2017-03-13 19:50:19 UTC

redpill me on what CCNA stands for

2017-03-13 19:50:20 UTC

which is basically entry level IT cert

2017-03-13 19:50:28 UTC

Cisco routing and switching cert

2017-03-13 19:50:49 UTC

basics of networking required for like 99% of all IT work

2017-03-13 19:50:56 UTC

k

2017-03-13 19:50:59 UTC

well then

2017-03-13 19:51:02 UTC

im confused as to why you cant find a job, i have a degree in psych and no certs at all and have a decent outlook

2017-03-13 19:51:06 UTC

you probably know more about coding than I do in that case

2017-03-13 19:51:09 UTC

I dont have a degree

2017-03-13 19:51:12 UTC

I dropped out lol

BA opens up a lot even if you dont have other stuff

2017-03-13 19:51:51 UTC

>tfw getting a phd in engineering and worried about jobs

2017-03-13 19:51:57 UTC

at least I'm not a dog wearing goggles tbh

2017-03-13 19:52:05 UTC

Im really fucking confused as to why, I was a BS in Physics before I dropped out and some of the BAs I knew were dumb as rocks

2017-03-13 19:52:15 UTC

btw BS in physics is a bad degree

2017-03-13 19:52:20 UTC

get a BS In comp sci

2017-03-13 19:52:21 UTC

unless you want to be around unshowered autism and spend the rest of your life in school

2017-03-13 19:52:48 UTC

Marine engineer >$100k a year > work 6 months > all practical

2017-03-13 19:52:59 UTC

@BIG4U you are top tier husband

2017-03-13 19:53:02 UTC

or go to grad school and get a MS in mech e

2017-03-13 19:53:05 UTC

also jack donovan is a faggot

2017-03-13 19:53:10 UTC

and build airplanes

2017-03-13 19:53:13 UTC

It's true he is

2017-03-13 19:53:16 UTC

FUCK airplanes

2017-03-13 19:53:28 UTC

fuck YOU!

2017-03-13 19:53:31 UTC

It was a good conversation tho

2017-03-13 19:53:33 UTC

you take that back

2017-03-13 19:53:34 UTC

@BIG4U AC/DC sucks and also the wolves of vinland are cringe tier

2017-03-13 19:53:35 UTC

airplanes are pretty cool tbh

2017-03-13 19:53:39 UTC

the coolest

2017-03-13 19:53:48 UTC

designing them is boring as fuck

2017-03-13 19:53:49 UTC

Convo y u tell me

2017-03-13 19:53:49 UTC

@BIG4U what does a marine engineer do, exactly?

2017-03-13 19:53:51 UTC

who here /twofeetofsnow/

https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/274262571367006208/290935513538494464/storm.JPG

2017-03-13 19:53:52 UTC

I sit next to an aerospace

2017-03-13 19:53:54 UTC

@Convo incorrect

2017-03-13 19:54:03 UTC

every single senior project is like 1 of 3 designs

2017-03-13 19:54:12 UTC

you got your super thin with the weird trapezoidal wings

2017-03-13 19:54:16 UTC

you got your jet shaped ones

2017-03-13 19:54:20 UTC

you got your one wingers

2017-03-13 19:54:24 UTC

they're all one of those three

2017-03-13 19:54:27 UTC

same with bicycles

2017-03-13 19:54:31 UTC

yeah

2017-03-13 19:54:35 UTC

i wouldnt want to design bicycles

2017-03-13 19:54:40 UTC

don't judge a profession by it's college seniors

2017-03-13 19:54:45 UTC

mmm

2017-03-13 19:54:47 UTC

lots of engineering students do

2017-03-13 19:54:50 UTC

and they come up with stupid bikes

2017-03-13 19:55:06 UTC

every year, there's a wave of ugly bike designs that hit the internet in the spring

2017-03-13 19:55:12 UTC

lol

2017-03-13 19:55:19 UTC

@northern_confederate apparently PA is supposed to get a whole bunch

2017-03-13 19:55:24 UTC

Yuge i thought you were a money dude not an engineer

2017-03-13 19:55:31 UTC

I fucked up

2017-03-13 19:55:34 UTC

@YUGE I sit in the engine room for 6 hours at a time, 12 hours a day. It's 120DB. I watch gauges and check fluid levels and do status logs. I change oil and coolant and filters as needed. If something breaks I fix it. I keep the engine room spotless.

2017-03-13 19:55:40 UTC

my soul is an engineer

2017-03-13 19:55:42 UTC

yes you guys are fugged almost as much as i am

2017-03-13 19:55:47 UTC

120DB 100 degrees

2017-03-13 19:55:47 UTC

@northern_confederate me ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

2017-03-13 19:55:53 UTC

yet i get to scheme schekles away from the jews for a living

2017-03-13 19:55:53 UTC

@BIG4U thats a pretty sweet job man

2017-03-13 19:55:56 UTC

not even joking

2017-03-13 19:56:01 UTC

It is

2017-03-13 19:56:05 UTC

how do I into engine rooms?

