Typically from people who didnโt read his novels.
People praise the socratic method as the cornerstone of Democracy, like bruh he was literally executed because he opposed Democracy
Yes, and a democratic method was utilized to determine whether he was to be executed or not, lmao.
He apparently lost by a small margin.
Thatโs mob rule, right there.
The trials were pretty interesting, Gregory B Sadler on YouTube has a great set of videos on Socrates
Yes. I read his speech.
To the crowd.
@everyone Daily Question ๐
**-** What is your view on the rich/elite? Do they have a social responsibility, how much should the top bracket be taxed, are they simply superior and therefore rich?
kill them all
libtarded
@Jimmie Thicc Boi Gustav II Adolf is superior you cunt
Throughout history the higher echelons of society have been less susceptible to the evils of Bolshevism and more inclined to support a fascist movement
Although the corporate oligarchs of today are bad
If you above the median income you should taxed 25%
Below should be taxed 10%
depends on how they got rich
if its by being gay then tacks 100%
if its by being based then like 80-90% tacks
Definitely higher taxes on the 1%
Agreed with what @Honey Beanger states.
Regulate taxation of upper class more, and close the existing corporate tax loopholes.
Oh, I like that point
@DotNerd If theyโre of the highest echelons of society, they need to emulate the traditions, culture, and mannerisms the most efficiently to serve as examples in a hierarchical state.
<:sadpepe:591182526148771871> im sorry
This precludes them from evading taxes and practicing usury.
90% income tax on top bracket
Eat the rich
I'd say 50% might be enough, but 90% sounds good too.
Development of a hierarchy within a state is inevitable, but stratification is avoidable.
Checks and balances rely in authority, so at least Democracy can lend a bit of power, but not really.
Brainwashed folk are common.
Then again, the current choices are an issue too
the rich donate $2 million out of their $30 billion net-worth to their own private charity and be like, "haha yeah I love the poor"
Yeah, tch
State enforced morality
Yes
I would love that
Then no more problems

You guys got terrific ideas, though I disagree with some of your thinkings. Heck, a state imposed morality law would be cool tbh if done right.

someone explain positive Christianity to me please. do they just follow the new testament or what?
its complete heresy @Milk Chugger
why?
Se inscreve
@Milk Chugger ```ย In 1937,ย Hans Kerrl, the Nazi Minister for Church Affairs, explained that "Positive Christianity" was not "dependent upon theย Apostle's Creed", nor was it dependent on "faith inย Christย as theย son of God", upon which Christianity relied, rather, it was represented by theย Nazi Party: "The Fรผhrer is the herald of a new revelation", he said.[3]ย To accord with Naziย antisemitism, positive Christianity advocates also sought toย deny the Semitic origins of Christ and the Bible. Based on such elements, positive Christianity separated itself fromย Nicene Christianityย and as a result, it is consideredย apostateย by all historically Trinitarian Christian churches, regardless of whether they areย Catholic,ย Eastern Orthodox, orย Protestant.```
"The Fรผhrer is the herald of a new revelation"

@everyone QOTD: What are your views on healthcare? Do you believe in a privatized system? Do you prefer medicare for all? If so, do you want a private option?
healthcare is cool
Medicare works wonderfully in Australia. If you proposed privatizing it, you'd get politically crucified.
Medicare for all
you cannot force people to provide healthcare
cause that's called slavery
How
[2]
putting the government in charge of healthcare is wasteful and dangerous
That doesn't explain how it's slavery though.
Even assuming what you said was true.
you cannot make it a law that someone has to provide you health care
Why not?
If slaves could choose to work on plantations and if they did work got 6 figures I would unironically be pro-slavery
No healthcare for minorities
im shocked you quickly become convinced of forced larbor just because "people wont get sick feefees"
I'm shocked you won't provide me a reason as to how it's slavery.
Second time repeating thisโIf slaves could choose to work on plantations and if they did work got 6 figures I would unironically be pro-slavery
one person makes it a law that another person gets free health care because "reasons"...who is to do that labor? and who pays for it?
The healthcare professionals and the government pays for it
at some point you are stealing from peoples pockets to pay for it
with what money?
money they stole from tax payers
Money taken from people
Not really. Render unto Caesar what is Caesar's.
that doesnt justify taxes and slavery
How is it slavery
You haven't established a premise as to how it's slavery.
if you dont understand basic economics im not sure we can have a discussion
Third time repeating thisโIf slaves could choose to work on plantations and if they did work got 6 figures I would unironically be pro-slavery
If you can't understand that what you're describing isn't even slavery, I'm not sure I even want to have a discussion.
My nigga Iโm reading advanced economics
So you're aware, you need to be 13+ to use Discord.
Government is very inefficient with many things. The public and private mix that currently exists in the US is what drives up prices. Subsidized medicine with greedy individuals halts innovation and competition. The government should slowly begin to pull out of the sphere of healthcare and leave it to ambitious people to provide.
@ChillyWilly Or just make the whole thing public
Legalize Slavery
Private healthcare is stupidly worse.
The US has a worse healthcare system than Saudi Arabia.
Well if everyone gets medical care, that'd include you as well. Hypothetically, let's say a rich person suddenly becomes poor. Well tough shit you can't get healthcare and thus die when you get a heart attache and can't afford to pay. As an example.
@Stahlgewittern Thank you for your wonderful contribution to this discussion
On the other hand, there is evidence that without an incentive, laborers work less as they aren't being rewarded for their labor. In terms of a nationalized medical system, one could assume that it'd be of poorer quality.
You arenโt entitled to the product of someone elseโs labor
Who dictates what is theirs?
But in terms of medical aid, what would you gain other than material wealth? You aren't building something that will be used, or for self advancement or enjoyment. You're just caring for another person. Now one could say that their life could impact yours, perhaps they are a firefighter who was injured. By saving their life you might end up being rescued from a fire in your house later on. But what do you directly gain from enacting such care is the question..
Itโs not doctors literally working for free @kwit_dat_Stalin @GreyWolf
Thatโs why it costs a lot of money to implement
You mean taxes
Yes money acquired from taxes
It costs the rich money
Cope
The worship of money is the root of all evil.
Who cares if it means taxes.
Well personally I think everyone deserves a chance for care(except those who commit bodily harm on purpose, or get hurt doing the same thing multiple times, because at that point you really should just stop doing whatever that thing is..). But I also think that every worker deserves fair reward for their labor.
Rewarding the worker for their effort is fine but rampant individualism is what got us into this mess in the first place.
Hmmmm
healthcare is a public service
or should be
I am not even certain how do both private and public healthcare work. Even if we set aside the moral arguments for or against public healthcare, there is also the question of efficiency, innovation, and cost in the long term. @ChillyWilly
there are many effective, and ineffective version of public healthcare
An example in favor of a privatized system is in the sector of laser eye surgery. A few decades ago, it was incredibly expensive. The price for laser eye surgery has decreased by magnitudes. What used to be at least $20k when under the government's thumb has dropped to less than 25% of that after years of innovation and privatization.
just socializing it willy nilly won't make people suddenly healthier
For example, should we sacrifice efficiency for the sake of lowering the cost and increasing access to the public?
it should follow a system that is like on Germany.
^
Germany's socialized healthcare is a good model
its probably the best example
@ChillyWilly An example against private is drugs
I dislike the British NHS but Iike the one used in Germany or Switzerland, minus the mandatory savings account and higher taxes.
