I say not

2019-12-02 00:52:18 UTC
2019-12-02 00:54:52 UTC

@Sassy Undeniably here's the globe theory explanation: "We donโ€™t see the far side because โ€œthe moon is tidally locked to the Earth,โ€ said John Keller, deputy project scientist for NASAโ€™s Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter project. โ€œThe moon does rotate, but it rotates at the same speed that it rotates around the Earth.โ€ The moon completes one full rotation on its axis in the time it takes to orbit the Earth. That means the same side is always turned toward us."

2019-12-02 00:56:30 UTC

The Moon is rotating on its own axis at approximately the same speed as it orbits the Earth. Thatโ€™s why only one side is visible

2019-12-02 00:56:39 UTC

Btw this is called synchronous rotation

2019-12-02 00:57:53 UTC

@Logrian yep, i was definitely wrong about being able to see the far side. however, i still have a problem with how the images u post seem to conflict with each other. why would you post a gif of two spheres rotating above a disc earth then post an image that calls into question if the moon is even a sphere? its conflicting information

2019-12-02 00:59:26 UTC

the omages are to get you to think, not saying theyre accurate or exact ๐Ÿ™‚

2019-12-02 01:02:42 UTC

what?? why would you post things if you dont think theyre accurate or exact? are you trying to create confusion?

2019-12-02 01:03:05 UTC

because we dont have 78 million a day

2019-12-02 01:03:10 UTC

so we do the best we can

2019-12-02 01:03:46 UTC

so the "best you can" is to post conflicting info and make things more confusing?

2019-12-02 01:03:54 UTC

we know NASA always lies, an at the top theyre freemasons, so we can discount any nonsense they push as its for their benefit an agenda an not ours

2019-12-02 01:05:03 UTC

im not talking about what NASA says. this doesnt concern them at all. my issue is that the info posted by flat earthers often conflicting and confusing

2019-12-02 01:05:24 UTC

Your ignorance is going to have you with cogdiss in a second. lol did you look at what you posted or are you going to regurgitate the same thing we all learned. In order to wake up and understand why we have and issue with what they have said you have to first start with a blank slate and stop believing blindly what you were told. Let me rip apart what that said and what it really means then we will see if you are ready to understand that they get caught in their own lies by the statements they have made. First off tidal look is a phenomena which means it is a special occurrence that breaks all rational and logical rules to be believed by those who subscribe to it. That is where you first go wrong. second off The moon takes 27 days to rotate once and we should see all sides off it if it is spinning so slow that it takes that long to spin. But here again there is another hidden truth to that lie in that it can't be synchronous to us if we spin faster then it. Thirdly You have to ignore the fact that a rotation means just that that something is rotating independently so we should never see one side we should see 27 different frames every night as it rotates. Think okay

2019-12-02 01:05:34 UTC

it stops us from using the monies to actually investuigate

2019-12-02 01:07:45 UTC

Some people just need to pick apart what they believe and then that will help them see clearer

2019-12-02 01:08:30 UTC

"tidal look is a phenomena which means it is a special occurrence that breaks all rational and logical rules to be believed by those who subscribe to it" that is not the definition of a phenomenon

2019-12-02 01:08:45 UTC

Hell leave believes all together. Phenomena lol like if i put my hand in this fire a phenomena will occur and I won't get burned cause i said so.

2019-12-02 01:09:12 UTC

what? lol

2019-12-02 01:09:53 UTC

noun
noun: phenomenon; plural noun: phenomena
1.
a fact or situation that is observed to exist or happen, especially one whose cause or explanation is in question. This means it doesn't happen naturally so saying it occurs is like saying the tooth fairy took my tooth and left me some money

2019-12-02 01:10:53 UTC

definition of phenomena from merriam webster: plural phenomena : an observable fact or event

2019-12-02 01:11:16 UTC

[01:05] NS Jones: im not talking about what NASA says. this doesnt concern them at all. my issue is that the info posted by flat earthers often conflicting and confusing

2019-12-02 01:11:19 UTC

That is in question meaning it is not a constant and can't be proven

2019-12-02 01:11:19 UTC

why does that mean it doesnt happen naturally

2019-12-02 01:11:42 UTC

> a fact or situation that is observed to exist or happen, especially one whose cause or explanation is in question.