2017-03-13 19:56:10 UTC

It's an endurance test

2017-03-13 19:56:13 UTC

@YUGE wanna see my thing i designed

2017-03-13 19:56:15 UTC

its a foot

2017-03-13 19:56:23 UTC

@BIG4U I did not realize your job was called a marine engineer

2017-03-13 19:56:23 UTC

It's s mental thing

2017-03-13 19:56:36 UTC

how does one into marine engineer

2017-03-13 19:56:43 UTC

yes plz

2017-03-13 19:56:44 UTC

by being white privilege

2017-03-13 19:56:44 UTC

Weeks on end with no days off

2017-03-13 19:56:48 UTC

I just want a job I wont hate

2017-03-13 19:56:59 UTC

where I feel welcome, not like I want to murder my colleagues

2017-03-13 19:57:01 UTC

Oh this job will make you hate it

2017-03-13 19:57:01 UTC

@Convo I grew up around naval aviation and 2x was denied an opportutnity to fly

2017-03-13 19:57:12 UTC

@Koba get a job at a college so you have fresh eye candy every couple of months

2017-03-13 19:57:17 UTC

>liking your job
yeah that's just a meme

2017-03-13 19:57:18 UTC

Unless you've been in the military and loved it

2017-03-13 19:57:26 UTC

@badtanman thats not a bad idea tbh

2017-03-13 19:57:40 UTC

I love my job but there are times I just sit down there and scream

2017-03-13 19:57:41 UTC

pitt has some job openings and UPMC is downtown

2017-03-13 19:57:44 UTC

and theyre always higher

2017-03-13 19:57:47 UTC

time to spam my resume again

2017-03-13 19:57:55 UTC

@Convo is that a robot foot or a prosthetic?

2017-03-13 19:57:56 UTC

Nobody can hear me scream

2017-03-13 19:58:04 UTC

see if I can break my interview ratio of 0.31

2017-03-13 19:58:14 UTC

3 interviews or so for every 10 applications

2017-03-13 19:58:19 UTC

a physician can read the logs

2017-03-13 19:58:20 UTC

You can go to a 4 year maritime college

2017-03-13 19:58:22 UTC

also college IT is easy as fuck, and i worked at one that was the most advanced around

2017-03-13 19:58:33 UTC

>not working with a recruiter so you don't have to send any applications

2017-03-13 19:58:37 UTC

yeah I did IT work for my high school

2017-03-13 19:58:41 UTC

@Convo that's really cool

2017-03-13 19:58:48 UTC

it was like 95% sitting around and fucking off and 5% actual work because something would break

2017-03-13 19:58:52 UTC

You can find 2 year community colleges that train you to be an engine man

2017-03-13 19:59:04 UTC

And from there work your way up the ladder

2017-03-13 19:59:11 UTC

@Koba sign up for dice.com if you can tolerate getting phone calls all the time

2017-03-13 19:59:37 UTC

I expect a big boom in maritime jobs after trumps oil economy gets booming

2017-03-13 19:59:59 UTC

You can get your federal issues mariner documents

2017-03-13 20:00:03 UTC

>as though the oil economy isnt booming

2017-03-13 20:00:13 UTC

It's a buerocratic mess tho

2017-03-13 20:00:17 UTC

It's not

2017-03-13 20:00:20 UTC

idk man, oils pretty fucked its just the jews who keep fucking trading it up

2017-03-13 20:00:27 UTC

it was booming

2017-03-13 20:00:27 UTC

Oil collapsed two years ago

2017-03-13 20:00:32 UTC

but then the saudis fucked everything up

2017-03-13 20:00:57 UTC

Currently there are hundreds of offshore oil boats Laid up

2017-03-13 20:01:07 UTC

It's not booming it's in bust

2017-03-13 20:01:10 UTC

>he has faith in the petrodollar
i'm KEEPIN mah Moneh until we develop a jew-to-natural-gas chemical process

2017-03-13 20:01:10 UTC

I swear man, I dont know who it is who keeps trading up oil but if I ever meet them Ill fucking strangle them out for jewish tricks

2017-03-13 20:01:18 UTC

yea, US oil crashed because the arabs started doing price manipulation to fuck with us

