And if thatโs exploring your boyfriendโs denomination, maybe try it out.
Hmm. Iโve been thinking about it. But I do enjoy the community at my current church.
If you love Christ, Christendom and Christianity you'll love Catholicism
not to mention traditionalism
I feel ignorant of Catholicism tho, I was raised baptist and the closest Catholic Church is like 20 mins away
Iโm not Catholic, so I canโt recommend it, but it wouldnโt hurt to see how his congregation is.
Do Baptists honestly think all the other Christains are going to hell
or Prots in general
My church has never preached that
I do know we donโt approve of gays and female preachers.... unlike the Methodists ๐คข
Episcopalians make me sad...
American arm of Anglicanism and it's gone just to complete shit.
Honestly the more I see from prots the more I get angered
*me after I consume degenerate content*
any orthodox bros here
Well folks. Starting today, I'm fasting. Won't be consuming jack shit except water and a few crackers in the evening. Doing this for a month.
That's really intense, are you sure that's healthy?
Fasting for a day or two is one thing
So long as you know what the hell you're doing it's fine. Just make sure to get the proper amount of nutrients and don't do shit which exceeds the caloric intake.
Temptation will be a bitch.
If you can manage a prayer, anyone, I'd appreciate it.
@Thomas I'll pray for you
Much obliged.
I know fasting is tough
But it's really healthy both spiritually and mentally
Still waiting to see where I'm supposed to be going in this wheel well that is my anti-climactic life.
Hopefully refrain from something as basic as food will clear my head.
I'll ask God to give you guidance and discerning
You're a good man @Thomas , you're going to make it
I've been asking that for about two weeks now along with forgiveness.
Seems like it's been falling on deaf ears.
My faith is never weakened
as my logical assumption is that God exists.
It doesn't make sense (the universe, everything) without intelligent design to me.
But it seems like no matter how hard I try, and pray, never really lines up. I know he's there, I damn well do.
He's worked miracles all around me, not necessarily to me,
but everywhere that I can see.
I feel him.
But I hear nothing.
God is good, and God is God. He has his own ways of doing things that we can't comprehend because his ways are not out ways.
I'm well aware. That's partly what worries me somewhat.
In the same way that God destined his own son to die,
I believe that similar misfortunes may befall peoples across the world to benefit man in the longterm.
However he might have his way
*Thy will be done.*
I have no way of knowing what's going on in your life specifically, so I can't give a satisfying response, but I will say this: you're right his will be done, and we don't understand it or know how it'll work out in the end, and it's terrifying sometimes.
The mystery of God and his ways is part of why we should have a healthy fear of God
You never need to give a satisfying response, Simon, I don't mean to frustrate you. You tell me exactly what I need to hear. You're kind and genuine.
The fact that you give response at all says something.
Goodnight.
God love you.
Thanks man, don't worry, you didn't frustrate me. You're a solid guy, and I know God is going to get you through whatever it is you're going through.
Goodnight and God love you too
@Thomas praying for you and the rest of the server as well. <:jesus:417536063540559872>
bps still holds enlightenment bs tho
and another fun finding: black death comes from asia, asians are not blamed for the worst disease in human history (for the right reason), although europeans are widely (wrongly) blamed for spreading disease to conquer native americans
but europeans did not delibrately spread disease to native american
but mongolians literally used disease as a weapon when attacking europe
and another fun finding:
actually medieval is a great time and the end of it welcomes absolute monarchy despotism, however, the end of feudal monarchy are described as a great turning point ending the dark age, even the cause (horrible black death) is praised.
Does that come from enlightenment hatred against medieval feudalism and the religion?
and the anti-white hatred in modern progressive history narratives?
Please pray for all the nickers
I need some myself
If anyone is interested, I am reading aloud the entire bible over a 1 year period on my YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCkV8FGKRJQnw1_50XMxZPIg/featured?view_as=subscriber You can follow along and just listen and in one year you will have read the whole bible!
