gen x and boomers went through disco fever
gen y had it's own fever with mtv and rap culture
Entire swathes of the country have been ruined thanks to globalism
Itโs not really a personal responsibility issue. If you remove economic opportunities from a certain area, people are going to fall into poverty.
Letโs find a new topic please
So what are approved topics that we can actually discuss?
Why can there not be some pushback on subjects like this?
Can we just sperg about Juice and race/IQ?
how about this...
Anyone got some recommendations for good classical music?
No vocals, I'm not really into Opera or the like.
Rule 2 is open-ended for a reason. If a topic becomes too divisive, we ask people to continue the discussion elsewhere.
In terms of classical music, Iโm a fan of composers like Beethoven, Strauss, Holst, etc.
Does Carl Orff count?
the Choir i sing with performed "Requiem for the Living by Dan Forrest" last year and it was such a beautiful piece. Mostly in Latin... very moving. Dan Forrest is a pretty young guy but he comes up with amazing stuff.
Vivaldi, Rachmaninoff and Paganini for me
*jots all these funny European names down for Spotify later*
Schubert is also really good
if you guys want to listen to it as you fall asleep tonight... it is such a beautiful touching piece. and .... i d like to point out the entirely white choir LOL
Tchaikovsky
My absolute favorite piece of all time https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NqAOGduIFbg
Anyone excited for deer season?
@Wood-Ape - OK/MN gonna try to head up north to my buddies land this season
Fill the freezer
do you guys have Mule deer in OK or just White Tailed Deer?
@Wood-Ape - OK/MN Iโm pretty pumped
Deer chili is my fav
The original NazBol composer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y4U7wNZu-CU
I like the impressionists alot, both in music and art.
people have given me shit for it before.
Mostly white tail and elk in SWOK. Mule up in the panhandle.
Turkey and Boar everywhere
right on.
Because impressionism was perhaps the first deviation from classical art and painting and signaled a step away from objective beauty to a slightly more subjective study of the topic - I read impressionism and viewing art through a lense though.
@Virgil I wouldn't want to be listening to "Storm" in my car...I'd end up getting a speeding ticket first time out. ๐ณ
The land my father, grandfather, and great-grandfather were raised on still has our hunting "lodge" on it. No place I value more.
Gotta get myself down to hog hunt down south. I'd love to do that sometime.
@Deleted User Impressionists are like fancy color by number artists.
@Asatru Artist - MD perhaps yeah, some are more talented than others. I still enjoy it though.
I remember as a kid, one of my friends moms (Peruvian lady) was a really talented paint by number artist.
@Asatru Artist - MD Honestly I listen to it to go to sleep lol
Yeah most states with a hog problem don't require a license for it as long as it isn't another season and you are on private land. In OK there are no limits on hogs taken OR firearms used!
I would be awake for hours after this music.
@Wood-Ape - OK/MN that's awesome. I'd love to arrange a private trip in a year or two.
Considering getting a 50 Beowulf for hogs lol
Well if we ever meet at a national event, then maybe you can come down here!
I'm at most of them.
For hogs all I will charge is beer
What a deal!
If I did hog hunting, it would have to be from a helicopter...that looks bada$$.
Hogs are dumb and easy enough to kill. Feels unsportsmanlike - even if they are invasive pests
Unironically my dad's friend's dad when he crashed into a hill, shooting coyote from a biplane
It does look fun though, I'll admit it!
well you can always use a spear
Impressionism is a travesty
I'm not into hunting, but if I did it, it would have to be with a bow or spear or something more "personal" and challenging.
Trad_art_critic14 has logged online
And I would have to eat whatever I killed.
Bowhunting turkey and deer is cool. Of course I support using the meat
sport hunting is big ghey to me
@Deleted User I have alerts set for when someone mentions impr*ssionism
I'd expect nothing less.
I disapprove of hunting predators in anything but defense
it doesnt let me asterisk everything now thats big dumb
although I have met fur trappers up north and have grown to understand them better
All I need is some fried chicken and grape drink!
wow @Wotan Reborn very woke and healthy as well!
nothing will get you in "shape" faster than fried chicken and faygo
Round is a shape
Lol
but yeet Impressionism is the first art period where artists really started promotng individual perception of art. It was arguably good because these guys were European, and Classically trained, but being a personal and individualistic style, it very quickly degraded. @Deleted User
@Wood-Ape - OK/MN Unless that "fur trapper" is actually wearing what he's trapping...I disapprove completely. But I'm admittedly not "in the know", so...
Impressionism isn't bad, in fact I like the experimental nature of a lot of impressionist art. It was a welcome relief from the increasingly stale and photo-realistic.
can anyone give me the tldr of the swedish election?
@Kingfish yeah I appreciate the critique but I still like the art that was produced. It wasn't good because these guys were European - it was good because they were talented.
I am talking the Canadian border and north of that. Yes, most of the fur is used as riffs on anoraks
i missed the results as well.
*ruffs
from what one member reacted, it sounded like the cucks won again
@Deleted User well I said it was because they were both European *and* classically trained. Impressionism enabled these two aspects to no longer be relevant to making good art. Imo Impressionism was good because it was made by well trained classical artists
and wildlife is actually well managed in this country for the most part. ( because it is usually a state instead of federal purview). Most weavers, otters, etc taken are at a sustainable level
Endangered species act etc is federal, but non threatened game animals are handled by State governments
@Goose The Moderate Party won, and their are center right and a center left coalitions that both stand at about 40%. Sweden Dems got around 18% of the vote and are in a kingmaker position. But since neither coalition will work with them, Sweden might have some sort of snap election soon.
dang. Why can't Marcus marry some princess and become king?
@Kingfish glad you're admitting impressionism is good now.
welcome to the winning team!
Alright so the next elections in Europe are in Bosnia, Latvia, and Luxembourg. All in October I believe. Latvia doesnโt concern me since theyโre virtually 100% white and probably wonโt change based on party control. Bosnia is is pretty white besides the occasional Turk. And Luxembourg is just about what youโd expect. Are these elections we should be paying attention to or not?
no
I never denied that the art Produced in Impressionism is bad per say, it did kind of start the beginning of the end of Classical art
Latvia is worth watching due to the NATO vs Rus dynamic
Bavaria has state elections in October
that's more worth watching
Latvia has a rising right wing base so thatโs always good. And the AfD is polling fairly strong in Bavaria. What matters now is whether or not the CSU will form a coalition with them
I'm mostly messing with you now. I agree that it's probably the high water mark of classical art - even though it opened the door for artistic decadence I appreciate it in it's own right.
not 'high water mark' - "swan song" that was the phrase I was looking for.
I also saw some people counter-signaling sports hunting. won't say those folks are wrong. but... they're wrong.
That timing
as for Bavaria: the only real question is how many votes from the non-party affiliated people and the CSU AfD steals
