seems like a good one
I am reading "Spring Snow"
yeah lol
Pewds likes Mishima lol I wonder if heโll follow in his footsteps but succeed where he failed @sbbu
i am gonna read starship troopers afterwards
but that isnt because of pewdiepie
he just happened to make a vid about it recently
Starship troopers is great
Should i get The Bell Curve?
>needing to read an entire book to understand a simple concept
No
Yes, and throw it at people who are too dumb to understand it
@Anon If I shouldn't get it, then where should I go to learn the concept?
@Boffin Frog Why do you say I should get it?
Because it's a scientific analysis of intelligence, and it absolutely destroys the political correct narrative on all fronts. It's pretty normie-friendly, too; much more mainstream than any of the other studies into this stuff.
It's also cheap. Not a big book.
He's right though, you shouldn't need to read it; you probably already know what it says, to be frank
@Boffin FrogI decided not to get it, I just stuck with Nick's 3 recommendations
That's fair.
Just watch a short youtube video on it
@AngloCelticRebel Read Lynn or Jared Taylor
is Evola actually good
i read the first 5 chapters of revolt, all he talks about is indian mystic shit
He's not Catholic
But
I found his analysis of Italian fascism and the 3rd Reich to be compelling
>be italian
>not be a catholic
lmao look at dis nigga
poast mega pdf dumps
/pol/ book recommendations
some good stuff in here, lots of spergy shit as well though (eg gorilla mindset)
thanks
I've heard about siege but idon't know what it is, should iread it?
It seems that owing a physical copy of culture of critique is bad optics.. anyone know a link of it online?
The Jewish Revolutionary Spirit by E. Michael Jones is much better and written from a Christian perspective
Ok i'l look into it
Hey guys, I was wondering if you have a link to Nick's Catholic book list he used for the debate against Styx, or a book that contains a more scientific/historical approach to establishing the existence of Christ and his Resurrection, as well as other things Jesus did in his life on Earth. I am currently a recovering atheist and am looking for a good recommendation regarding that before I delve into Aquinas
I'll probably end up pairing what you guys recommend with Mere Christianity
Not nicks list but here's the christian reading list from /pol/ and /lit/
my books came in today! I got who are we, coming anarchy, reflections on the rev in france, and cuckservative
Cool, so i guess i need to read the bible front to back first, which makes the most logical sense actually, ill google around to see what the most preferred bible translations are for the Catholic Church
@webdevanon everyone has told me to get the douay-rheim bible when i was asking that same question
Awesome man, ill order it tonight, thanks!
no problem, youre welcome
@webdevanon Iโve been reading rsvce because I canโt get through as much of kjv in one sitting, but itโs still good and isnโt missing many messages that Iโve noticed
Just try to read like 10 chapters a day, donโt burn yourself out on it
Any of you lads read the republic?
@Martin_Luther Iโve read some it for school, long book but the ultimate idea of philosopher king shows that monarchy is the most stable form of government
I just finished Cuckservative
A great read
Will look forward to trying to get my boomer dad to read it
@AngloCelticRebel Shit , never thought of Vod day as a good gateway but I think your right
@Metaphysical Monarchist it was thanks to @DeplorablePapa he gave me the idea to use it as its what worked for him
@AngloCelticRebel I always thought you gotta start cucks with Crowder, then Tucker etc but Vox truly is a great starting point for traditionalism/nationalism
>christian reading list doesn't have Nihilism: The Root of the Revolution of the Modern Age
Incomplete
holy shit
why is the bell curve so big
*slaps book* this thing can hold alot of facts
Thank you for the book list
tfw tried reading Evola and its too autistic
boi
Its basically just all occult larping. I didn't try the more political stuff like matr and ride the tiger, but I read all or most of 3 others and his idea of the way the world works is basically just goofy. There are probably fragments of truth here and there in the picture he paints but its really no more than just wacky occult shit once you get past the superficial stuff
@Mephisto Did you read me amongst the ruins?
no but I have it, I decided to take a break and just started on guenon
is Matr better
Havenโt read Matr
Men amongst the ruins is the best imo
About traditionalism
I read the hermetic traditon, like 2/3 or doctrine of awakening and I got half way through Revolt before I decided I was getting much out of it
Connection of people to the land their ancestors settled
Yeah some of his stud is way out there
A bit of Heidegger and Nietzsche is maybe berter
I dunno any Christian philosophers that fit the mood of them Do you?