2019-12-02 01:11:50 UTC

do you mean that flat earther a contadict fla earther b or a contradicts himself

2019-12-02 01:11:53 UTC

I feel like natural phenomena are things?

2019-12-02 01:11:58 UTC

They are observed

2019-12-02 01:12:05 UTC

Some of their explanations are questioned

2019-12-02 01:12:22 UTC

Yeah phenomenon is something that occurs that you just use as a scape goat when you can't prove it happens in any other scenario in other words it does not repeat.

2019-12-02 01:12:33 UTC

@chad46 both

2019-12-02 01:12:39 UTC

what

2019-12-02 01:12:47 UTC

I think lightning is a natural phenomenon by that definition

2019-12-02 01:12:58 UTC

That repeats often

2019-12-02 01:12:59 UTC

well for a contradict b , we are not borg

2019-12-02 01:13:02 UTC

lightning is a great example actually

2019-12-02 01:13:24 UTC

nd for a contradicting themselves everyone does

2019-12-02 01:13:27 UTC

it is an observable event, but its cause is not clear at first

2019-12-02 01:13:33 UTC

however, it can be explained

2019-12-02 01:13:49 UTC

It is not a phenomena it does not meat the criterion it is known repetitive and observable so miss me with that.

2019-12-02 01:14:10 UTC

ok at this point your definition of phenomena is just incorrect

2019-12-02 01:14:13 UTC

But it is by the definition you posted

2019-12-02 01:14:15 UTC

Yes it is known the cause of lightning

2019-12-02 01:14:31 UTC

@chad46 what is borg

2019-12-02 01:14:35 UTC

The cause need not necessarily be unknown or debated

2019-12-02 01:14:38 UTC

What you guys are trying to do is ignore the fact that if something rotates it rotates and the moon doesn't

2019-12-02 01:14:41 UTC

Notice the 'especially' in your own definition

2019-12-02 01:14:42 UTC

google is your friend

2019-12-02 01:15:04 UTC

27 days of the moon revealing it's dark side is what should happen

2019-12-02 01:15:27 UTC

@chad46 i dont understand

2019-12-02 01:15:35 UTC

we know ๐Ÿ˜›

2019-12-02 01:15:39 UTC

i mean, i googled it but i dont get it

2019-12-02 01:15:43 UTC

Different slice every night should occur my good sirs. the fact that it doesn't shows you like to ignore it

2019-12-02 01:15:48 UTC

pfft

2019-12-02 01:16:06 UTC

youre saying youre not a hivemind i guess?

2019-12-02 01:16:18 UTC

and you are discussing philosophy of science

2019-12-02 01:16:35 UTC

But you guys will go giggle giggle it doesn't cause it has this phenomena of not moving for 27 days

2019-12-02 01:16:43 UTC

even though we move faster and it slower

2019-12-02 01:17:57 UTC

if i ask a globe earther how far is the sun on average they all give the "right answer"

2019-12-02 01:18:01 UTC

sassy, im really struggling to understand what youre even trying to say. your sentences are basically incomprehensible

2019-12-02 01:18:43 UTC

when asked how do you know, well thats different sitution

2019-12-02 01:20:25 UTC

you know what I am saying You need to critically think and make yourself a visual with some potatoes. You can use any balls you might have in your home to put it to the test and see if you are just being fooled by them or them and your self. Put the potatoes on the table and spin one really fast while spinning the other slow and get to its' level and tell me does it not move to where you can see the slow moving ones different areas of it. I don't know how simple You need it put buddy.

2019-12-02 01:20:56 UTC

Tidal locking is a result of gravity lol

2019-12-02 01:21:52 UTC

No theoretical unproven bs either like gravity looks it in place so we only see one side so gone on with that fairytale

2019-12-02 01:22:31 UTC

Gravity looks it in place?

2019-12-02 01:22:44 UTC

Tidal lock ask yourself it is rotating or not.

