Money = Freedom

2017-09-18 16:15:19 UTC

I'm stupid man, I've never even considered a refi

2017-09-18 16:16:21 UTC

@Wotan Reborn Being invaluable to society=freedom. Money is just a metric to measure how valuable you are

2017-09-18 16:17:07 UTC

Well it certainly makes it easier

2017-09-18 16:21:03 UTC

Yeah, I'm just being a semantic dick

2017-09-18 16:26:15 UTC

Anyone want to learn how to cut stones?

2017-09-18 16:51:21 UTC

Ooooooh

2017-09-18 16:51:22 UTC

Yeah

2017-09-18 18:25:37 UTC

Oy vey goys, don't do that!

2017-09-18 18:30:29 UTC

My dad and little brother started a Jewelry store after he retired. My dad is GIA certified geologist.

2017-09-18 18:52:16 UTC

(((Jew)))elry

2017-09-18 20:35:53 UTC

The jews don't control the jewelry business anymore, just a stake in the diamond trade, The Chinese run that industry. China is loaded with minerals, and cheap labor create cheap jewelry.

2017-09-18 21:40:20 UTC

You know cutting stones is very similar to cutting a gear on an indexing head

2017-09-18 21:45:18 UTC

@Deleted User give me a couple of weeks, I only see my parent's on the weekend. So I'll need time to show the process.
Also @Deleted User is doing a great job on showing things that can dress up a house to get a different look.

2017-09-21 21:21:45 UTC

Ran into some asbestos today. Old 9x9 floor tile, someone used to hold a window sill up. Haha

I would like an invite to the RE investment server. Thank you.

2017-09-24 11:54:03 UTC

Good morning @everyone. I want to share something pretty autistic and pretty personal with you. Iโ€™m a big believer in consistent self-improvement, and in keeping a balance of academic, physical, and spiritual pursuits. Iโ€™m an older lad, and settled down, so I have time to engage in these pursuits. This is a pic is a little diagram Iโ€™ve prepared to show you how I pursue this balance, and I provide it so that maybe you can use it as a model to balance your own pursuits. If you do, and are comfortable sharing them, I would love to see them. You'll have to click on "open in original" to be able to read it I think.

2017-09-24 12:50:12 UTC

@Deleted User yes you have to open in browser.

2017-09-24 12:51:27 UTC

This is pretty intense. Maintaining this consistently takes extreme discipline

2017-09-24 13:13:54 UTC

It's really just a two-hour a day commitment for everything, with room for a once per week break. So I agree the tricky part for guys is probably going to be maintaining it in the long run, to stay focused on your our paths over months and years.

2017-09-25 01:58:12 UTC

I thought I was a freak for thinking this way, too. People often call me a Renaissance man, and sometimes question me when I state what "I'm in to". It's great to see other people making sure they are well rounded. Even with all that said, I often feel as if I could and should do more.

2017-09-25 01:58:17 UTC
2017-09-25 01:58:58 UTC

My spiritual brother in PA is like this in a different way.

2017-09-25 01:59:36 UTC

He has a family, but can often out perform his childless peers handily.

2017-09-25 02:01:00 UTC

My grandma who was raised in the Third Reich was taught to be well rounded and productive, while still maintaining a feminine aura.

2017-09-25 02:02:59 UTC

Thanks for sharing this, brother.

2017-09-25 02:44:04 UTC

@Deleted User I just typed mine up. I have a binder/daily planner I coordinate this all through. Every sunday I plan out my weekly goals and everynight before bed I plan out my next day.

https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/322711183503130635/361704377821691905/IE_Goals_List.docx

2017-09-25 02:47:35 UTC

Ill also be looking into the books you mentioned, thanks.

2017-09-25 09:39:07 UTC

@Bayernmensch#6240 Thanks brother I am glad to know there are other guys who believe in this approach. There's still plenty of time in the day to specialize, but I feel like we should have a broad foundation.

2017-09-25 09:40:49 UTC

@Brandon Ironside- ND That's perfect! I'd really encourage more guys - especially the younger guys - to come @here, have a look at your document, and do a similar write-up.

