whites werent slaves in the US, there were indentured servants, which are differnt

2018-09-12 07:25:46 UTC

and they tried using natives but that didnt work either

2018-09-12 07:25:58 UTC

If you are talking about Irish "slaves" in America. They were under legal contact had basic human rights and could leave at the end of their contract and be given land. Whereas black slaves had no way of escape, their kids were also slaves and had no human rights

2018-09-12 07:26:10 UTC

its called indentured servants

2018-09-12 07:26:34 UTC

they work for a set time, usually around 7 years, then after that period they are garenteed some land and supplies

2018-09-12 07:26:40 UTC

do you think im too silly to understand things?

2018-09-12 07:26:48 UTC

i apperciate you trying to help\

2018-09-12 07:26:54 UTC

[Leviticus 25:44]

2018-09-12 07:26:55 UTC

2018-09-12 07:26:59 UTC

Oops

2018-09-12 07:27:17 UTC

We are cleaning up a common misconception, I hope you don't find this patronising

2018-09-12 07:27:36 UTC

White people

2018-09-12 07:27:45 UTC

no, i think its nice to talk to some caring people

2018-09-12 07:28:05 UTC

so yeah, no white slaves in the US

2018-09-12 07:28:11 UTC

None what so ever

2018-09-12 07:29:00 UTC

If i remember right the hebrews started as indentured servants that became dependant on the egyptians

2018-09-12 07:29:00 UTC

The Irish slaves thing is a common misconception often used to downplay the struggle of black people who were actually slaves

2018-09-12 07:29:19 UTC

Egypt didnt have slave labor

2018-09-12 07:29:29 UTC

And not white people

2018-09-12 07:29:37 UTC

and the Hebrews were never in egypt

2018-09-12 07:29:38 UTC

Try again

2018-09-12 07:30:00 UTC

there were black slave owners

2018-09-12 07:30:11 UTC

So what

2018-09-12 07:30:21 UTC

just pointing that out

2018-09-12 07:30:26 UTC

all we were talking about is slavery in general

2018-09-12 07:30:31 UTC

Is this even about religion anymore

2018-09-12 07:30:38 UTC

o i thouight this was a race thing

2018-09-12 07:30:38 UTC

If Egyptians weren't white explain this

https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/484515915069784085/489337026982707211/images_4.jpeg

2018-09-12 07:30:49 UTC

well clearly in the US it is a race thing

2018-09-12 07:30:49 UTC

<:ohheck:485078351162376202>

2018-09-12 07:30:52 UTC

You got me

2018-09-12 07:31:14 UTC

because the slave owners were southern white men

2018-09-12 07:31:25 UTC

*rich deep south white men

2018-09-12 07:32:08 UTC

Deep men

2018-09-12 07:32:08 UTC

where is your next piece moving to?

2018-09-12 07:32:14 UTC

linguistic chess =]

2018-09-12 07:32:30 UTC

i was being specific

2018-09-12 07:32:42 UTC

My piece moves to Bible can be used to condone slavery and hence can very easily be corrupted

2018-09-12 07:32:46 UTC

Richest deepest most southern whitest men

2018-09-12 07:32:52 UTC

rich white men in the deep south had the majority of slaves

2018-09-12 07:32:58 UTC

Southernest* @I-VaPE-ChEMtrAiLS

2018-09-12 07:33:19 UTC

Piss

2018-09-12 07:33:26 UTC

:P

2018-09-12 07:33:28 UTC

if you only use eisogesis, its possible to get a false understanding of scripture

2018-09-12 07:33:41 UTC

that it supported slavery?

