Not what I'm getting at
when NM gets a Republican Senator, then we'll see where this is going
NM will stay blue, definitely.
@Den had a theory that the rural hispanics voted R, wasn't sure of that
New pic
Might go a little too far
Works well
Well, is it accurate?
Anyways, this little town in NM is a microcosm of that theory. An example. Maybe there's a better chance of turning the tides over there than we think.
you know why Lamb is trending?
Simple
it's an old Democrat trick
"Republicans will cut your social security"
oldest trick in the book
^
works like magic
and because it's true
Republicans keep using the same old talking points
"STRONG MILITARY"
"LOWER TAXES"
"FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY"
It's seriously bent against him obviously; he opposes funding for cracking down on illegals but isn't against it per se; he supports a $1.1 trillion infra program funded by tax hikes; he claims that Republicans will cut SS/Medicare/Medicaid; he wants a student loan debt amnesty and he wants to implement a graduate tax to pay for free college for all; he wants mandatory union membership to be implemented; he wants to tax coal businesses to extinction and jack up petrol and NG taxes.
You're right, they've got to appeal to the constituency more
How to win Republican votes as a Republican:
The dems know demographic manipulation.
He opposes the Hyde Amendment which I estimate which more than double federal abortion funding from its current lows to over a billion dollars, and he hasn't endorsed Trump's plan to treat vets with PTSD for free.
"BUILD THE WALL"
"DEPORT ILLEGALS"
"END NAFTA"
And he supports mandatory contraceptive coverage, but only federal subsidies for abortion-covering insurance (openly)
But Republicans won't say these things, because, well, their Business Conservative base wouldn't like that
It's kinda obvious he'd vote for expanding it to abortion though.
If Trump wants this seat, hopefully he'll focus very hard on the economic nationalism and immigration hardlining.
Can we all agree on something
Be sure to make sure my pics get around btw
What is it?
if Republicans lose this seat,
their fault
100% of them
Yeah
yes, I'll agree to that
It was their fault in 'bama too
no voter fraud,
no illegal votes,
Maybe in VA also
100% Republican complicity
Take all the screenshots you want. If Saccone loses, it's on him and it's on the GOP.
If Saccone wins,
it'd be because Trump saved him in the last minute
with tariffs
That's definitely possible, depends on margins
One thing I hope is Trump better deliver some inspirational shit on saturday.
Hopefully he hasn't gotten rusty on us
Fucking Gary Cohn
well,
Fucking RNC, Fox
Pittsburgh is adding 500 new steel jobs
that's a strong talking point
Yep, definitely should keep it within state interest
that's like 500 votes,
plus their family members
If Trump sees a win and compares this to 'bama and VA, he'll know full well that Twitter is not what cuts it, but LIVE APPEARANCES
Aren't those jobs in Ohio, even though the company is based in Pittsburgh?
@๐Boo-ton๐ not only that, it's more potential voters who actually see jobs being brought back to their area
VA-10 is one of the more likely to flip, we'll need to work hard for this one
There is a massive amount of jobs in coal and natural gas. Even though a ton of people aren't employed directly in these industries the amount of people who work in supporting companies is unreal.
In Pa district 18
!!!!!!!
**5** Senate Democrats would lose election if held today (!!!)
lmao
Trump approval doesn't mean much though
come the fuck on
I welcome favorable news but I don't really consider that to be the case
again, numbers aren't everything
someone could approve of Trump but vote for a Democrat
someone could disapprove of Trump but vote for a Republican
hell...someone could disapprove of Trump but still vote for him
he's going to lose
Oof
@๐Boo-ton๐ lol, you don't know that. Maybe he's gonna win
stop loling
this isn't fun and games
you think just because Trump won the election by pulling a rabbit out of the hat,
that Republicans can do the same?
@Deleted User was this your attitude on November 7th?
@๐Boo-ton๐ I was pretty sure Trump would win lmao
"you think just because Trump won the election by pulling a rabbit out of the hat,"
that didn't happen lol
he won through hard work and unprecedented cunning
Indeed. Hillary didn't stand a chance and Trump effectively reached a 100% possibility of victory by March--though, of course, if he let that get to him he'd have lost.
@Nuke Sarcasm? Hillary did stand a chance. Things were rigged in her favor. Her campaign strategy just sucked dick.
No, she didn't. Even though the election was rigged with fake votes and shit, she didn't stand a chance against Trump's overwhelming popularity.
*Trump's regional overwhelming popularity
>implying he also isn't popular in states like California in New York but drowned out by voter fraud
If Trump is popular in NY, wear a MAGA hat on the subway
@๐Boo-ton๐ I did, nothing happens lmao
You get some high fives from fellow Drumpf fans though
@๐Boo-ton๐ there is no way Brown is that popular
Itโs fake
@Rhodesiaboo yeah, that poll is BS
and even if it isn't, approval ratings don't tell you everything
again, numbers aren't that important
"numbers aren't important" wtf
How are we supposed to measure our support without numbers?
politics is more qualitative than quantitative. Rather then sampling 500 people in a screwy manner, it's best to actually familarize yourself with all the different opinions and why people have those opinions
yeah
for instance, let's say you have a poll where Trump's approval is at 40%
democracy isn't about appealing to the majority, it's about getting convincing the majority why you're right
that doesn't mean he's only going to get 40% of the vote
numbers don't tell you the whole story
there could be people who approve of Trump but decide to vote 3rd party
there could be people who disapprove of Trump but vote for him because they prefer him to the Democrat
But the problem with that is you can't prove that
That's speculation
It requires you to convince yourself things are fine,
even when there is a greater chance that it is not
YES
We have Musky on our side
Where is that 2018 senate race graphic from @๐Boo-ton๐
Axios
damn, I wish it would list all the seats that are up
to get a fuller picture
>Not taking Ohio
What the fuck is going on
I'm more hopeful for that PA-18 race also.
enlighten me, fellow Californian
Trump's going there on Saturday, and the tariffs are just what they need.
that is true
Rust belt blue collar workers
i just hope it will be enough
Care less about issues like abortion and shit
Yeah
I hope so too, Trump going to have to drag another Republican across the finish line like he did in Georgia
I don't understand why the RNC recruited Saccone
I don't understand the RNC sometimes period.
they could've got a guy with a MAGA hat from down the street to campaign better than this deadbeat
xD
Lol seriously...
