been given
@Pat-MA I just want to be in the best physical shape I can be in. I think I rather be lean and mean fast than not be able to touch my shoulders 😂
Dude running a mile in 5 min is wicked fast. That is something to take pride in. Most people could never be physically capable of doing that
Muscles need to be useful, not just pretty. I strongly believe that a well balanced physique is far more attractive than someone who builds muscle just for asthetics.
haha, yup
Yeah. It is definitely good to have an athletic, fit body. Doesn't have to be loaded with muscle to be effective
I'm British. ---- No...
It also depends on what martial art / fighting style you use. If you're a wrestler, you expend energy in short spurts to slam someone or perform a takedown then you can rest by grappling with them and tying them up. However if you box, A LOT of cardio is needed.
Yeah and Im Bantu
@Pat-MA I agree. I want to have an atheletic body more than looking like a body builder. And yes definitely I want to train to be that fast again. It's been a few years and few pounds heavier though lol.
Haha hey never too late though!
@Argument of Perigee r u in the oathkeepers militia thing?
@Koba#0202 I am.
What's it like?
fwiw, 10 or so years ago I ran long distances (30+ miles a day) and biked ultras (200+ a day) and then started focusing on lifting. I know that is excesive so don't do that but a) I feel so much better lifting even now as an old man and b) I receive so much more respect/attention (not in a vanity way) benching 350 than i even did biking 200 miles from men and women alike.
but just like everyone said, all round fitness is the key as much as possible
I haven't lived close to any of the significant issues they targeted for activism, so my membership has been extremely passive. Mostly just pay dues and read newsletters. I'm still active duty, so I can't really go do things with them very easily. @Deleted User
@eastern.patriarch How did running all those miles affect your lower body? Any injuries today?
gotcha @Argument of Perigee
No, I never had any major injuries. I always squatted and kept my posterior chain strong so no IT band or such injuries. Took time off when needed. The only drawback tbh is that it made me super fucking fat. What happens is that when you get good at it, a 30 mile bike ride seems like a waste of time. a 5 mile run? Why bother? So my caloric input when working out at that level were yuuge. Then i had kids so no more eduro for 50 hours a week but guess what, forgot to cut my calories from 5K soooo.... 😃 Anyway, longwinded explanation but if I could do it again I would lift more and keep eduro stuff low but then again I did it because back then I was in a rough spot personally so it really helped me drain myself physically and emotionally.
@here are some videos of our meeting today, in a high temperature of 19 degrees Farenheit. Me, @Reinhard Wolff, @Matthias, and @Jeb! Nationalism - MD were the only ones who posted, but we had a lot of fun. The first fifteen minutes were really cold but, once we got rolling, we warmed right up!
Thank you for the uploads Will
Nice!
@Matthias Of course brother. You look pretty good. That high guard can be a pretty effective base defense. I also think it's really important to have a CEO who can scrap, even though we are a peaceful organization.
we just got a lot of good footage in Southern California yesterday with @Robtheroman. Should be coming soon.
boxing sparring
Awesome
that last fight, Will just kept circling back 😅
i was waiting for him to be more offensive
A must watch
@Deleted User haha you know we can't be whompin' too hard on the new lads or they won't come back.
he looked alright for bein a new lad though
Yeah he really did
@Robtheroman I dream of a day that IE can make a video like that. Western men used to be that way. We can be that way again.
@Robtheroman That's who we're meant to be. Very inspiring.
(Also not a bad Thor Steinar ad)
@Robtheroman It's funny, I was just talking to my wife about this. When I was a boy growing up in the 90s, when we boys would read about the Spartans, Celts, Romans, etc. in class, we'd be totally pumped and wanted to be like them. Then our female (and some male) teachers and classmates would say things like "Well, yeah, but, you know, the Spartan men would be gay with each other," and "Well, yeah, but, you know, real men are sensitive to the needs of women." In this way, we learned to reject the masculine behaviors of old and were taught a new idea of masculinity that revolved less around physicality and brotherhood, and more around tolerance and understanding. This has been the experience of most western men in the modern era.
Agreed was the same when I was in school. Then I'd come home and tell my dad and he would be like they is warriors they ain't no faggots.(thick country accent) thank god I had my dad growing up to keep me on track and not believing the propaganda.
Start punishing mistakes with a nice left hook Will you're too soft on all us young'ins haha
Jokes aside, great footage guys and nice to see everyone making it out to train despite the cold.
We'll have to do some sparring sessions this summer.
I've gotten rusty living up in the mountains -- first time sparring in months and my defense was noticeably worse
Thought you looked good. You definitely move around good.
@Reinhard Wolff you’re still just as aggressive, which is a good sign. The rest is just mechanics.
We also learned that scrapping in freezing weather is pretty close to any other kind of scrapping once you get moving.
@Reinhard Wolff Without being sycophantic, that’s one of the things I know about you that I knew would make you a good leader. Most intelligent guys aren’t aggressive; their imaginations take over and they tend to be conservative. When you spar with an intelligent guy who is aggressive - that’s a rare combination. I’ve watched you spar with guys who outweigh you by between 25 and 75 pounds and your instinct is still to press the attack. There’s something about fighting that lets you get to know a man in a way that sitting down to dinner won’t.

@everyone /sir/ new years comic
lol so true
>use every method you can to try and get gains except actual consistent lifting
lol i love it
>be doing a solid clean bulk
>put on massive amounts of muscle
>cuts showing
>start feeling horrible pain in my forearms
>oh_shit.gif
>It's tendinitis
>haven't lifted since October. ALL of my muscle is gone. Pants getting tighter.
>I'm getting FAT
>January 1st. Starting to feel better
>tfw I'm gonna go back soon but I'm gonna look like a new years resolutioner.
Why is God so cruel guys
F
@Deleted User @Reinhard Wolff @Deleted User Nice, guys!! Once I get my Jeep fixed I'll try my best to make it some time! @Mark Vandal Ouch!! Been there before, feels bad, man.
Sorry to hear that @Mark Vandal
@Mark Vandal Aye but now you can think of your current physical state as a challenge to overcome. If there's one thing I've learned about IE guys, they love overcoming challenges.
challenges exist to be overcome
Using indoor resistance machine, which forces you to output a set wattage. If you pedal slower, the intensity automatically ramps up to maintain the same wattage output, you cannot rest, you cannot escape. Just like how 300 lbs in the gym is always 300 lbs, 300 watts is always 300 watts, no matter how fast or slow you go.
@Robtheroman where was that filmed?
17 months later, got blue.
Nice!
Well done, brother! @Deleted User
@Deleted User Well done!
@shyguy you can take a selfie without making a bugman face
@Tanner - SC implying thats actually a picture of me
nuttin personal kid
You post a picture with no context, it’s misinterpreted, and you call me “kid”?
😎
I would love to learn the art of Swordsmanship but I'm not sure where to start. Is that actually a thing you can get lessons in now days?
I'm really glad that isn't you @shyguy
