lets say you dont believe blasey ford
he commited perjury
Did he though?
'thats just a fact
Where’s the proof
you sound like a libtard
lets not do namecalling here tho
ok nvm I thought you were a NeverTrumper
sorry I get triggered by NeverTrumpers
im just trying to talk and chill
(shapiro is cool though)
I mean you’re the one who called him an attempted rapist
Name calling point is kind of hypocritical
yeah also I say libtard in jest
You can’t just go to name calling
And then when it suits you
Go against it
Like in an instant
is something i believe
He’s not an attempted rapist
is true about him
There’s no proof
its a he said she said
no proof on his side
that's why calling him an attempted rapist is really shitty thing to do
And none on hers
we don't have fucking videotape
innocent until proven guilty
isn't just for trials lmao
it's an important principle
called benefit of the doubt
this isnt a case of that
this is a job interview
not a criminal case
well he is clearly qualified
also let's be real
it's highly political
we get the spoils
i.e. the Supreme Court seats
Dems are just doing this to delay
until after the election
this is inherently a partisan fight
we get to ram him throuhg
regardless of whether you believe blasey ford
at least i think her believing it was him was sincere
and she didnt wanna come out
If you were accused of something
You didn’t do
And it came up in a job interview
How would you feel if your potential employer only believed your accuser
id defend myself
but it isnt a case
lmao it'd just be he-said-she-said
and it is ultimately their choice
so give the guy the benefit of the doubt
Anyways look bottom line
Kav will be tremendous
for a supreme court seat
just choose hardeman instead
Hardimann is too liberal
he keeps everyone happy
Kav is the most conservative
I thought Barrett was the radical option
barrett was the most conservative
only on social issues
on economic/executive power stuff
Kav is far better
of sc nominees
Roe V Wade happened
Which made the court a partisan institution
ginsburg was confirmed 96-3
kennedy some other crazy margin
But Bork was rejected
And Thomas barely got in
he was bork
and THAT was the start of SC partisanship
But the reason
Why they started that with Bork
Was due to fears he'll overturn roe
And even civil rights legislation too
roe was even
and he easily could have won
with a coalition of western rs+southern dems
Well Southern Dems were the ones most strongly opposed to Thomas
This is weird
yahe pmed me dude
just let him vote for weatheboy
That’s a big one for me
if hes annoying you
just ignore him
Well he’s nearly banned from the main cord
On his last strike
but just let it go
When do we vote for president
So March is when I cast my vote?
That’s when I think
@everyone quick poll, 👍 for pro choice 👎 for pro life
It's not as simple as that
I mean I get it
But in general I’d like to gauge peeps on it
Nothing wrong with being pro life lol
pro life with the exception of rape or the mother's life is in danger
Speaking of Gauge, should I gauge my ears?
I already have them pierced
In my opinion gauges are really ugly
The almighty Arnold demands it
my ears are stretched lol
mostly pro-life with the exception of a mother's life. i'm open to a hard cutoff for everyone else though (before the earliest point at which a fetus is viable or can feel pain)
I'm pro-choice until the point of viability
but it's not a hardline issue for me so I'm not bothered by things like 20 weeks bans, etc.
Hey, we should think of ways to get more people in our party. Should we try moving more towards the center?
Well, we are pretty close to the center
We need to bring more people in
Take a more... moderate stance on guns?
i think the move on trade from a hardcore free market position to more of a realist/fair trade position helped a lot
Well, the Feds are pretty neutral as a whole
oh i thought you meant the GOP irl
ignore that lol
I don’t think we are going to win over people like Lumine
Lumine hates the party for personal reasons
Sure I'll find it
Why does lumine hate us?
Well mainly cuz there's too many doves in the party for his taste and he doesnt like how the party has held the white house for about the past 2 years
@Deleted User have there been any censuses/polls of the atlasia voter base to see which are most important to moderates/independents/potential swing voters?
Well, i know Yankee did a survey back in april
Of the Fed members
i'm new to this, but in terms of coalition building i think generally you want to do the following right
(1) maximize base turnout
(2) solidify squishy votes
(3) see how you can expand to lower propensity independent voters without sacrificing (1) or (2)
And our party has been pretty good at that imo
if there aren't many lapsed voters or squishy types, then i guess you want to see what you can expand while minimizing losses from the base
Also crossover appeal by presidential candidates is key
Since there are always friendship votes
As atlasia is much less polarized than RL
Why does TG vote for feds in presidential elections?
Cuz she likes right wingers on atlas
healthcare seems like an opportunity to gain more moderates, but then you sacrifice fiscal conservatism
i think balancing the budget is pretty important for most right wing parties (even if in practice it's hard)
Well healthcare was a big issue that allowed Feds to win a lot of centrist and center left people in 2017
When they passed atlascare
you know, something i've noticed, there isn't much about regulations and such. which gives the feds an opening
maybe you could embrace green conservatism?
are there any environmentalist moderates? or are most of them far left?
Well fhtagn is pretty environmentalist
Also here is what atlascare is
does atlasia have social security?
It inherited all RL US laws when the game was reset in June 2016
Meaning that the trump tax cuts never happened for example
which of the two non-south regions is more viable for feds?
But Obamacare was the law before atlascare passed
I would say that both Lincoln and Fremont are hard
And have their advantages and disadvantages
Due to the current +40 lefty registration majority
As a country
Here's the current census https://uselectionatlas.org/FORUM/index.php?topic=240848.msg6451331#msg6451331
is the left generally unified? or are there faults where they could splinter?
Well the left has been in serious turmoil
For a long time
The left is splintered between three parties
It's definitely not unified
Yeah Labor, PUP, and Peace
is one of them more moderate?
They all seem like generic center left to left parties
the moderates are either Feds, indies, or whats left of alliance
well i don't really have a voter record since i just signed up (i think registered for FL), but if there are any vacant positions that need to be filled i could help out
Well i think there are Chamber of Delegates elections in the south in october
ok, i'll look into that, thx
also how do the conventions work?
i would like to help out with the platform if that's needed
you're looking at Atlasia's resident green libertarian-ish person!
@Deleted User what kind of platform changes would you suggest to make the feds more of a green-conservative party?
Am I Atlasia's resident middle ground could kind of fit anywhere person?
used to be LT until he became alt-right :P
so I guess it's you now!
@Deleted User one if the ways we had been tackling it was working towards repealing bad regulations while also pushing for environmentally friendly policies (ex. eco-tariffs)
I don't really think the Feds would be a green conservative party and really it's mostly a center-center right party. We aren't extreme conservative and already pretty green I think.
how would carbon taxes and subsidies/tax breaks for green infrastructure investment play with the fed base?
