2018-09-17 02:33:50 UTC

it's also a version of the prisoner's dilemma

2018-09-17 02:34:20 UTC

in order to control population of the world, we must all (we is all races) take measures to limit population growth

2018-09-17 02:34:39 UTC

but if even one race ignores that, then they will overpower the other identities

2018-09-17 02:35:06 UTC

so if one identity is growing at tremendous speeds, in order to survive the other races have to do the same

2018-09-17 02:35:16 UTC

and then we have an even larger growth rate

2018-09-17 02:35:46 UTC

What's a wholesome movie I can watch tonight?

2018-09-17 02:36:00 UTC

mm. I have mixed thoughts on that point - but mostly I agree.

2018-09-17 02:36:36 UTC

@micbwilli watch a John Wayne western

2018-09-17 02:36:38 UTC

Most of Japan is not arable, so they develop up instead of out and simply import food. America is the leading food exporter and has space for suburbs (though their cultural impact is negative) so it makes sense for us to have sprawl

2018-09-17 02:37:12 UTC

Man it's been years since I watched one of those. Good idea man. ๐Ÿ˜€

2018-09-17 02:37:22 UTC

Speaking of westerns and the orient - anyone seen *The Good, The Bad and the Weird*?

2018-09-17 02:38:17 UTC

Korean make spaghetti western style film. I found it pretty enjoyable.

2018-09-17 02:38:31 UTC

@YourFundamentalTheorum Number only matter in certain types of combat. If you have sufficient placement and tech you can take on a much larger army than yourself.

2018-09-17 02:38:48 UTC

I wasn't talking exclusively about combat

2018-09-17 02:39:07 UTC

other types of competitive activities experience this

2018-09-17 02:39:33 UTC

Oh I see. Your getting into thing like the migrant crisis as well.

2018-09-17 02:39:49 UTC

@TMatthews wouldnโ€™t it make sense if your land is not arable, to then sprawl it and not build up, as there is plenty of land that farmed and has no other use than to be enjoyed?

2018-09-17 02:39:49 UTC

Has anyone here read Camp of the Saints?

2018-09-17 02:40:01 UTC

Really nice book.

2018-09-17 02:40:37 UTC
2018-09-17 02:40:42 UTC

long time no see.

2018-09-17 02:40:48 UTC

@TMatthews like wouldnโ€™t it make more sense to build up if your land is very farmable?

2018-09-17 02:40:53 UTC

@Deleted User hey brotha

2018-09-17 02:41:04 UTC

You coming to Defend the Rockies?

2018-09-17 02:41:39 UTC

I am unfortunately not. Have a lot of of things going on

2018-09-17 02:42:18 UTC

When Japan invaded China they had large uninhabited areas they had to pass through. It used up a lot of resources and made it hard to hold captured areas. They usually had to genocide whole cities rather than leave them behind their lines. @โšกClarkโšก

2018-09-17 02:43:17 UTC

I made myself sad... ๐Ÿ˜”

2018-09-17 02:43:34 UTC

2018-09-17 02:55:56 UTC

2018-09-17 02:57:31 UTC

2018-09-17 02:57:35 UTC

"hey what's going on big guy?"

2018-09-17 02:58:24 UTC

@micbwilli wholesome? Can't go wrong with Studio Ghibli

2018-09-17 03:05:56 UTC

Just not grave of fireflies

2018-09-17 03:06:26 UTC

I've already watched most of them.

2018-09-17 03:06:31 UTC

Howlโ€™s moving castle, Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, all comfy

2018-09-17 03:06:46 UTC

I just like watching how they do backgrounds

2018-09-17 03:06:47 UTC

They are super comfy.

2018-09-17 03:07:54 UTC

I remember seeing Princess Mononoke 15 years ago. I think it was the first DVD I ever owned.

Comfy childhood memories

2018-09-17 03:10:16 UTC

2018-09-17 03:10:25 UTC

Finna boutta become an uncle

2018-09-17 03:10:26 UTC

Oosh. That sounds...awful.

