2018-07-10 01:04:28 UTC

Pewds likes Mishima lol I wonder if heโ€™ll follow in his footsteps but succeed where he failed @sbbu

2018-07-10 01:05:47 UTC

i am gonna read starship troopers afterwards

2018-07-10 01:05:54 UTC

2018-07-10 01:06:02 UTC

he just happened to make a vid about it recently

2018-07-10 01:09:17 UTC

Starship troopers is great

2018-07-12 21:53:10 UTC

Should i get The Bell Curve?

2018-07-12 22:03:58 UTC

>needing to read an entire book to understand a simple concept

2018-07-12 22:04:04 UTC

No

2018-07-12 22:05:08 UTC

Yes, and throw it at people who are too dumb to understand it

2018-07-12 22:19:27 UTC

@Anon If I shouldn't get it, then where should I go to learn the concept?

2018-07-12 22:20:27 UTC

@Boffin Frog Why do you say I should get it?

2018-07-12 22:21:44 UTC

Because it's a scientific analysis of intelligence, and it absolutely destroys the political correct narrative on all fronts. It's pretty normie-friendly, too; much more mainstream than any of the other studies into this stuff.

2018-07-12 22:21:53 UTC

It's also cheap. Not a big book.

2018-07-12 22:22:11 UTC

He's right though, you shouldn't need to read it; you probably already know what it says, to be frank

2018-07-12 22:29:22 UTC

@Boffin FrogI decided not to get it, I just stuck with Nick's 3 recommendations

2018-07-12 22:34:14 UTC

That's fair.

2018-07-12 22:55:51 UTC

Just watch a short youtube video on it

2018-07-16 00:40:21 UTC

@AngloCelticRebel Read Lynn or Jared Taylor

2018-07-19 08:25:42 UTC

2018-07-19 08:25:54 UTC

i read the first 5 chapters of revolt, all he talks about is indian mystic shit

2018-07-19 09:50:45 UTC

He's not Catholic

2018-07-19 09:50:48 UTC

But

2018-07-19 09:51:18 UTC

I found his analysis of Italian fascism and the 3rd Reich to be compelling

2018-07-19 10:13:58 UTC

>be italian
>not be a catholic

2018-07-19 10:14:01 UTC

lmao look at dis nigga

I've heard about siege but idon't know what it is, should iread it?

2018-07-20 19:39:38 UTC

It seems that owing a physical copy of culture of critique is bad optics.. anyone know a link of it online?

2018-07-20 19:43:17 UTC

The Jewish Revolutionary Spirit by E. Michael Jones is much better and written from a Christian perspective

2018-07-20 21:36:02 UTC

Ok i'l look into it

2018-07-21 19:48:34 UTC

Hey guys, I was wondering if you have a link to Nick's Catholic book list he used for the debate against Styx, or a book that contains a more scientific/historical approach to establishing the existence of Christ and his Resurrection, as well as other things Jesus did in his life on Earth. I am currently a recovering atheist and am looking for a good recommendation regarding that before I delve into Aquinas

2018-07-21 19:50:32 UTC

I'll probably end up pairing what you guys recommend with Mere Christianity

Not nicks list but here's the christian reading list from /pol/ and /lit/

2018-07-21 21:12:25 UTC

my books came in today! I got who are we, coming anarchy, reflections on the rev in france, and cuckservative

2018-07-22 00:13:56 UTC

Cool, so i guess i need to read the bible front to back first, which makes the most logical sense actually, ill google around to see what the most preferred bible translations are for the Catholic Church

2018-07-22 00:19:31 UTC

@webdevanon everyone has told me to get the douay-rheim bible when i was asking that same question

2018-07-22 00:20:57 UTC

Awesome man, ill order it tonight, thanks!

2018-07-22 00:25:42 UTC

no problem, youre welcome

2018-07-27 16:59:45 UTC

@webdevanon Iโ€™ve been reading rsvce because I canโ€™t get through as much of kjv in one sitting, but itโ€™s still good and isnโ€™t missing many messages that Iโ€™ve noticed

2018-07-27 17:00:16 UTC

Just try to read like 10 chapters a day, donโ€™t burn yourself out on it

2018-07-27 17:20:23 UTC

Any of you lads read the republic?