I've read four days so far.
Pray for me fellas. I need to be responsible and wise
No cultural Christians allowed?
Yup
In excelsis Deo, or maybe Gloria Dei/Deo(?) @(((The George Borjas)))
@(((The George Borjas))) okay, this is epic.
Deus Vult is probably the most common and well-known
Yes but the Islamic equivalent to that would be โinshallahโ.
P R A Y T H E R O S A R Y
fasting
btu its easy because i woke up at 12
Guys convert me to Orthodox Christianity
I want to be able to go to the local Orthodox church and hit on Slav girls
hmm
I mean they pretty based but I believe in purgatory or at least something more than just heaven and hell
just makes sense
why pray for the dead if they have a set fate
Well fellas. I'm still spiritually deaf and blind. Made the decision that fasting wasn't for me. Now I just skip all my meals during the day, and I'm pretty sure that's how I'm going to just live my life. No food during the day, just dinner in the evening.
It gets to a certain point when you scream for God and he doesn't answer that you're more or less just so spiritually and mentally confused that you can't even think straight. I've no righteous clue how to understand.
About ten years of my life, I've asked and pleaded,
through the bible
on my knees,
begging God
to just show me, something,
anything,
to let me know that he was there.
And either I'm blind or he doesn't want me to.
I'm banking on the former, but the latter isn't ruled out of question.
I've recently been asking him what he wants me to do.
I'd do anything
and I mean it
I mean it,
*anything*
to know what he wants me to do.
My mind has become almost numb.
My apathy
is essentially overwhelming me, ironically.
More than anything, I'm just tired.
Mostly tired of the deafening silence that I feel whenever I try to pray.
The complete lack of presence.
I know He's there,
dammit I know.
But I can't hear him,
and I can't see him.
And now I can't even feel him.
I want to make a nation for him, I want to serve him in any way shape or form that he desires me to, I'll go to the ends of the earth, and I will surrender my life *if He'll just. Let. Me. Know.*
But I hear nothing
I see nothing
I feel nothing.
I am, for lack of a better word, dead.
Or at least vegetative.
I'd ask for prayers but I don't know that they'd work anymore.
I think that this is my lot.
That God has made me this way. So that I will do something because of this complete and utter silence.
That's all, fellas.
If christ came and told men they must follow a new way, him, but hating gays is old testament what biblical justification for no homosexuality is in the new testament?
Im against degeneracy but many people use this logic and id like to be able to defend myself in a debate
@Deleted User your interpretation of scripture is terrible
@Deleted User fuc u, idk these things thats why im trying go get information
1) Jesus Christ did not come to abolish any of the Old Testament laws, but to forgive people for not following them.
2) Homosexuality is condemned in the Bible in multiple places.
3) But not if you say nohomo xddddd
<:Thonk:285513255453982720>
@Deleted User give me citations please
John 14:6
Jesus answered, โI am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
James 1:5
But if any of you lack wisdom, you should pray to God, who will give it to you; because God gives generously and graciously to all.
James 1:12
Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has [a]been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.
James 1:21
So put away all moral filth and excess of evil and receive with humility the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.
can someone help me understand the difference between jesuits and papists?
both are actually jews
Catholics
Almost the same thing.
@Thomas God/Jesus/Holy Spirit spoke to me when I prayed for faith (granted) then โacceptedโ the gift of salvation. Notice the action is going from God to us, not the other way around. We donโt have to โdoโ something; he does something for us. Then, as a thank you, we will follow his word, but again, the gift is a gift from him that we did nothing to deserve. Itโs not something that we DO to get his attention. For many years I had this relationship the other way around and kept trying to do stuff and say stuff to get him to let me know he is here. This was the wrong relationship.
Hey fellas I just got Confirmed. HAIL CHRIST BROTHERS โ
@NickTheGreek nice
its good to see people go through with it
PRAY THE ROSARY IT IS POWERFUL
Hail God Hail God's People Hail Victory
Every Friday in Lent you guys better be getting to stations of the cross
Saw this on Facebook earlier
Interesting message. I thought it was nice.