2019-12-02 01:22:45 UTC

Sorry I donโ€™t understand what you mean by that

2019-12-02 01:23:22 UTC

Yes. Itโ€™s rotating as the same rate for it to complete a full orbit

2019-12-02 01:23:28 UTC

Like Mercury and the Sun

2019-12-02 01:23:33 UTC

Amphidromic points

2019-12-02 01:23:49 UTC

Or even Pluto and Charon which are actually tidally locked to each other

2019-12-02 01:24:02 UTC

They both only show one side to each other

2019-12-02 01:24:03 UTC

No it is not it is rotating at slow speed and take a full 27 days to complete so you shouldn't see the same side every night

2019-12-02 01:28:21 UTC

It takes 27 days to revolve around the Earth and 27 days to spin on its own axis

2019-12-02 01:28:35 UTC

^correct

2019-12-02 01:28:39 UTC

lol

2019-12-02 01:28:49 UTC

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zi6FkABFcQY This is what i mean by it should't see the same side it spins just like we do as it goes around us so we should never have a one sided moon seen.

2019-12-02 01:28:57 UTC

thats why you only see one side, according to globe theory

2019-12-02 01:29:16 UTC

Thats true.

2019-12-02 01:29:37 UTC

Supposedly we see like 59% of a sphere

2019-12-02 01:29:51 UTC

But that is assuming it is a sphere

2019-12-02 01:29:51 UTC

Itโ€™s not complicated lol

2019-12-02 01:30:47 UTC

Its amazing the odds of things with the globe

2019-12-02 01:30:58 UTC

Something like that should of never happened

2019-12-02 01:30:59 UTC

@Sassy Undeniably that video is not correct, though

2019-12-02 01:31:34 UTC

for multiple reasons

2019-12-02 01:32:01 UTC

either way you have to ignore the fact that if it takes 27 days to go around us and 27 days to spin on it's own access at one point do you realize it should be different on each of the 27 days?

2019-12-02 01:32:34 UTC

wait ignore what?

2019-12-02 01:32:37 UTC

It moves slow enough for us to see it different every night

2019-12-02 01:32:59 UTC

So is it spinning or not?

2019-12-02 01:33:03 UTC

and no, if it takes 27 days to rotate on its axis and 27 days to orbit the earth, that means you always see one face

2019-12-02 01:33:07 UTC

yes, it is spinning

2019-12-02 01:33:16 UTC

slower than the earth

2019-12-02 01:34:16 UTC

Why would that make any since day one it makes a slight change it should be noticeable that it is making its rotation because it is moving slower then us so we should see this change.

2019-12-02 01:35:53 UTC

On day 2 we should see a little more cause guess what it moves slow

2019-12-02 01:36:39 UTC

this is really hard to explain in words

2019-12-02 01:37:18 UTC

its much easier to understand if i could draw diagrams

2019-12-02 01:37:43 UTC

No not really why don't you get two marbles and move them with your hand maybe then you can understand it better because you can actually do the rotations and marbles have different marbalization so you can see what I am saying.

2019-12-02 01:38:46 UTC

We rotate 1 time every 24 hours bud

2019-12-02 01:38:48 UTC

so

2019-12-02 01:38:50 UTC

that means

2019-12-02 01:39:07 UTC

we would be back around to see a different sliver of its rotation

2019-12-02 01:39:19 UTC

all 27 days

2019-12-02 01:39:43 UTC

before the face makes its way back to us. draw a face on one side then do it

2019-12-02 01:39:59 UTC

a happy face on one side leave the other side blank

2019-12-02 01:40:13 UTC

ugh can we just get in a call and ill share my screen and draw what i mean in ms paint

2019-12-02 01:40:28 UTC

sure

2019-12-02 01:40:46 UTC

wait what kind of call

2019-12-02 01:41:23 UTC

still if you draw it you will be force to see reality

2019-12-02 01:41:34 UTC

a discord call

2019-12-02 01:41:59 UTC

how do you do that

2019-12-02 01:42:17 UTC

hold on give me a few minutes

2019-12-02 01:49:15 UTC

anyone wanna talk in the flat earth chat

2019-12-02 01:49:28 UTC

It takes 27 Earth days for the Moon to complete an orbit

2019-12-02 01:51:03 UTC

Earth days lol

2019-12-02 01:54:29 UTC

Every time the Moon moves around in space it also rotates at the exact same rate as it moves, relative to Earth, thatโ€™s as simple as it sounds really

2019-12-02 02:33:42 UTC

can u add me to da call

2019-12-02 02:33:49 UTC

i want to be in dis as weel

2019-12-02 02:33:51 UTC

well

2019-12-02 02:33:59 UTC

?

