Mine just reassigned a lot of Great Britain to Scotland/Ireland, which is a bit odd since Iโm only an 8th Irish. I think differentiating between those two is kinda murky though. Only other thing it did is delete some low confidence and wrap it in to Sweden, for some reason.
My estimate changed from 99% European to 100% European. ๐
Yeah the 1% jewish thing seems to be disappearing for everyone, imagine that? <:really:453005408064241674>
Yup I lost mine too....
So glad it's gone...
I'm finally part of the ๐ฏ club. ๐ช๐ป
My 0.1% ashkenazi went bye felicia too!
I guess theyโve basically decided to stop trolling. I know someone who got .1% SE Asian which made absolutely no sense
Looks like Ancestry.com was #110. <:teehee:381917632359563264>
Maybe they were sued for not providing the service they were paid for...failure to deliver
My best work
Good ole' Talcum X. ๐๐ป
@NITRODUBS that is such great placement
I'm pretty suspicious of Ancestry. They just updated their results (which they have done a number of times) but the results seem strange. My wife whose family is German (and her old results put her at 31% German her highest percentage) now they have her at like 70% English and 10 percent German. Our whole family has seen the same kind of heavy skews toward English. I was majority French now I'm 60% English and 12 French. It seams weird. Also some low confidence categories that we saw verified by looking at the family tree are gone all together.
Yeah, it is strange how much the results changed.
My Scandinavian parts are half what they were and my English (Scottish to be more accurate) went up.
And the "Western Europe" (my mom is at least part French considering her maiden name) is mostly gone.
Iโll never shake that 1% North African
any excuse to get rid of ypipo history
all universitites should be defunded and turned into free/ low cost housing for veterans
she swore on the quran
Minnesota... what're you doing
I feel like I'm the Ancient Aliens guy asking the audience "is cuckoldry like this possible? yes it is."
Minessota is basically going to be "New Somalia" in a few decades.
It was already new Sweden
Both old Sweden and new Sweden will become new Somalia
Weโll have to call Minnesota new New Somalia
yeah, those Swedes sure seem to love their Somalis. ๐
they won't even screen them for health problems
which is truly baffling
According to the new Ancestry results, I have a 2% chance of attracting Somalis to my area.
(makes me glad they're not leaking over into this state)
yeah, its insane they aren't even vetting these people for diseases. ๐
how is not wanting your country infested with disease "racist" (which is I'm sure why they aren't doing it)?
They are bringing diseases here that have been gone for over a century.
4% for me :(( I donโt think I have any Swedish in my though, even though my momโs grandmother was from Denmark.
Welcome to Minneapolis! Home of the only Onchocerciasis in the Western Hemisphere!
"River Blindness". Sounds lovely.
if i'm <2% from asia minor, does that mean i can get free housing in sweden?
@Asatru Artist - MD look up โguinea wormโ if you want a real kicker
Kinda graphic, so Iโm not going to post it here
You canโt pull it out or youโd break it, so you have to slowly wind it around a stick- a little more each day, until you get it out.
Half of the time I go out, somalis find me and ask to live in my house. All makes sense now
Itโs thought the Caduceus, that medical symbol youโve seen a billion times, might come from the process of extracting a guinea worm.
Wow!
More and more politicians are coming out with this rhetoric
Salvini & Orban!
now if only we could get our own to speak up
at least rand paul is condemning involvement in syria
@Wood-Ape - OK/MN They're already in an alliance.
They need more help in international nationalism.
these days, you're either an international nationalist or a globalist
My Ancestry results also skewed heavily towards English but in my case that actually makes perfect sense
And is in line now with my LivingDNA results, so I'm inclined to think it's accurate
an Anglo conspiracy is afoot, methinks.
I mean, it makes sense. Anyone whose family has been in America for a long time is probably going to have some English in them
It'd be pretty hard not to
Yeah Iโm still majority beady
Be awsome for Trump to step in on Hungarys side with their battle with the E.U. Someone should start a petition.
Iโm also pretty sure that German/Irish census data responses are kinda inaccurate, because their self reported. So, if you donโt know about your heritage, youโll likely just respond with whatever youโve been told (which can be wildly inaccurate, like the Cherokee princess story.)
Iโd wager the majority of old-stock Americans are mostly English, with some other stuff in there as well.
Not that any of this matters now. No matter what boat you came over on, weโre in the same boat now.
I've noticed a ton of people in the South weirdly think they're Irish. I have no idea why because there actually aren't many Irish people in the South, currently or historically. Southerners are overwhelmingly English and Scottish.
@ThisIsChris Iโd wager English, but Iโm not certain.
Yeah, where did the name Scots-Irish come from?
@Sherlock Iโve met like 4 billion people who think theyโre Irish and Cherokee.
The Scots-Irish are Scots who lived in Ireland.
So have I haha
It's strange
I think that's part of the issue. A lot of Southerners are Scots-Irish and I guess they think their Scottish names are Irish names
From the English plantation of Ulster, begun during the Tudor era. Ulster (northern Ireland,) was considered a pretty backwater area, so the English decided to pacify it by importing a lot of Scots to settle there.
A lot of those Scots later dipped and moved to the Carolinas, etc.
This is likely where the โirish southernerโ thing came from- they had ancestors from Ireland, they just werenโt ethnically irish.
The โCherokee bloodโ thing comes from family folk legend and owo Muh native blood woo.
Youโll notice itโs literally always Cherokee. No one ever claims to be Creek or Muskogee or anything.
The great irony is that the Scots invaded Caledonia during the collapse of Western Rome
Yeah my grandfather insists we're part Cherokee to this day even though me and my dad have both had DNA tests and both had 0% Native American DNA
@TylerHess yeah, Scottish Gaelic is actually descended from Middle Irish. The Picts were there before them.
I was quite disappointed to discover I was 0.4% Indian. Some dalliance in the 17th century. F-ing thot.
@Sherlock same, although โSiouxโ because his father was from Missouri. I looked- surprise, he was from Coventry.
Lol
There doesnโt seem to be that family folk history thing in the north, for some reason.
You never meet someone from Massachusetts claiming to be โpart Narragansettโ
It's quite strange
Maybe our grandfathers just grew up lusting after hot Indian chicks in cowboy movies
idk
I wonder who produced those cowboy movies
maybe the Cherokee girls just like white guys...
Well Mexican ones definitely do, for whatever that's worth
I think itโs probably out of the deep seated desire everyone has to belong to a group of people. Since โwhite southernerโ has become demonized, they go with the strange โCherokeeโ angle.
Incidentally, my grandmotherโs husband was actually a Cherokee (you can tell by looking at my half-aunts and uncles.) He uh. Got drunk and beat her a lot, so she remarried a white guy from Texas (my grandfather.)
Nice guy
You have my mom and her sister who look incredibly Caucasian, then I have an aunt who looks like she came from one of those velvet paintings with the moon and wolves and dream catchers etc.
The โdrunk Indianโ stereotype is apparently quite true, unfortunately.
I have some distant cousins who got with blacks, but otherwise my family is huwhite af
I think I remember reading that natives literally lack the enzyme that lets them break down alcohol.
