The engineer asks him, "what the heck did you do that for? Now we're late for the conference *and* you started a fire!"
The mathematician smiles and responds, "I've reduced our problem to one we already know how to solve!" ๐
lmao
That mathematician must have been Antifa if he was destroying trash cans.
A mathematician, physicist and engineer come across a large room with a beautiful woman in a bed on the other side
A demon appears and says if you can get to her she's yours
However you can only travel half of the distance to her, and half of you previously traveled distance each subsequent time
The mathematician says " at that rate of halfing I'll never get to her" so he dejectedly leaves
Sure it works in practice @ThisIsChris, but does it work in theory?
The physicist says " I'll only get to her after an infinite amount of time" so he dejectedly leaves
The Freiheit says, "I'll just walk double the distance between us and walk half way back."
The engineer looks acros the room, does some mental math and walks halfway.
The demon asks why is he going, he'll never make it
The engineer replies, "yeah, but in a bout five minutes I'll be close enough for it not to matter"
lmao
Engineers are the real chads
wrong.gif
The flat earther walks around her.
@Ecarttev that's a good one
speaking of engineers
there's a lot of obscure engineering degrees that make massive amounts of money
seems like a pretty smart choice
especially since some of them probably aren't *that* difficult, it's just that they make a lot of money because everyone focuses on the "cool" sounding degrees like computer science
Petroleum engineer starts at like 96k I heard
@Jacob
> the "cool" sounding degrees like computer science
to be completely honest
I chose my degree because "I'm 16 and this sounds fun"
@Ecarttev and no greenies going into petroleum engineering ๐
honestly we shouldn't be letting kids choose degrees lmao
In a lot of countries they have a fixed number of seats per degree
So, ya know, if you score highest on the philosophy exam then yeah ok the state will subsidize your philosophy education
but if you're like the 200th kid in the country on philosophy, sorry bucko but pickup a STEM degree
that's pretty based
every country should do that
I mostly agree, but I worry what would happen if the rootless cosmopolitan financiers and journalists got total control of those testing institutions
"Oh you think marriage is between a man and a woman? Sorry we don't have enough seats in theology for you this year"
so, I kinda agree but it's a double-edged sword
I can see a time soon when it's all online, and minimal formal University learning will occur
Soon ( TM)
@ThisIsChris ya I guess
but I mean once we change the system
@Jacob yeah definitely
We can make it in our image
@Jacob Any obscure engineering degrees you'd recommend? I'm going for my engineering degree right now.
oh my life is kind of a mess right now so I'm not in a positions to give recommendations
I live off $10,000 a year lol
but I mean if you're curious just look up "highest paying degrees"
Okay, thanks
Some chick at the bar asked if I was a feminist after dancing with her for 2 seconds. I said โonly a littleโ and next thing you know I have a middle finger from her friend on my nose. Told her โthank you for being tolerant of my beliefs.โ
Next time Ill just say Im muslim fuck it.
Epic.
โHave I got a hijab to sell you honeyโ
@Evan honestly though, I would urge everyone to look into options besides college
Idk, I did that for a bit. But school does push me more than just doing it on my own.
Petroleum Engineering
It's not like I'm gonna get feminist brainwashed
If youโre willing to live in more obscure locales
no no no that's not the issue
I've taken SJW classes and I turned out fine after them
it's just that college is a huge time and money drain
I've heard good things about Petroleum engineering.
I know there was a big boom of petroleum engineering
There's a Packaging Science degree that apparently makes a lot of money
how hard can that be?
literally designing boxes
jesus christ
only drawback is it sounds uncool
Even above โhow much does it make,โ consider โcould I do this every day and not fall into existential depressionโ
my uncle was one of these engineers that designed things like door handels
but at least with that, after a decade he moved past it
I find computer science pretty depressing tbh lol
@Jacob logistics centered majors are great.