2018-09-12 07:33:48 UTC

yeah how dare i think that is wrong

2018-09-12 07:33:58 UTC

lol

2018-09-12 07:34:06 UTC

I mean when Bible tells us to "you may purchase slaves" I can really get to any other meaning

2018-09-12 07:34:07 UTC

eisogesis is like taking youre ideas and bouncing them off of scriptures

2018-09-12 07:34:22 UTC

You can also use the Bible to say the earth is 6000 years old and is flat

2018-09-12 07:34:24 UTC

so, we should have slaves is what you are saying

2018-09-12 07:34:33 UTC

You impose your own morals on scripture

2018-09-12 07:34:51 UTC

eisogesis should line up with exegesis

2018-09-12 07:35:02 UTC

Death of the author but the author is God

2018-09-12 07:35:17 UTC

also, sorry a 2000 year old book cant keep up with how society changes

2018-09-12 07:35:39 UTC

Eh the holy spirit can just rewrite it

2018-09-12 07:35:45 UTC

Im up for white slaves

2018-09-12 07:35:51 UTC

No

2018-09-12 07:35:52 UTC

cause 2000 years ago, no one saw a problem with owning slaves. Guess what times change

2018-09-12 07:35:58 UTC

now we do

2018-09-12 07:36:09 UTC

slavery is not okay

2018-09-12 07:36:09 UTC

Do we? :3

2018-09-12 07:36:16 UTC

Aw

2018-09-12 07:36:24 UTC

yes, and the bible puts a system in place to support slavery

2018-09-12 07:36:37 UTC

support slavery with the bible for me

2018-09-12 07:36:40 UTC

id like to see

2018-09-12 07:36:42 UTC

if it was against slavery, it would say dont own slaves. Not regulate slavery

2018-09-12 07:37:14 UTC

@Derek Nelson your fellow Christian might disagree with you on that, he has expressed biblical slavery is fine in his opinions

2018-09-12 07:37:28 UTC

Seriously?

[Exodus 21]

2018-09-12 07:37:51 UTC

He is not racist

2018-09-12 07:37:55 UTC

2018-09-12 07:38:04 UTC

Cant trust no christians damn

2018-09-12 07:38:10 UTC

But he doesn't necessarily have a problem with *biblical slavery*

2018-09-12 07:38:14 UTC

And if a man sells his daughter to be a female slave, she shall not go out as the male slaves do. If she does not please her master, who has betrothed her to himself, then he shall let her be redeemed. He shall have no right to sell her to a foreign people, since he has dealt deceitfully with her. And if he has betrothed her to his son, he shall deal with her according to the custom of daughters. If he takes another wife, he shall not diminish her food, her clothing, and her marriage rights. And if he does not do these three for her, then she shall go out free, without paying money.

also to consider is the old testament is a record of covenants with his people

2018-09-12 07:43:17 UTC

I havent looked into the bible this much

2018-09-12 07:43:20 UTC

Oh gee why not tell people to you know "maybe don't own each other"

2018-09-12 07:44:12 UTC

By setting up regulations for slavery it is supporting slavery by providing a frame work for it to exisit

2018-09-12 07:44:36 UTC

its not supporting slavery

2018-09-12 07:44:46 UTC

2018-09-12 07:49:43 UTC

thats not a true statement

2018-09-12 07:49:51 UTC

You are saying it doesn't condone slavery while it literally tells people to buy slaves

2018-09-12 07:49:56 UTC

You know what

2018-09-12 07:49:59 UTC

I cant do this

2018-09-12 07:50:04 UTC

Lol

2018-09-12 07:50:09 UTC

i love you

2018-09-12 07:50:09 UTC

Have fun arguing with the brainless christian

2018-09-12 07:50:13 UTC

try to be happy

2018-09-12 07:50:26 UTC

This is getting too cliche

2018-09-12 07:50:49 UTC

ok, here is how i would argue slavery with the bible Day, since the Bible sets up a frame for for slavery AND that there are multiple passages talking about how slaves should ibey their masters. It makes a logic concention at the very least the bible doesnt go against slavery, and also could even push that it supports it

2018-09-12 07:50:53 UTC

Christians telling people they love them while following a book that condones slavery

2018-09-12 07:51:25 UTC

you keep saying that

2018-09-12 07:51:44 UTC

ok, it does give a frame work for slavery

2018-09-12 07:52:06 UTC

and i just posted a whole quote that says you should obey your master

2018-09-12 07:52:14 UTC

Okay giving a frame work for slavery and telling people they can buy slaves from other nations is not condoning slavery?

2018-09-12 07:52:49 UTC

yes satan, you too :3

2018-09-12 07:53:07 UTC

😏

2018-09-12 07:53:18 UTC

you guys really should read the bible more to pose better arguements atleast

2018-09-12 07:53:27 UTC

[Romans 6:16]

2018-09-12 07:53:27 UTC

2018-09-12 07:53:57 UTC

??