I am religious, but this explains a lot
Jews and their semantics.
Atheists do things for the empty feeling, the look at me's, or I told you people can be moral without God.
Imagine thinking you know there isn't a God in a Universe we can't even fathom. The ego is just amazing.
This morning, I went to a Cathedral near my home.
The first Catholic mass I ever join.
English tho
Congratulations!! What a great start. How did it make you feel? Are you excited to go back?
You should take some time to speak directly to the Father next time and tell him youโre new etc. Heโll give you some tips and guidance.
I used to attend a baptist church.
I have to say the whole process of mass is refreshing.
Has anyone here watched the HBO show the young pope? I'm 3 episodes in and I'm loving it
@here
I haven't, mostly because my family thinks HBO is of the devil, both partially literally and ironically.
I've seen clips on YouTube though.
His speeches...
*wew*
I wish the pope was like that today.
It's a pretty compelling story so far
My favorite part is how they present conservative Catholic beliefs without simply scolding them for being evil. They even make them sound rebellious
๐๐ป
one thing i miss about my old church is the organ, they had a giant classical organ, and wow, electronic ones just dont compare
Jacob Rees-Mogg could be a great PM
the revival of Classical British gentleman
@BottomoftheNinth my dad watches that show. Not too into anything that uses religion for artistic or mass appeal. Even simply recording churches seems off to me so seeing them represent the Pope like that just isnโt very interesting
I'm addicted to tummy fellas can y'all pray to put my lust at ease
Gotta question for the catholics here
I'm not actually catholic but interested in the faith and gave up alcohol for Lent with one of my catholic friends
He's saying because the cardinal here has granted dispensation that means I can drink for St Patty's Day and is encouraging it
But I read the news article about it and it seems to be pretty clear that the dispensation is just for eating meat because St Patty's is on Friday
Thoughts?
Well I think hitting the bar is more likely to lead you to other sins so i can't say its virtuous just pray and you will come up with the answer
That is a consideration I've been weighing, absolutely. Far from guaranteed that I'd be responsible and sensible about it, especially after having not drank for a month.
can you guys send me some prayers feeling pretty sick
Hope you feel better soon king
@Polybius From a purely moral perspective, giving up something for lent is voluntary, as in you do not sin if you break it. The dispensation has nothing to do with what you are abstaining from, it's your choice if you want to break it or not.
how do yall reconcile Evola's teachings with Christianity
since he was anti-Christianity and a perennialist
I went to a mass today and it seems more trad than the Sunday ones
@Nicholas Istvรกn Good to know. I think I'm just going to stick it out though. What's another two weeks?
Just came back from a 5 days retreat in a benedictine monastery. Feeling sanctified and touched by God's grace. I recommend to all young Catholics to do one every time you can. Not only will it help you deal with your problems, the monastic life teaches to detach yourself from all that is superfluous and to focus on what is truly important, praying and working, everyday and with humility.
@francois le francais where can I find a program like that
Mine was in the Abbey of Notre Dame de fontgombault in France. But you should ask your local priest to find one that is not too far from where you live but also one which is the most appropriate for your needs.
Doubt us Americans have such nice things
Here is benedictine one. It was my first retreat so i dont have much experience but for a young guy like me who is unsure about his future it was very fruitful
@francois le francais that sounds incredible
I couldnt recommend it stronger. It really helps you cleanse your mind and soul from all the BS happening ( especially if youre too much invested in politics ) and opens your ears to God's call and the plan that He has prepared specially for you
@sbbu The general rule of thumb for reading someone like Evola is โtake what you like and throw out the restโ
@Polybius Good choice, even if itโs not a moral issue itโs still good for our souls to make sacrifices and stick to them as best we can.