I think there's a huge disconnect between political Republicans, and like actual everyday republicans.
I find that they're trying to play the left's game, with appealing to emotions and stuff, but with right wing values.
And it doesn't work
Center and Center right people care much less about issues like abortion, or sacred marriage, than they do about the economy, crime, and immigration.
It seems to me when Republican candidates stick to those categories more, and compromise a bit on the formers, they do better.
Would be my idea.
Immigration is _the_ single issue that won Trump the nomination
Yeah, I could understand that
If Republican candidates campaigned on Trump's immigration restriction platform,
the GOP could actually win elections
I honestly think you're right, but I think Republicans are just too scared
but instead they run on tax cuts and military spending
Republicans are too milquetoast
Trump needs to teach Republicans to fight back against the media
See that's the thing I've noticed too!
the sole reason the GOP and the right lose the culture war is because they don't fight back
I truly feelt he age of gentlemen poltics is over/
But the GOP continues to act like it is.
The Democrats do anything to get elected, they'll lie, smear, and cheat.
You know it here in CA
They did that gas tax hike
And then wrote a law that you couldn't recall Senators
And used their supermajority to pass it
Republicans just get kicked around, it's so irritating to me.
Republicans let themselves get pushed around because,
'muh principles'
'muh values'
Exactly
this man speaks my language lol
'we're better than them'
give me a break
LOL
SO TRUE
Like McConnell with not using the nuclear option
You and both know
The day Democrats regain control of the Senate that's going to be the first thing to go.
"lower the filibuster to simple majority"
Oh, Zakatack, I've looked into Ohio.
yeah?
Sherrod Brown basically made me realize why my mom uses words like "crazy" and "extreme" to describe some Democrats as if they aren't redundant.
He's too generic and unexceptional, to such an extent everything bad about him is easily excused as "eh, he's a Democrat"
Fuck!
That would've been such an easy seat...
Except we run look warm spineless candidates
But if he's so bad Nuke
Why is he ahead
in the polls?
I just described why he's able to win.
Cause he's generic?
He voted against their Tax Cuts like wtf.
Yeah he votes party line; he voted for Obamacare and shit, too, but once it reaches that point, it's like "sooo he's a Democrat?"
No way to attack him personally but there's plenty of ways to persuade someone against voting for a Democrat, of course.
ugghh
I feel like these midterms are going to either go really well, or be a complete disaster.
He also periodically seems to propose lukewarm conservative bills, knowing that they'll fail.
Like for instance, bills that the House of Reps doesn't recognize can be proposed by a Senator, which cannot pass without House approval.
We can hit him on stuff we can hit any (D) on
but we can't hit him very well on anything retarded, like wanting to defund the war against ISIS and increasing funding abortion to $1B+, as Lamb and Baldwin have done.
Ultimately, we've just gotta mash the immigration button, as Button Mash would propose.
Our biggest areas we win on are immigration, economy, and crime,
So yeah you're right.
I could care less about abortion anymore
What sets Brown apart is that he's pro-tariffs, which doesn't work in our favor either.
Let them have on demand abortions, and let them have gay marriage lol
Wait really>?
Democrat
Pro tariffs
He's lying lol
Yep, also even though he opposed the Iraq War, he also voted for anti-Iran stuff.
Which means neocon boomer shit isn't in our favor either
And yeah don't think I trust a Democrat for a second
You can try to convince people that he's lying though.
I just would go by his voting record
Manchin is getting screwed now because he promised to vote to get rid of Obamacare, and then adopted a Lamb-esque "I'll fix Obamacare."
Manchin was screwed the first time he voted against Trump IMO
His entire state
Not a single county went blue
Not one county
Even the urban centers went for Trump
And then when he went against the Tax Cuts
Pretty much done
I'm liking those Michigan numbers though man
Not even a named candidate
And already pretty high for such a blue state
This is what I'm talking about is just going back to straight free markets and some protectionist policies
I would like to see PA get flipped too... that Senator is a total cunt.
Watch him on the floor and I wanted to hurl lol
Manchin basically should've become a moderate Republican to win reelection, especially after the last WV Governor thought the state's conservatives would be OK with him vetoing a partial ban on abortion (maximum allowed ban SCOTUS has approved) due to "unconstitutionality" as long as he supported coal interests.
West Virginia now has a Republican Governor.
LOL
man I havnen't even been looking at the governor races either.
Ugh
I don't need more worry lol...
He literally just endorsed Gorsuch and thought his voters would be happy lol
xD
That is one thing about the majority republicans
They're pretty quiet, they don't protest or make noise.
But they will show up at the polls when they're unhappy.
t. Obama 2010
HAH
67 seats swing
Wasn't that like the 2nd biggest in history or something?
But the Tea Party protests were still happening back then
That is true.
And something like that, biggest swing since WWII or similar
Yeah
Biggest swing since (((FDR)))
