I know the book has "Invasion" in the title, but a lot of it is about the immigration of germanic peoples into the Roman Empire and the various issues that resulted

I've read that book, it's excellent, and the parallels to today are fairly obvious even to someone who does not think about immigration in the same way we do.

And another lesson that we can learn from the past is that German descended and us Roman descended people should not be enemies, but we should be allies in glorious victory against the hordes and the parasitic Semmies.

@D_R_K_V The quotes from the various religious and civic leaders in the book are the most interesting part of it. We can see Orestes and Orosius and Ricimer many times over here in our current time.
