Maybe someone is concerned about their wages, and you can talk about how immigration has a negative impact on wages.

There's plenty of non-spergy ways to talk about this stuff

The weight you have in a conversation is going to heavily relate to the weight you carry. Who are you? What do you do with your life? Do you have a lot of social or financial capital? Or are you just some guy quoting statistics?
