Well yeah because the Romans acknowledged his existence and attributed it to several first-century movements and revolts.
Advantageous for me, so bias on that front
Lutheranism, the branch of Christianity that traces its interpretation of the Christian religion to the teachings of Martin Luther and the 16th-century movements that issued from his reforms. Along with Anglicanism, the Reformed and Presbyterian (Calvinist) churches, Methodism, and the Baptist churches, Lutheranism is one of the five major branches of Protestantism. Unlike the Roman Catholic Church, however, Lutheranism is not a single entity. It is organized in autonomous regional or national churches, such as the Church of Sweden or the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Mecklenburg, Germany. Globally, there are some 140 such Lutheran church bodies; 138 of these are loosely joined in the Lutheran World Federation, which was established in 1947. At the beginning of the 21st century, there were more than 65 million Lutherans worldwide, making Lutheranism the second largest Protestant denomination, after the Baptist churches
It does not matter. If you rewind back to those times, then people's laws stem from that
"Who are these people chanting to "Chrestus"?
@Lios They are cool with gays in modern society . By the end of the day we are talking about Lutheranism, which is the evolved part of Roman catholism.
Oh my goodness I will be here all day educating people on my theological awakening.
They were second in line, take a number
They are not second in line for the UK they have power in the UK. They have 39 bishops in the house of lords
Which meant that trojan Jihadi schools were closed down eventually
@TEABAG!!! If you think Christians accept gays then you're not just the Christian authoritarian that you consider yourself, but you're also a) a liar, b) completely ignorant of Christian doctrine
They have the power. They do not have power in places like Holland because that is not their fraction.
Also means Christians are ignorant of Christian doctrine. Kind of the major flaw of their text. Very contradictory if they don't cut out the entire Jesus story arc.
Wait... how is the text having standards and the people ignoring it, a flaw in the text?
They should pick from three. Old testament, Jesus was cool, and New testament.
Wait until he says this is the accomplishment of Christians
It's a flaw because we're told it's the undeniable word of god, which then means god is contradicting himself.
sounds like luciferianism
inname
You are unable to understand the religious power of these people. Gay marriage is legal because the Lutheranian Church agreed in its states of DENMARK, AND NORWAY
Lucifer did nothing wrong
@Lios I repeat, how is ignoring the text, the text's fault?
The text ignores the text
You're conflating the legal situation with Christian doctrine
The text is at fault itself
So if something says something false about the text, and the text does not agree with them, how does that make the text false?
Lucifer just wanted us to be happy ;-;
It's one thing to legalize gay marriage, it's another to get all the churches to wed gays
Saying that homosexuality is okay for Christian living is false.
and if being angry, sad, gay and retarded etc, makes you happy
so be it
@ETBrooD you're either incredibly dumb or you do not read . I do not know which one it is
That's not the Bible's fault that's people not wanting to obey it.
The Christians believe in the entirety of the bible to be the word of god, to be followed as dogma. Well, some of them... hell, very few of them. Almost all of them pick and choose. Not very devout if you ask me. If any of them _were_ to use the entirety of the text, then the text itself opposes the text in numerous cases.
Maybe because it's truth rather than dogma. Can you point to me where it contradicts, or can you show me some late-night comedian cherry-picking to avoid the unsavory parts like the death penalty?
```โThe Church of England Bishopsโ position as Lords of Parliament
reflects the British history and culture of seeking to heal religious
conflict and promoting ever greater religious tolerance and
inclusiveness. The way in which the Church of Englandโs
representation in the House of Lords has been manifested over at least
the past 100 years has served to acknowledge the importance of
philosophical, moral and spiritual considerations โ not just religious
ones โ in the conduct of public affairs. And that representation has
been acknowledged by leaders of other Christian denominations and
faith communities as providing a voice in Parliament for religion in
general, not simply for the Church of England.โ4```
The very origins themselves. Appointed to humans, thou shalt not kill. This is the first, and most important of the commandments.