@sbbu I've only read Men Among the Ruins, but he seems supportive of Catholicism, for example:
> Christianity has been largely corrected and mitigated in Catholicism through the aggregation and assimilation of principles from various origins (especially Roman and Classical), as can be seen in the theological domain of Thomism, which would be inconceivable without Aristotelianism.
his criticism of Christianity & Catholicism from that book are more about the modern/liberal/communist influence on the faith, not fundamental problems with Christianity itself
the ideal form of the state he describes is Ghibellinism, the belief that the State has a supernatural origin and function, on par with the Church, with only God above it, e.g. the Holy Roman Empire
he sees Christianity as part of a broader, more universal, more essential tradition, and wants to move in that direction
> something wider, more austere, and more universal than mere Catholicism
> pontifical function preexisted Christianity and were intimately associated with the Roman, pre-Christian idea of sovereignty
> the Knights Templar, [with] their own initiation and esoteric doctrine, reserved to higher degrees, which were not reducible to the mere Christian religiosity
so yeah like @Nicholas Istvรกn said, there's lots of good stuff to take away from Evola, but probably an equal amount of material that is too impractical, too ideologically pure, too extreme to be useful today
I agree with lots of Evola's points about what's good/bad about Christianity and Catholicism, but I don't think we're ever going to get back to his ideal of a pre-Christian monarchical society founded on the imperium and mannerbund of priestly knights and ascetic warriors bla bla.., so I just focus on what's good about traditional Christianity and stay away from the bad modern parts
that's one reason why I'm Catholic and not protestant or pagan, Catholicism is the most viable model we have for right order in the church, state, and home
The very greatest trick the devil ever pulled, was convincing the world he doesn't exist. I see so much of the world ignorant of evil, complacent in malice of the highest extent it can go. I am disheartened beyond my own prior experiences. I know things are getting better, but dammit, why does it have to go so slowly? Every time that I look out to the world I am disappointed by what I see. I know that this is humanity, this is what we are. But how did we let it go so terribly? What became of us in mind and soul that dropped us so far from decency?
I think we lack faith in God. We constantly have to remind ourselves that Man is nothing without God, accept it with humility and seek refuge in God's loving hands. We put our faith in out leaders and in ourselves instead of Vos and that is why we are constantly disapointed by the actual state of Humanity. I think we should be thanking God for the dark times we live in, because it forces us to realise that our only hope is God and having full confidence in God and not in ourselves.
For all my fellow lifters
why
pray for me fellas and I'll pray for you
wanna be a good boy
No orthodox either
Divorces not allowed
Non-denominational Christian uwu
We're all equal in Gods eyes uwu
Are we?
Lets hear it fellas
Yes we are.
Why does God pass judgement on man then?
?
Does he not? @โlatinum
I didn't say he doesn't but I don't see how that's related to seeing and loving everyone equally. @Polybius
Happy St. Paddys Day fellas.
Heres some traditional Irish music to listen to today.
" We are chosen
We are one
We are frightened of no one
And no one will win this war
This is the way
This is the law"
Let's get a F in the chat for these defenders of Christendom, gone before their time. <:jesus:417536063540559872> <:nazbol:403473025342767104>

Had a pain mapping procedure done this morning and it was pretty rough. Asking for prayers that things get better. I need some goodness for my family and hope.
๐
What is pain mapping @Jacsac?
@Mella Forta It is where the doctor puts needles into the nerves coming out of the spine and use injectable meds or electric signals to target specific nerves. In my case they are testing to see if injections will work.
oww!!
Thanks for the prayers everyone. Keep me in yours as much as you can remember. Because of the crackdown on opioids the doctor wants to implant a battery and electrodes in my back. I am hoping for relief before it gets to that. <:jesus:417536063540559872>
@Jacsac ask your Dr. about Kratom. It may be illegal in your state (my state banned it :real fast: ) but it is supposed to be a naturally derived alternative to opioids.
I mean opium is "natural" but we dont want our nickers on it
Kratom isn't nearly as potent as opium but there is serious long term addiction potential