Kind of interested in getting a political science degree but it's useless
Also I might get expelled
check this website out
it's for Washington but I mean you're in Oregon so it can't be that different
and you probably know some of these schools
my advice is, always consider the economy. that is, if it goes to hell, what types of jobs would still remain critical?
If with a political science degree youโre trying to go to law school, Iโd suggest you get a degree in something else. You can get into law or medical school with a degree in anything.
Diversity studies of course
My uncle got into medical school with a degree in furniture design.
AHAHAHAHA
Nah would just be a bachelors
okay this actually looks kinda difficult
Might do buissiness and economics because that's close and more practical
Also not terribly difficult
Math is very concrete
my friend is the same age as me and she makes $21 an hour starting
literally more than my mom
only took like an 8 month course
I feel like if I go to college in going to be sipping the go off juice on day one and reveal my power level
I reveal my power level daily
I took a cultural studies class with a super leftist professor and was constantly revealing it
still got an A in the class
Petroleum engineering 4 lyfe
Howโs this for anti white propaganda: โThere is no such thing as an innocent whites person, because every one is a potential ni**er killerโ- Line from Song of Solomon, the book weโve been assigned
Yikes.
what class, if you don't mind me asking?
English
Unfortunately I have to take it this year
I'd report that book and teacher to the SPLC
Pretty sure theyโd concur with that message
Yeah that teacher needs a little attention
lol
Given that it was released in the 70's - and it's message.. I'd say there's little disagreement.
>Song of Solomon...
Oh and of course it talks about men abandoning their wives too
Smh
Smwh
(Shaking my white head)
Well, it's not like the target audience reads it anyway...doubtful it had an impact.
Does anyone have interesting or unique non-political hobbies?
Personally I am into bonsai collecting as well as tinkering on cars and motorcycles - sometimes for profit.
I collect books
(I know, big surprise on that one)
I also lift/do calesthenics/box, but most members should be doing that.
@Salo Saloson Anything in particular?
I'll tinker with motorcycles a little bit
i have at least
Krav Maga (yes I know where it comes from) and trumpet
at the moment I've been working on trying to hunt down a pretty rare book from the 30s
doesn't it come from california
@Papa Pizzagate everyone here is into keto
Israel
@Jacob Thats not a hobby lol.
israel just paid some guy to come up with it
I'd do my Egyptology stuff more, but that's hard to do these days
i gotta fact check
I'm doing alot less of that myself, focusing on fasting more.
@Salo Saloson very cool.
@Papa Pizzagate if reading about politics is a hobby, isn't reading about nutrition a hobby?
Israel, California...hardly a difference
@Jacob It's just a diet.
We have more Mexicans though.
I'd love to start a companion or hobby business someday, importing Kei cars and vans from japan.
nvrm on the krav maga
Really unique stuff that you ~~never~~ seldom see stateside...
Kei are cool
๐ณ what counts as a hobby?
Collecting stamps
wow weird stuff. never seen those
tbh I don't even like politics it's just too important not to think about
Collecting newspaper headlines of crimes committed by tan Germans
Idk, something you do for fun and personal fulfillment. I asked specifically non political though. I think most here share that in common.
Ian is building profiles of us for dox
Don't trust
I disavow
@Freiheit - CA Yeah I found a really cool YT channel with a Kei collector. He;s got some interesting stuff. Besides specialized businesses, the west coast is where it's at.
I'm basically just at school all the time, and the gym. I've hardly had time for anything else
people read about nutrition for fun and personal fulfillment
@Freiheit - CA We have new people joining every day. Not everyone will know that you're just joking and that we're friends.
I'd be careful about saying stuff like that.