2018-09-12 07:54:05 UTC

So we should obey?

2018-09-12 07:54:11 UTC

That isn't helping

2018-09-12 07:54:37 UTC

it doesnt help my arguement, seemingly to you, i provided ammunition for you

2018-09-12 07:55:24 UTC

Day my orginal point was that you can and people did, that is the more important part i feel like, use the bible to argue both for and against slavery

2018-09-12 07:56:03 UTC

the bible is full of contention, you need the Holy Spirit to discern for you

2018-09-12 07:56:20 UTC

but you cant have people argueing both sides

2018-09-12 07:56:42 UTC

that clearly means one side is wrong and one side is right

2018-09-12 07:57:01 UTC

[Matthew 13:13]

2018-09-12 07:57:02 UTC

2018-09-12 07:57:37 UTC

You trolly christian you are

2018-09-12 07:57:45 UTC

Can't help much if the Christian continues to act blind

2018-09-12 07:58:19 UTC

are you projecting?

2018-09-12 07:58:31 UTC

so the bible can be interpeded wrong?

2018-09-12 07:59:05 UTC

sure, ppl can understand just about anything wrongly

2018-09-12 07:59:20 UTC

then the bible can be corupted

2018-09-12 07:59:33 UTC

no, people can be corrupted

2018-09-12 07:59:52 UTC

and then they twist the bible to support themselves

2018-09-12 08:00:08 UTC

do you accuse me of twisting?

2018-09-12 08:00:14 UTC

:^) almost like the bible was written in the first place

2018-09-12 08:00:17 UTC

no

2018-09-12 08:01:13 UTC

people know the bible is looked at by many as the highest form of truth, so some will kinda try to tailor specific verses to agree with them so they can seem more right

2018-09-12 08:01:35 UTC

How did you get your interpretation of the Bible @Christmas EveryDay many people on this server use biblical literalism as their agruments (mainly the flat earthers) however I know this way of looking at the text is only a recent development

2018-09-12 08:01:44 UTC

that is corupting the bible away from its true meaning to fit a differnt meaning

2018-09-12 08:01:50 UTC

[1 John 2:27]

2018-09-12 08:01:51 UTC

2018-09-12 08:02:13 UTC

Which is why Fluff Pepper and I tend to also use literalism in debate

2018-09-12 08:02:21 UTC

i didnt say people were right for trying to make the bible fit their narrative

2018-09-12 08:02:32 UTC

i am not saying they are wrong

2018-09-12 08:02:37 UTC

i am just saying they do it

2018-09-12 08:02:43 UTC

indeed

2018-09-12 08:03:11 UTC

and if they twist it away from the true meaning to support their own view, that is a corruption of the meaning of the bible. it is being used in the wrong way

2018-09-12 08:03:36 UTC

the word of God is alive though

2018-09-12 08:03:48 UTC

saying it only means 1 thing seems kinda limiting

2018-09-12 08:04:07 UTC

so then there is no true meaning

2018-09-12 08:04:19 UTC

I was about to say that

2018-09-12 08:04:27 UTC

every1 has a very personal walk with Jesus

2018-09-12 08:04:43 UTC

:GWchadThink:

2018-09-12 08:04:48 UTC

nah

2018-09-12 08:04:57 UTC

😑

2018-09-12 08:05:04 UTC

if i get a differnt meaning from the bible then you do. that means there isnt 1 true absolute meaning

2018-09-12 08:05:08 UTC

[1 John 2:27]

2018-09-12 08:05:09 UTC

2018-09-12 08:06:06 UTC

it has a straight verse telling people to buy slaves (just an example) that cant really be interpreted any differently

2018-09-12 08:07:15 UTC

what bothers you about buying slaves?

2018-09-12 08:07:43 UTC

because you shouldnt be able to own people and force them to do what ever you want

2018-09-12 08:08:11 UTC

*forceably own them

2018-09-12 08:08:16 UTC

what if you wanted to marry my daughter and agreed to work for me until i said it was ok

2018-09-12 08:08:29 UTC

a) i am gay