Men Among the Ruins: Post-War Reflections of a Radical Traditionalist https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/0892819057/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_nmkyBb23F0434
Yeah fundamentally its basically just saying that the perennial truth is that the elite can reach an "unconditioned state" that makes them greater than God and allows them to transcend all abstractions, order/chaos and what not. It also makes you immortal essentially.
Thats his spiritual belief
I've been reading Nietzsche as well, started the Gay Science and I really like it, I've just been reading it slowly.
There's Fr Seraphim Rose who was inspired by Guenon to become Orthodox but I'm pretty sure he wasn't technically in the traditionalist school
and then Coomaraswamy (probably spelling it wrong) was an Indian traditionalist who became Catholic
With Nietzsche
His best are Genolgy of morala
I own a copy of men among the ruins
And Thus spoke Zarathustra
The concept of the last men is literally where we are today
and I listened to some lectures on genealogy of morals, but havent read it, the beginning of the gay science is all I've read.
I want to read his complete works, but I'm learning German so I'm going to wait to read him until I'm proficient enough to read it in the original language
and so much of what he says is where we are today
Heidegger is also German
Also worth reading
Both better than Evola imo
Not quite as anti Christianity imo
He's nowhere near the sort of edgy caricature you get of him from retards, and just from what I've read so far alone its scary how insightful it is. Theres a passage in the gay science where he basically says socialism, revolutionary politics and moralistic christianity are basically what cucks mouth to keep themselves feeling dignified in conditions of servitude. Given I started out as a marxist, then was a pol larper and now I'm more into traditionalist catholicism, its making me question the underlying psychology that's driving me towards these kinds of ideologies and belief systems in the first place
And yeah theres tons of good german authors, Kant, the other idealists, hegel, schopenhauer, stirner and a lot of political writers as well
also german mysticism interests me as well
Neixtche is very good
Itโs not moved me away from Christianity rather towards it in a search for meaning
The main thing its made me think about is basically the way I look at Christianity. Rather than starting from "I feel sick and can't suffer existence any longer " and becoming christian to solve the problem, I think a healthier way of looking at it would be to start from natural health and choose Christianity because you find it to be true/edifying/healthier/etc
thats what I've gotten out of it so far
You live healthy , wholesome and think Christianity would evaluate by being @Mephisto
I think starting from bodily health is just generally a good idea. Thats not say the sort of asceticism and hatred of the flesh practiced for awhile was wrong but I think we're dealing with a new demon of nihilistic doubt nowadays
The Solution might be a faith that is more grounded in a sort of virility (like what evola talks about) which is grounded in a physical health
what im saying is probably borderline heretical but im still working it out
@Mephisto God wants you to take care of your body
which is why I say borderline. Im going to keep trying to figure stuff out though @Metaphysical Monarchist
i read the first couple chapters of revolt against the modern world, he just talks about poo in the loo mysticism endlessly
overrated author
@sbbu Just read men amongst the ruins
is it worth it
@sbbu this was my exact experience, I got to pg 150, not sure if i want to read the rest
Anyone else read Book of the New Sun? Sam Hyde always used to shill for it in Q&As, really enjoying it.
Who's it by
Gene Wolfe
Good Catholic
@zuckernerd can u link where sam talked about it
I'll look for it
I think it was the second or third Hyde wars where he was sitting with Charls in the car
And I think he also talked about it after "how I survived highschool"
If you search "New Sun" in the mde subreddit you can see people talking about it. Pretty sure it was the "car sex" Hyde wars but can't find it now.
anyone read this?
h-has anyone here read The 120 Days of Sodom
the wikipedia page made me crap my pants
@Inquisitor of this Flavortown just read the wiki, very cursed
@Inquisitor of this Flavortown @AngloCelticRebel also make sure to check out Marquis, the puppet porn feature length film based on the author of 120 days of sodom

@Mephisto I havenโt finished one since July and only have read six on the year. Pretty disappointed with that. Iโm almost done with Mishimaโs Temple of the Golden Pavillion though. Really good read so far.