_BUT ITS TOTALLY OKAY IF THEY'RE NOT GOOD ENOUGH, GO AHEAD, KILL THOSE GUYS_
The Bible is a childrens book
People needed this in order to evolve in the last 100 years
_THROW ROCKS AT THEIR HEADS UNTIL THEY STOP MOVING_
@Lios I'm gonna need chapter and verse on that chief.
The bible is meant to be for children.
"The first and greatest commandment" was "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and all your soul and all your mind and all your strength, and you shall have no other gods before me."
"Give me the child for the first seven years and I will give you the man"
@juts kill nme but it is the Lutheran church that has made it okay for Gay marriage
Not Catholcism
sounds creepy
Well, citation 1. The first commandment.
Citation 2: https://bible.knowing-jesus.com/topics/Stoning
Stoning was a death sentence.
Slow and painful.
Catholism has always been about building an empire
Yeah, there were 612 laws in the Old Testament, and some of them carried the penalty of death.
I love how scientific progress caused the internet, which gives us the tools to debunk false religious claims
It gives you only what you put into it, it was made by man.
Have you already read the verses?
Lutheranism works alongside paganism and it is why the doctrine in schools is different and it is about humanity as opposed to flaggeration.
So you deny the entirety of the Old Testament, and claim it to be falsehood, and not province of God?
Why do you think a loving God would not defend his people with deadly force?
It is about the previous times .... the old testament. Read the New testament where it tells you they want mixture of things and no woman to wear a veil, unless they are married to god.
Why do you think a loving God would not explicitly condemn degeneracy?
"Don't kill people, unless I say it's good" is the writings of man from far before Christianity. This is a human law, not a holy one.
According to the Bible God considers all humans equal
Jesus did not come to abolish the Law, but to fulfill it.
I think, Jake has you by the short and curlies with his arguement
So when you say "his people", you're contradicting the teachings of the Bible
God has no people
Humanity is taught through lutheranism
You definitely haven't read the Bible if you don't think there's a certain I-word associated with "his chosen people."
If you do not understand that, it is your own problem .
I have talked to priests about this
They sure know a hell of a lot more than you do
ANyone who's watched Veggietales can tell you that Israel is God's Chosen People. It says that far more often than it refers to stoning.
I have grown up and lived in the bible belt. You speak as someone who doesn't really go to church very often, but likes to say they do.
That's a prerequirement for defending Christian authoritarianism
Seriously dude!
Either you ARE at the top, so you want it. Or you're the one who they want to rule.
YOu can't say that the Bible makes no claim to God having a chosen people when it's run through the entire Old Testament.
God has always favored some people over others for their actions.
There are verses clearly stating that God sees all people as equal
Either way, God's a dick, but so are other gods. He's just more deceptive. Odin is at least honest about his dickery, so I'm sticking with him.
No, there is one verse where Paul says that race and gender don't matter in the church. One.
Compared to the whole Old Testament where Israel is the chosen nation.
And also most of the New Testament.
They need to release the Old Old Testament
That would be the necronomicon, and has since been lost to time.
We must not know of the old gods.
Time waits for no one
The Jews' claim to supremacy is the entire point of Paul's teachings on race and ethnicity.
He had to teach the church that Jews were not inherently better people.
It's almost funny how easy it is to debunk false religious claims using this awesome thing called internet
I used to have to open up a Bible
Living right now is like playing a mmorpg that has outgrown itself and never got past the tutorial level, or been allowed to
Here I come with the Bible.. and I am talking New Testament where it states how stuff is going to go down;
``1 Corinthians chapter 3.
**The Church and Its Leaders**
1 Brothers and sisters, I could not address you as people who live by the Spirit but as people who are still worldlyโmere infants in Christ. 2 I gave you milk, not solid food, for you were not yet ready for it. Indeed, you are still not ready. 3 You are still worldly. For since there is jealousy and quarreling among you, are you not worldly? Are you not acting like mere humans? 4 For when one says, โI follow Paul,โ and another, โI follow Apollos,โ are you not mere human beings? ``