2018-07-27 17:38:30 UTC

@Martin_Luther Iโ€™ve read some it for school, long book but the ultimate idea of philosopher king shows that monarchy is the most stable form of government

2018-07-27 20:19:24 UTC

I just finished Cuckservative

2018-07-27 20:19:28 UTC

A great read

2018-07-27 20:19:45 UTC

Will look forward to trying to get my boomer dad to read it

2018-07-27 22:03:58 UTC

@AngloCelticRebel Shit , never thought of Vod day as a good gateway but I think your right

2018-07-27 22:04:35 UTC

@Metaphysical Monarchist it was thanks to @DeplorablePapa he gave me the idea to use it as its what worked for him

2018-07-27 22:07:44 UTC

@AngloCelticRebel I always thought you gotta start cucks with Crowder, then Tucker etc but Vox truly is a great starting point for traditionalism/nationalism

2018-07-27 22:25:15 UTC

>christian reading list doesn't have Nihilism: The Root of the Revolution of the Modern Age
Incomplete

2018-07-28 06:45:43 UTC

holy shit

2018-07-28 06:45:48 UTC

why is the bell curve so big

2018-07-28 06:46:39 UTC

*slaps book* this thing can hold alot of facts

2018-07-28 13:58:43 UTC

Thank you for the book list

2018-07-31 02:56:24 UTC

tfw tried reading Evola and its too autistic

2018-07-31 16:35:04 UTC

boi

2018-07-31 17:35:03 UTC

Its basically just all occult larping. I didn't try the more political stuff like matr and ride the tiger, but I read all or most of 3 others and his idea of the way the world works is basically just goofy. There are probably fragments of truth here and there in the picture he paints but its really no more than just wacky occult shit once you get past the superficial stuff

2018-07-31 17:53:00 UTC

@Mephisto Did you read me amongst the ruins?

2018-07-31 17:54:19 UTC

no but I have it, I decided to take a break and just started on guenon

2018-07-31 17:54:23 UTC

is Matr better

2018-07-31 17:54:41 UTC

Havenโ€™t read Matr

2018-07-31 17:54:53 UTC

Men amongst the ruins is the best imo

2018-07-31 17:55:07 UTC

About traditionalism

2018-07-31 17:55:19 UTC

I read the hermetic traditon, like 2/3 or doctrine of awakening and I got half way through Revolt before I decided I was getting much out of it

2018-07-31 17:55:20 UTC

Connection of people to the land their ancestors settled

2018-07-31 17:55:37 UTC

Yeah some of his stud is way out there

2018-07-31 17:55:59 UTC

A bit of Heidegger and Nietzsche is maybe berter

2018-07-31 17:56:17 UTC

I dunno any Christian philosophers that fit the mood of them Do you?

2018-07-31 17:57:50 UTC

Men Among the Ruins: Post-War Reflections of a Radical Traditionalist https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/0892819057/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_nmkyBb23F0434

2018-07-31 17:58:02 UTC

Yeah fundamentally its basically just saying that the perennial truth is that the elite can reach an "unconditioned state" that makes them greater than God and allows them to transcend all abstractions, order/chaos and what not. It also makes you immortal essentially.
Thats his spiritual belief

I've been reading Nietzsche as well, started the Gay Science and I really like it, I've just been reading it slowly.

There's Fr Seraphim Rose who was inspired by Guenon to become Orthodox but I'm pretty sure he wasn't technically in the traditionalist school

2018-07-31 17:58:23 UTC

and then Coomaraswamy (probably spelling it wrong) was an Indian traditionalist who became Catholic

2018-07-31 17:58:34 UTC

With Nietzsche

2018-07-31 17:58:46 UTC

His best are Genolgy of morala

2018-07-31 17:58:58 UTC

I own a copy of men among the ruins

2018-07-31 17:59:02 UTC

And Thus spoke Zarathustra

2018-07-31 17:59:23 UTC

The concept of the last men is literally where we are today

2018-07-31 18:00:08 UTC

and I listened to some lectures on genealogy of morals, but havent read it, the beginning of the gay science is all I've read.