2018-09-17 03:10:30 UTC

What did you study?

2018-09-17 03:11:12 UTC

Ah, just some stuff on motor development in children

2018-09-17 03:11:39 UTC

Plus some stuff that dealt with the cerebellum, which I'm thankful that I'm already well aware of due to the neurology class I took last year

2018-09-17 03:12:03 UTC

It's really interesting stuff that will translate well into what I want to do career wise though

2018-09-17 03:12:23 UTC

So it isn't as dreadful as my English classes were

2018-09-17 03:12:55 UTC

english classes are often dreadful

2018-09-17 03:13:02 UTC

will have to agree with you there

2018-09-17 03:17:34 UTC

My favorite of the new CK memes

2018-09-17 03:17:56 UTC

Freshman English classes are miserable

2018-09-17 03:18:30 UTC

Useless busywork which boils down to just โ€œare you capable of conducting a train of thought for 3 pages?โ€

2018-09-17 03:18:38 UTC

The answer for a lot of people is no, apparently

2018-09-17 03:18:52 UTC

I liked mine. We had to make a movie for our final project. We did a modern version of The Wife of Bath.

2018-09-17 03:19:11 UTC

She was one of the more interesting Canterbury tales individuals

2018-09-17 03:19:39 UTC

We had a part with a fog machine and Stranglehold by Ted Nugent.

2018-09-17 03:20:27 UTC

We just got to peer-review a lot of papers written at a solid 5th grade level

2018-09-17 03:20:39 UTC

peer reviews suck

2018-09-17 03:20:51 UTC

many people who can't write submit their papers, and your job is to tell them nicely that they suck

2018-09-17 03:21:07 UTC

Itโ€™s hard to even start a lot of times

2018-09-17 03:21:14 UTC

https://youtu.be/0c3d7QgZr7g

This is great to listen to while moving the yard and sipping.

2018-09-17 03:21:21 UTC

Like โ€œhoo wow I donโ€™t even know where to begin with thisโ€

2018-09-17 03:21:34 UTC

By the way guys: the skills server has a homework-help channel. And no we don't mind just giving you the answers

2018-09-17 03:21:34 UTC

I guess it's better in Bama

2018-09-17 03:21:46 UTC

Depending.

2018-09-17 03:21:58 UTC

I peer-reviewed a lot of inner city papers.

2018-09-17 03:22:08 UTC

So let me know if you need an invite to the skills & academics server

2018-09-17 03:22:28 UTC

I remember last semester Sunday night was the busiest time for that channel

2018-09-17 03:22:37 UTC

Bama is nice, but it's has some crazy pockets of diversity.

2018-09-17 03:22:37 UTC

I tend to be brutal in terms of encouraging people to delete sentences and paragraphs

2018-09-17 03:23:00 UTC

The homework help server is nice- they patched me through understand the Black-Scholes formula last semester lmao

2018-09-17 03:23:06 UTC

yeah i probably had the worst reviews in terms of helpfullness

2018-09-17 03:23:29 UTC

@ophiuchus that's great, glad it helped!

2018-09-17 03:23:30 UTC

Of course the problem would be that I forgot to close some parentheses

2018-09-17 03:23:41 UTC

@ThisIsChris can you send me inv?

2018-09-17 03:23:45 UTC

or is it member only

2018-09-17 03:23:54 UTC

It's always the parentheses.

2018-09-17 03:23:58 UTC

The best essays are ones that only have a couple sentences that are the same as the first draft

2018-09-17 03:23:58 UTC

Sometimes itโ€™s helpful just to have people look at your stuff, you know. You get blind-sighted.

2018-09-17 03:24:33 UTC

@YourFundamentalTheorum it is IE official, but for the purposes of joining the server Pledge is good enough, I will DM you the invite now

2018-09-17 03:24:41 UTC

The Chad parentheses vs the virgin bracket

2018-09-17 03:24:50 UTC

This had me rolling yesterday.