2017-09-25 09:41:16 UTC

i should do this

2017-09-25 09:41:49 UTC

Aye brother. These outlines can be really helpful.

2017-09-25 11:40:53 UTC

@Deleted User Its hard for me to put into words how much of a postive impact having long term goals, broken into short term, then implemented on a weekly/daily basis has had. Just remember: small action every day/week + long time period = big change. I could write pages on this but im guessing most people dont need advice from a internet fashy Tony Robbins knockoff haha.

2017-09-25 12:22:22 UTC

I suspect quite a few of us could write volumes on this. I get called a Renaissance man too, because of obvious reasons. I think it's valuable for you, me, others like us to write about these things, and why we are like this, and why it's valuable for our people, our culture, etc. Men of a certain caliber had much more expected of them in the past, in terms of breadth. The environment *demanded* much more of them. Specialization and the comforts of the modern world made that less crucial. Providing your own take on the ways and means to be all you can be and are, again, has value. Your writing may resonate with someone where Tony Robbins or others, or my writing, may not resonate. And inspire and guide and assist those for whom it does.

2017-09-25 12:37:00 UTC

@Why Tea I find myself agreeing with your words, I'll mull over some ideas!

2017-09-25 12:39:20 UTC

*Men of a certain caliber had much more expected of them in the past, in terms of breadth. The environment demanded much more of them.* Awesome lines.

2017-09-25 12:39:43 UTC

@Deleted User Maybe a members articles channel may be useful, where members can write articles, you can act like an editer, then post them all to an articles channel? just an idea

2017-09-25 12:40:42 UTC

Interesting idea - wha kinds of articles are you thinking?

2017-09-25 12:42:51 UTC

basically typed topics that don't fit anywhere else, for example an article "self improvement from a European perspective" comes to mind after the recent discussion.

2017-09-25 12:43:57 UTC

I don't know how many others are interested in writing though

2017-09-25 12:44:45 UTC

I would take a swing at that article and others could too, get different perspectives

2017-09-25 12:47:53 UTC

I'll move this to sme

2017-09-25 15:06:04 UTC

Excellent goal listing @Brandon Ironside- ND

2017-09-25 15:07:57 UTC

After seeing our other server on both of your lists, I'd like to mention to @everyone that if you are interested in our ancestors heritage please send me a DM and I'll invite you to the Northern European Spirituality server I run with some great people.

2017-09-25 15:09:15 UTC

We cover Germanic/Nordic, Celtic, Slavic cultures, and have weekly chats where we discuss lore, Spirituality, community, and a lot more.

2017-09-25 15:10:32 UTC

Thanks for the invite @Deleted User

2017-09-25 15:10:37 UTC

We have a hike planned in WV in October, and a few Midwest meet ups soon.

2017-09-25 15:10:40 UTC

2017-09-25 15:11:04 UTC

Hi!!

2017-09-25 15:11:48 UTC

Welcome @Volkmom

2017-09-25 15:12:02 UTC

Thank you!

2017-09-26 02:50:31 UTC

Ok. Don't ban me for this one Haha. But can we have an environment channel? Immigration is destroying land and the massive sprawl. A lot of good groups doing positive work and I feel this is a great way to work towards getting environmentalist back into no population growth.

2017-09-26 02:52:08 UTC

Avoid the Sierra club. The Nature Conservancy is great. In each State there are other groups geared to local issues etc. Numbersusa.com pushes the environment issue regarding immigration as well.

2017-09-26 02:53:33 UTC

And why can't I post in gardening lessons? @moderator

2017-09-26 02:54:00 UTC

You have to be labeled a "subject matter expert" to post in a lessons channel.

2017-09-26 02:54:19 UTC

you can post in gardening-discussions though

2017-09-26 02:54:23 UTC

Ah ok

2017-09-26 02:54:49 UTC

Ok. Thanks!