@Polybius I've read a good bit since last summer but the last two months I've just fallen off completely.
I want to read Mishima at some point, based samurai homsexual
@Mephisto Whatโs next on your list? I think Iโm gonna take a long break from fiction after this and really try to focus on history, Nickโs list and religion.
basically an adjusted version of this but ive got a long autistic list.
Right now I've got a bunch I'm halfway into so I don't know where I want to pick up. It ranges from the Iliad, to Nietzsche to Plato to Rene Guenon. I just need to pick one and finish it
>this channel actually gets used

Thinking of tackling Evola, any recommendations for a first read?
dont read revolt against the modern world its bad
I've heard he's not all he's cracked up to be
Especially for Catholics
Was going to start with Fascism viewed from the right
Evola gay
hes esoteric but his points on reactionary behavior still stands
any good books on reactionary-ism that yall recommend
?
Siege
@Inquisitor of this Flavortown the basic into book would be burke's reflections
Nicolas Gomez davila would bigly recommend, his stuff is hard to find tho
ive read refelctions @Callaghan but thx
@NormanLord thx for suggestions
Reading books has made my autism worse
Wish i never learned to read
I forgot๐
Chad
im gonna read the satanic bible just to see what those edgty atheists operate like
Imagine being able to read lmao
What a loser lmao
Anyone read the sequel to to kill a mockingbird? I remember every reviewer hated it because Atticus is now an old racist and only now I'm realising that probably means it's a good book
sounded like the point was Atticus was racist all along or whatever, if you read the original book hes just representing the guy because he gets appointed to do it and wont back down
The second book is probably just as bluepilled / normie tier dont waste your time on it
I haven't lol
I'm reading Jocko Willink atm it's actually not bad
Discipline = Freedom
Reading Evola rn
Evola is gay only pagans like him
Pagans are gay only Evola liked them
Lol literally just rewatched the Nick/Allsup reunion episode and Nick mentions Evola as being very influential in moving him away from libertarianism
What from Evola @Evropa Beagle ?
Reading Revolt^
Really good mysticism and societal foundation
Not a pagan
Paganism is fake and gay. Evola wasnโt pagan but he recognized pagan history and theology. Just because something is fake and gay now doesnโt mean it canโt be learned from
the catholic church called evola devil lmao
he also believed in the hindu renditio of cyclicl history
and caste, and dharma
he wasnt a christian
thats just cope
Meditations by Marcus Aurelius is pretty good
I recommend it throughly
@Evropa Beagle Evola was a pagan lol
@St. Aidan of Lindisfarne I feel like I should re-read it. I donโt think I got much out of it.
Whatโs that โpoetryโ book that girls were instagramming for awhile? I almost had the feeling I was reading the male equivalent of that.
I quite like the way he discusses divinity and moral goodness
He has some very inspiring passages
@sbbu โEvola was a pagan and church says he baaaaaaddddd. I no like dumb fascist Italianโ
You're going to hell pagan
Iโm not a pagan H E A T H E N
I am ORTHODOX, truly the only non cucked portion of Christianity
What happened to Constantinople?
it hasn't been taken back yet
deus vult fren
Evola wasn't a fascist
He was a rich hippy
@ayy lmao orthodoxy doesnโt have mass child molestation or the kikery of prot
It's run by the FSB tho
you make it sound like a bad thing
funny how the christian wignats are always eastern orthodox
Really makes you think
About KGB subversion programmes dating from the cold war
Which involved liberating blacks and pitting racial groups against each other to Balkanise the US
Communism=Racism
commies need brown mystery meat race with no culture or history to enact communism to because normal humans have established healthy hierarchies such as the church which create a class divide
Not true tbh
Commies can have ethnic groups, it's capitalism that pushed race mixing
same in China
if you're different in any way at all from the party ideal you're purged
this soulless brown mystery meat biological grey goo
the plan here is to turn us into Brazil