Lol
I used to go to the gym a lot but now since I live off campus it's really annoying to walk 30 minutes both ways every time I wanna work out so I've just been doing push ups and stuff
I stopped talking to girls irl because @Papa Pizzagate always shows up and calls me thirsty when I meet someone interesting
Haha
whos got the best deadlift in ie
thats the real question
Ian does
Probably one of the Jersey guys.
lol
LOL No! not me @Freiheit - CA
๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ
outside of politics I talk to girls more than I talk to guys these days
Chad
not even purposely it just kinda happened that way
Better buy that KIA
Nick and PTSD Jaji put up MASSIVE numbers.
my mom called me 4 times in a row yesterday to yell at me for wanting to buy it
Make sure you have a comf passenger seat with a warmer
I probably won't buy it
cozy
Are you looking for a car, Jacob?
I have an offer
What year is the KIA?
2002
hmm
Milage?
Price?
200 something thousand
$500
Don't touch it.
Automatic I assume?
no it's manual
That's the only reason it made it to 200k
an optima?
Spectra
Trust Ian @Jacob he's a car whisperer
I feel like for that price I might as well
but I probably won't
You'll spend what you're saving on the transmission is my guess
I mean, a running driving car for 500 is always a decent deal, but Kia was a rough brand 17 years ago.
Based on what @Papa Pizzagate is saying
if it breaks I could sell it for parts
you probably don't want to part it
@Papa Pizzagate to answer your earlier question about hobbies. I canoe, backpack, nordic ski and dogsled often.
it would take a yard and a lot of time
They had so-so engines and terrible transmissions, but given it's a manual that's one issue eliminated.
I'd just sell the whole thing and someone could use it for parts
you may be able to auction it off or have a junk yard take it
Evan is right, you'd sell it to a scrap yard for like $150, best case scenerio.
exactly
someone else will part
it
anyway all of this is probably a moot point since I'm probably not gonna end up buying any car any time soon
Well let me know when you're ready to buy. Bring me a budget and what kind of vehicle you want. I've gotten some incredible deals on craigslist for myself, friends and family.
What do You want from the vehicle? Transport of you, goods, people, all three?
make sure if you go on craigslist to post a similar car but for slightly less
the other person selling will see that as if thats what they sell for
@Papa Pizzagate oh I'm ready, I'm just tired of being borderline emotionally abused by my parents every time I try to make a decision they don't like
Holy smokes @Evan that is too clever!
so I usually do what they say so they calm down
<:4dchess:439923932062154782>
@Freiheit - CA I want to stop breaking my back and making multiple trips a week to buy groceries
Just get one of those chinese lady grocery strollers.
@Jacob Carabiner
sounds like your life will improve drastically with a car. Just get one even if you have to pick up a few a hours a week
Yeah, do you have a bus stop nearby? @Jacob I used panniers on my bicycle for months before I got my motorcycle.
yes
it's still a pain in the ass
Get a cart
@Evan my quality of life will probably decrease when you factor in the extra harassment from my parents
Two big carabiners
I haven't owned a car since 2014 - it has saved me a lot of money just relying on public transit
Yesterday my mom called me 4 times in the span of like 30 minutes to yell at me about how I caused their divorce and I'm literally giving her health problems... because I considered buying a car
Ask your parents for a ride then.
Oh...nvm
also biking
I don't think my parents want to drive 5 hours across the state to take me to the grocery store
and I genuinely rather break my back than be in the car with them
Lol
My mom would offer me rides to work when I lived with her and I would never accept because they drive me insane
If they are 5 hours away, do they have to know
my dad sees my bank account
@Nemets I disagree on public transportation, but it's likely cheaper where you are. I still bike often for groceries.
@Jacob open a new account and save
uhhh ya I rather not get my ass beaten when they somehow find out
yeah, no need to cause a rift in family over a car
oh the rift is there and it's permanent
One time my mom threatened to stab herself and blame it on me... because I was up too late
my parents are genuinely crazy
kurwa...
@Nemets also very good to see you, wish we could have talked more, everything was so busy
I mean, oof!
๐ฏ
@Freiheit - CA nice to see you too man - you gotta come down to LA sometimes
or just invite me to a norcal event
Maybe you guys should plan a huge action on a Sunday.
We can do that also