2019-12-02 02:34:55 UTC

the two people above are in a call having a debate and i would like to participate

2019-12-02 02:35:51 UTC

you're more than welcome to join the vc

2019-12-02 02:35:57 UTC

oml no\

2019-12-02 02:36:01 UTC

look up in the chat

2019-12-02 02:36:26 UTC

err

2019-12-02 02:36:39 UTC

you can still participate in the debate.

2019-12-02 02:37:15 UTC

?

2019-12-02 02:38:40 UTC

what

2019-12-02 03:02:58 UTC

Compromise: the earth is a semicircle : ) still round still flat

2019-12-02 03:10:11 UTC

no

2019-12-02 03:10:18 UTC

Its round not flat

2019-12-02 03:10:46 UTC

Of course

2019-12-02 03:10:56 UTC

Itโ€™s not perfectly circular though

2019-12-02 03:11:36 UTC

It IS slightly flattened at the equator

2019-12-02 03:12:52 UTC

Ironically enough

2019-12-02 03:13:03 UTC

ik

2019-12-02 03:28:47 UTC

I thought it buldged at the equator

2019-12-02 03:35:43 UTC

yeah thats what i thought

2019-12-02 04:05:13 UTC

Yeah it does

2019-12-02 04:08:14 UTC

Oh sorry I meant it flattens at its poles

2019-12-02 05:02:07 UTC

We ended our call and did not reach a conclusion but maybe I gave him cog diss i hope. Either way I am unchanged

2019-12-02 05:04:04 UTC

Thatโ€™s okay

2019-12-02 05:04:09 UTC

Itโ€™s still good to debate

2019-12-02 05:24:11 UTC

Hello

the earth is round

2019-12-02 05:56:58 UTC

Oh I know

2019-12-02 06:52:30 UTC

The suns flat

2019-12-02 07:07:49 UTC

Jupitar is flat

2019-12-02 07:07:59 UTC

ok

2019-12-02 07:14:32 UTC

Mmm

2019-12-02 13:37:50 UTC

I have a question

2019-12-02 19:29:52 UTC

On a flat earth, when rain falls from a cloud, does it lose gravitational potential energy?

2019-12-02 19:33:29 UTC

How much static is in the air

2019-12-02 19:34:21 UTC

None

2019-12-02 19:34:31 UTC

Or not enough to cause an influence

2019-12-02 19:34:41 UTC

Lol

2019-12-02 19:35:27 UTC

Well?

2019-12-02 19:40:14 UTC

aight

2019-12-02 19:40:25 UTC
2019-12-02 19:40:44 UTC

@Juulesmann 3 reasons why its a globe?

2019-12-02 19:40:58 UTC

ok

2019-12-02 19:41:24 UTC

ship thing first

2019-12-02 19:41:48 UTC

i realize yall have those photoshopped videos of ships getting smaller

2019-12-02 19:42:10 UTC

but I literally went to a ship festival the other day

2019-12-02 19:42:10 UTC

Like what photoshop videos?

