so silk ties vs linen?
i'm doing some christmas shopping
@Goose All my ties are silk. But I'd say linen ties are cozier for winter
@Jason - CT good to know, thanks.
i went with silk since it's warmer down here and more versatile
Oh, woops haha
@missliterallywho louisiana begs to differ lol
but in all seriousness, that's good info to know.
i'll have to keep my eye out for more linen ties now
glad i have the IE chats for advice now until i have a wife lol
Speaking of ties, hubby got this from his dad's closet last month, along with others. We all really loved that his dad had 3 flag ties that we could split up btwn the 3 kids. Also kept a few other ties and shared with other family too. Which will be nice to see stepson wear ties his grandpa used to wear too. Anyways I think ours here was the best Country Flag tie there was๐๐โค
Best to avoid too much shininess in suits and ties less it looks plastic-y and likely that it has large percentages of cheap synthetics like polyester.
Silk, cotton, and cashmere are indeed best for ties. No offense to anyone here, but ties with distracting modern pattern or really anything beyond the classics just clashes so easily unfortunately.
I agree. Unless of course it's for a casual party where ties are completely unnecessary and thus it becomes a fun accoutrement
i stick with the classics; they're timeless
Yup
That is the real benefit of mens style. It has been so timeless. The stuff that was worn 50 years ago for the most part is still completely legitimate today and in fact better than most of the 'fashion forward' stuff.
Was going over some of my old scout gang stuff. Some good aesthetics here.
I'd wager we have quite a few scouts in I.E.
It is/was a pretty good outlet for white identity
My mom just called me to tell me that Chinos and Khakis are the same thing. I disagree, I think khakis can only be one color and are generally less casual. Thoughts? And do you associate khakis or chinos more with youth?
Chinos are definitely a subset, especially when you can further subdivide them into Aiden or other variety by cut. Khakis are more of a general term for a group of pants, with common color and cut.
Hm?
Also chinos and khakis are completely different pants.

<@&435155897904398340> when posting a selfie please blur your face or take the photo to not include above your chin.
What if I have 2 chins?
@Freiheit - CA please limit it to 1.618 chins
Chinstack overflow
Wore my fav blazer this weekend, it's officially too small.
Winter lifting regimen is working.
You know a bunch of the fashion in the dissident right is just looking like a 90s movie villain.
I could totally see some of our peoplesporting this look unironically.
Wait what ?? Lol
Hmm
Fresh Legio Gloria gear on the site...
@Argument of Perigee New Norse Fitness gear dropping Feb 1st
Fantastic! I need to set a reminder. That stuff sells out quickly. Thanks, @Valaska !
I know it's been said before, but thrift stores are just about the best place to shop if you don't have a ton of money, and sometimes even if you do.
2 Ralph Lauren Polo shirts
1 Hugo Boss Sportscoat
1 1/4 zip(button style) bananna republic sweater.
$18 total.
I've had similar success and mention the fact to the right people (I mean, I don't want them buying up what I want). ๐
Thrift stores in affluent counties are the way to go.
I've purchased items for people on occasion, if there is something really nice and not in my size.
A Kashmir Armani blazer for instance.
Does anyone wear a stiff leather gun belt with a changeable buckle?
Pardner'
Hahaha no, not an old school gun belt. A modern one, quarter inch thick leather, some have a steel band in them. I was curious if anyone uses one, and what it feels like to wear?
I'm in Kentucky not Texas ๐๐
idk man sounds pretty cool though
I just picked up a nice polo club leather belt for cheap at the thrift store yesterday.
@RevStench not one with a buckle, no. I do wear a hanks gun belt though. (No steel insert)
No big belt buckle anyway. Just your standard buckle
The hanks belts "the gunner" 100 year belt. I recommend it. Looks good and is great quality
@Thomas Morrow awesome. Thanks bro. Do you carry inside the waistband? My current belt sags and makes it kind of obvious I'm carrying something.
@RevStench yessir. I carry around the 4 o'clock position with no problems. If you have a good holster and a get a good belt it shouldn't be an issue
I carry IWB appendix with a tuckable hybrid holster (half leather half kydex).
I wear a normal thin leather belt with no issues. @RevStench
@Papa Pizzagateyep.
Thrift stores and a good tailor , people will think you're a GQ model.
That's where I carry as well. I need a new belt anyway so I've already looked at the one Thomas recommended. I'm going to get one.
I'll have to look into those tuckable holsters. Thanks fellas
@Papa Pizzagate There are also online thrift stores, like poshmark, where you can select items by particular brands or designers. I get my fiance a lot of used stuff from Ralph Lauren, Banana Republic, Brooks Brothers, J. Crew, Johnston & Murphy, etc. for cheap on there. I think there is even less competition for men's clothes, so the prices are lower than for women's designer clothes.
@apronandlace I sell stuff on PoshMark too.
It's a convenient way to clean out the closet and make a few $.
I've outgrown most of my menswear(Thanks weightlifting๐ช ).
Sizes I'm getting rid of...
Jacket 40R
Shirt- 15-15.5 neck(M)
For reference, I'm 6'1" 190lbs.
with 32" waist and 42" shoulders.
Lemme know if any of y'all are a tad smaller than me, I'll put up my poshmark profile and give yall a fat discount.
Should I cop? Would wear for work mostly. Business casual attire for work
Yes
Boots always work
Boots and wranglers