2017-09-26 15:06:59 UTC

Going to try and make a write up similar to yours William and Engineer. Very good to have things on paper like thta.

2017-09-26 15:07:01 UTC

that

2017-09-26 20:15:26 UTC

@BryceB-ND look forward to seeing it!

Any need for a sales and marketing thread?

2017-09-27 01:46:20 UTC

Good topic @AltRightMick, useful skill no matter what field you're in.

2017-09-27 01:47:40 UTC

I'm in sales as well.

2017-09-27 01:48:49 UTC

my job is basically to get the real value of a property. mostly maths and market value research. riviting stuff i know but it makes good money.

2017-09-27 01:50:13 UTC

I have lots of sales experience but I never got good at it. I can make connections but I suck at persuasion.

2017-09-27 01:56:20 UTC

Yes, definitely make a sales channel. *Everyone* is in sales, whether they know it or not.

2017-09-27 01:57:30 UTC

The people that don't know it will get the most out of it.

2017-09-27 02:00:44 UTC

2017-09-27 13:17:08 UTC

Anyone here involved in aviation? @ me

2017-09-27 13:45:28 UTC

Anyone bought land?? I have read a few books, but still a lot of unanswered questions. Just want to buy a little piece of rural property. Likely in an area to be developed and then sell for good profit to really buy some acreage.

2017-09-27 14:34:41 UTC

depends on what type of land you want.

2017-09-27 14:35:47 UTC

@Deleted User forest, open/grassy, furtile, also where in the US?

2017-09-27 14:36:36 UTC

also there is the issue sometimes of not having access because the parcel is surrounded by other people so you have to make a deal with the other land owners.

2017-09-27 14:37:48 UTC

also open land is fairly easy to find but do you want one with a small house on it already?

2017-09-27 14:42:20 UTC

@Deleted User No house on it. Looking in rural Florida but near sprawl. My idea is anything now that will be developed. Then use the profit to buy a good amount and preserve and possibly build on later.

2017-09-27 14:42:46 UTC

Yes, true on the access rights.

2017-09-27 14:45:31 UTC

so to know what will be developed you have to look into what buisnesses are moving there that will draw people. for example in nNV up here in Reno the Tesla giga factory is up and running, this is brining allot of people to start moving to Silver Springs, Dayton, and other smaller towns around the Reno/Carson area. you could have made an investment on a large piece of literal desert land that has access rights and sold it 2-10 years later for a profit because people are moving out there (depending on where the property is exactly).

2017-09-27 14:46:34 UTC

one guy up here bought 50 acres just outside of silver springs all with access. he is going to make bank in a few years.

2017-09-27 14:47:35 UTC

We have a huge place called the Villages in Orlando metro. Boomers retiring and it is growing so fast. If you buy out 5 miles, it will be developed. I love the environment and hate the idea of selling to developers, but will happen either way. Then make enough to really have a homestead.

2017-09-27 14:48:30 UTC

In the meantime a place for 2nd Amendment activities, camping etc.

2017-09-27 14:48:55 UTC

my plan is to buy 10+ acres somewhere in PA. forest and either no house or little house on top of it.

2017-09-27 14:49:56 UTC

Nice. Jewerly, fancy cars aren't my idea of being rich. Land is where it is at and all the freedom it brings!

2017-09-27 14:50:54 UTC

land prices have been going up tho. not as fast as home prices but yea

2017-09-27 14:50:58 UTC

I know a couple millionaires with hundreds of acres. You would never know. 20 year old truck and down to earth af

2017-09-27 14:52:09 UTC

Could sell and live anywhere, but never will. Not giving up that peaceful lifestyle.

2017-09-27 14:53:35 UTC

Thanks for the chat @Deleted User best of luck to you too in your search.

2017-09-27 14:55:14 UTC

As they say, the further North you go in Florida, the further South you are. The panhandle area is THE deep South and the hospitality that comes with it.

2017-09-27 15:18:58 UTC

Buying land in MT can be cheaper than purchasing a small house in the inner city, alot of factors at play. I'd choose land over urban residence any day.