2019-12-02 19:42:16 UTC

and watched

2019-12-02 19:42:16 UTC

Itโ€™s an important question

2019-12-02 19:42:22 UTC

sorry my bad

2019-12-02 19:42:36 UTC

ill find one

2019-12-02 19:42:49 UTC

@Juulesmann goto voice. Chad says he will interview you

2019-12-02 19:43:01 UTC

On a spherical Earth, gravity appears to pull objects toward its centre. Iโ€™m not really sure how that would possibly work on a flat Earth

2019-12-02 19:43:16 UTC

Yeah if u find a photoshop video of a ship let me know @Juulesmann

2019-12-02 19:43:29 UTC

But for a proper flat Earth theory, understanding of gravity would be needed

2019-12-02 19:43:43 UTC

i'm sorry but my mic simply doesn't work on discord

2019-12-02 19:43:47 UTC

dk why

2019-12-02 19:44:04 UTC

All water would be sucked toward the centre of the disc and that clearly isnโ€™t happening

2019-12-02 19:44:11 UTC

@SpiderLedgic (Cancer) yeah i dont know. I would assume its not pulling to a center or the center is uniformly dense and gigantic under us

2019-12-02 19:44:37 UTC

@SpiderLedgic (Cancer) could you make a diagram explaining that please

2019-12-02 19:44:52 UTC

@SpiderLedgic (Cancer) you are assuming a core

2019-12-02 19:45:02 UTC

vsauce has a great diagram on his channel

2019-12-02 19:45:30 UTC

have you heard of prntscrn

2019-12-02 19:45:34 UTC

@SpiderLedgic (Cancer) you are trying to use the globe model to make sense of a different model

Shell Theorem

2019-12-02 19:46:54 UTC

Ton of bad info there

2019-12-02 19:47:23 UTC

Seriously talk about garbage science

2019-12-02 19:47:25 UTC

i see a straw man

2019-12-02 19:47:37 UTC

And in real life, if one were in the Earthโ€™s centre, gravity wouldnโ€™t act on you at all

How does gravity work on Flat Earth?

2019-12-02 19:49:03 UTC

@Juulesmann that is all flat earth society bs

2019-12-02 19:49:11 UTC

We can describe how it would work on a globe pretty accurately

2019-12-02 19:49:33 UTC

we can see how it works pretty clearly

2019-12-02 19:49:36 UTC

@Citizen Z please show me a up to date model then

2019-12-02 19:49:48 UTC

it seems even flat earthers can't agree on everything

2019-12-02 19:49:49 UTC

heavy things fall to the ground

2019-12-02 19:49:52 UTC

ok

2019-12-02 19:50:47 UTC

is there gravity on flat earth

2019-12-02 19:50:49 UTC

Up to date model

2019-12-02 19:51:11 UTC

Yes

2019-12-02 19:51:20 UTC

There would need to be

2019-12-02 19:51:32 UTC

There is an effect known as gravity

2019-12-02 19:51:34 UTC

But it couldnโ€™t work the same way it does on a sphere

2019-12-02 19:51:58 UTC

You dont know how it works

2019-12-02 19:52:02 UTC

globe earthers dont agree on the shape of the globe

2019-12-02 19:52:06 UTC

Thats the funny thing

2019-12-02 19:52:21 UTC

tell me more @Citizen Z

2019-12-02 19:52:44 UTC

More what?

2019-12-02 19:52:47 UTC

Apparently no one knows how gravity would work on a flat Earth

2019-12-02 19:52:55 UTC

That agrees with observations

2019-12-02 19:52:58 UTC

about this gravity that we "don't understand"

2019-12-02 19:53:31 UTC

nobody knows how gravity works anywhere!!!

2019-12-02 19:53:39 UTC

@Juulesmann how can i tell you more? I dont know what gravity even is. Warping of space and time?

2019-12-02 19:53:42 UTC

is that so

2019-12-02 19:54:14 UTC

Itโ€™s the curvature of space time

2019-12-02 19:54:23 UTC

yes

2019-12-02 19:54:30 UTC

Weโ€™ve known this for 100 years

2019-12-02 19:54:39 UTC

K what is space time

2019-12-02 19:54:42 UTC

Nearly

2019-12-02 19:55:25 UTC

Spacetime is the combination of the 3 dimensions of space (length, height and depth) with time

2019-12-02 19:55:33 UTC

Time is treated as its own dimension

2019-12-02 19:55:53 UTC

But what causes it? Why doesn't it translate from quantum scales? Why does it fail explain galactic rotations at macro scales? Gravity is an unfinished theory.