I want to read his complete works, but I'm learning German so I'm going to wait to read him until I'm proficient enough to read it in the original language

2018-07-31 18:00:16 UTC

and so much of what he says is where we are today

2018-07-31 18:00:30 UTC

Heidegger is also German

2018-07-31 18:00:36 UTC

Also worth reading

2018-07-31 18:00:43 UTC

Both better than Evola imo

2018-07-31 18:00:58 UTC

Not quite as anti Christianity imo

2018-07-31 18:03:27 UTC

He's nowhere near the sort of edgy caricature you get of him from retards, and just from what I've read so far alone its scary how insightful it is. Theres a passage in the gay science where he basically says socialism, revolutionary politics and moralistic christianity are basically what cucks mouth to keep themselves feeling dignified in conditions of servitude. Given I started out as a marxist, then was a pol larper and now I'm more into traditionalist catholicism, its making me question the underlying psychology that's driving me towards these kinds of ideologies and belief systems in the first place

And yeah theres tons of good german authors, Kant, the other idealists, hegel, schopenhauer, stirner and a lot of political writers as well

2018-07-31 18:03:45 UTC

also german mysticism interests me as well

2018-07-31 18:04:45 UTC

Neixtche is very good

2018-07-31 18:05:03 UTC

Itโ€™s not moved me away from Christianity rather towards it in a search for meaning

2018-07-31 18:10:49 UTC

The main thing its made me think about is basically the way I look at Christianity. Rather than starting from "I feel sick and can't suffer existence any longer " and becoming christian to solve the problem, I think a healthier way of looking at it would be to start from natural health and choose Christianity because you find it to be true/edifying/healthier/etc

2018-07-31 18:10:56 UTC

thats what I've gotten out of it so far

2018-07-31 18:23:07 UTC

You live healthy , wholesome and think Christianity would evaluate by being @Mephisto

2018-07-31 18:25:31 UTC

I think starting from bodily health is just generally a good idea. Thats not say the sort of asceticism and hatred of the flesh practiced for awhile was wrong but I think we're dealing with a new demon of nihilistic doubt nowadays
The Solution might be a faith that is more grounded in a sort of virility (like what evola talks about) which is grounded in a physical health

2018-07-31 18:25:45 UTC

what im saying is probably borderline heretical but im still working it out

2018-07-31 18:27:42 UTC

@Mephisto God wants you to take care of your body

2018-07-31 18:31:09 UTC

which is why I say borderline. Im going to keep trying to figure stuff out though @Metaphysical Monarchist

2018-08-05 11:20:05 UTC

i read the first couple chapters of revolt against the modern world, he just talks about poo in the loo mysticism endlessly

2018-08-05 11:20:52 UTC

overrated author

2018-08-05 14:23:44 UTC

@sbbu Just read men amongst the ruins

2018-08-05 14:58:17 UTC

is it worth it

2018-08-05 14:59:04 UTC

@sbbu this was my exact experience, I got to pg 150, not sure if i want to read the rest

2018-08-05 21:47:27 UTC

Anyone else read Book of the New Sun? Sam Hyde always used to shill for it in Q&As, really enjoying it.

2018-08-05 21:56:36 UTC

Who's it by

2018-08-06 00:39:57 UTC

Gene Wolfe

2018-08-06 00:40:09 UTC

Good Catholic

2018-08-06 01:34:40 UTC

@zuckernerd can u link where sam talked about it

2018-08-06 16:04:41 UTC

I'll look for it

2018-08-06 16:05:08 UTC

I think it was the second or third Hyde wars where he was sitting with Charls in the car

2018-08-06 16:05:30 UTC

And I think he also talked about it after "how I survived highschool"

2018-08-06 16:17:25 UTC

If you search "New Sun" in the mde subreddit you can see people talking about it. Pretty sure it was the "car sex" Hyde wars but can't find it now.

2018-08-08 01:06:46 UTC

2018-09-01 00:52:46 UTC

@Polybius I've read a good bit since last summer but the last two months I've just fallen off completely.
I want to read Mishima at some point, based samurai homsexual

2018-09-01 01:25:30 UTC

@Mephisto Whatโ€™s next on your list? I think Iโ€™m gonna take a long break from fiction after this and really try to focus on history, Nickโ€™s list and religion.

2018-09-01 01:30:04 UTC

basically an adjusted version of this but ive got a long autistic list.
Right now I've got a bunch I'm halfway into so I don't know where I want to pick up. It ranges from the Iliad, to Nietzsche to Plato to Rene Guenon. I just need to pick one and finish it

Anyone read the sequel to to kill a mockingbird? I remember every reviewer hated it because Atticus is now an old racist and only now I'm realising that probably means it's a good book

2018-09-22 14:16:50 UTC

sounded like the point was Atticus was racist all along or whatever, if you read the original book hes just representing the guy because he gets appointed to do it and wont back down

The second book is probably just as bluepilled / normie tier dont waste your time on it

Paganism is fake and gay. Evola wasnโ€™t pagan but he recognized pagan history and theology. Just because something is fake and gay now doesnโ€™t mean it canโ€™t be learned from