2017-03-13 20:01:24 UTC

I lost a decent amount of money betting on a Cushing storage crisis last year

2017-03-13 20:01:28 UTC

Doesn't matter why

2017-03-13 20:01:30 UTC

it's the arabs, koba

2017-03-13 20:01:32 UTC

read about OPEC

2017-03-13 20:01:34 UTC

It just is

2017-03-13 20:01:36 UTC

yes I know

2017-03-13 20:01:42 UTC

@YUGE check out Art Bermans blog

2017-03-13 20:01:44 UTC

good stuff

2017-03-13 20:01:45 UTC

all free

2017-03-13 20:01:46 UTC

no ads

2017-03-13 20:01:51 UTC

But it will change with trumps policies

2017-03-13 20:01:54 UTC

ok

2017-03-13 20:01:58 UTC

hopefully

2017-03-13 20:02:04 UTC

yes, oil is already starting to rise a little

2017-03-13 20:02:07 UTC

that's a good sign

2017-03-13 20:02:07 UTC

I hope the fucking EPA gets ground to a nub

2017-03-13 20:02:14 UTC

eh

2017-03-13 20:02:14 UTC

means there's demand building in the market

2017-03-13 20:02:19 UTC

its disconnected from fundamentals

2017-03-13 20:02:24 UTC

our production will come back online, fuel prices will fall

2017-03-13 20:02:41 UTC

EPA is being neutered

2017-03-13 20:02:46 UTC

none of this happens overnight

2017-03-13 20:03:09 UTC

I'll be a happy man when OTR #2 diesel falls below $2.00/gal

2017-03-13 20:03:29 UTC

Exxon is putting 20 billion into gulf refineries

2017-03-13 20:03:33 UTC

That's HUGE

2017-03-13 20:03:35 UTC

yup

2017-03-13 20:03:38 UTC

Ill be happy when its 50cents a gallon because were pulling it off of Europa due to trumps expansion of NASA

2017-03-13 20:03:46 UTC

the pipeline int he dakotas is happening, that's big too

2017-03-13 20:03:48 UTC

trump is opening drilling rights everywhere

2017-03-13 20:03:56 UTC

or whatever that one moon that saturn has

2017-03-13 20:03:59 UTC

ganymede maybe

2017-03-13 20:04:04 UTC

TItan

2017-03-13 20:04:05 UTC

we don't need to go to saturn moons to get decent fuel

2017-03-13 20:04:06 UTC

its titan

2017-03-13 20:04:12 UTC

itd be cool tho

2017-03-13 20:04:28 UTC

you'd probably waste more energy going there and harvesting than you'd yield

2017-03-13 20:04:33 UTC

true

2017-03-13 20:04:43 UTC

but thats how research advances humanity

2017-03-13 20:04:58 UTC

and if we developed a propulsion tech that changed that equation, we wouldn't need to scour the solar system for petrofuels

2017-03-13 20:05:00 UTC

we could build a giant tube from Titan to earth

2017-03-13 20:05:09 UTC

and just pump it all here

2017-03-13 20:05:09 UTC

wait, how the fuck does a saturn moon have dinosaur juice?

2017-03-13 20:05:25 UTC

not really sure tbh, its light stuff not heavier oil like what comes out of mexico

2017-03-13 20:05:47 UTC

weird

2017-03-13 20:05:56 UTC

I thought it needed organic material, pressure, and heat

2017-03-13 20:06:04 UTC

methane and other -ethanes iirc

2017-03-13 20:06:10 UTC

its like -200C

2017-03-13 20:06:13 UTC

ambient

2017-03-13 20:06:59 UTC

I dunno, I'm not a chemist

2017-03-13 20:07:38 UTC

@BIG4U I'm going to be an amateur diesel mechanic in a few months

I took general Chem last semester

2017-03-13 20:08:07 UTC

wish me luck

2017-03-13 20:08:33 UTC

gl, its not as difficult as people say it is

2017-03-13 20:08:40 UTC

the labs are the hardest part because of time consumption

2017-03-13 20:08:43 UTC

I've been learning things

2017-03-13 20:08:53 UTC

I bought a bus koba, I'm not going to school

2017-03-13 20:09:07 UTC

lol misread the conversation

2017-03-13 20:09:09 UTC

but I am learning about diesels and will be keeping it running once I take off

2017-03-13 20:09:55 UTC

my bus engine has heritage all they back to sherman tanks

2017-03-13 20:10:07 UTC

that was the first use of the detroit 2 strokes

2017-03-13 20:10:10 UTC

so why did you buy a bus

2017-03-13 20:10:11 UTC

are you traveling

2017-03-13 20:10:14 UTC

I know it's a cheap way to live

2017-03-13 20:10:16 UTC

and it's comfy

2017-03-13 20:10:17 UTC

because I fucking hate san francisco

2017-03-13 20:10:20 UTC

mmm

2017-03-13 20:10:21 UTC

and I can

2017-03-13 20:10:23 UTC

wew lad

2017-03-13 20:10:26 UTC

>living in san fran

2017-03-13 20:10:27 UTC

where are you traveling to

2017-03-13 20:10:33 UTC

wherever I want

2017-03-13 20:10:44 UTC

do you have a satellite dish for your online job

2017-03-13 20:10:44 UTC

or what

2017-03-13 20:10:47 UTC

decent answer tbh

2017-03-13 20:11:02 UTC

mobile hotspot and a cell signal amplifier/antenna

2017-03-13 20:11:18 UTC

I looked into satellite

2017-03-13 20:11:22 UTC

too slow and expensive

2017-03-13 20:11:34 UTC

and unnecessary with verizon's network and a signal amp

2017-03-13 20:11:37 UTC

the latency on satellite is terrible

2017-03-13 20:11:40 UTC

that too

2017-03-13 20:11:44 UTC

so are you not planning on settling down anytime soon

2017-03-13 20:11:56 UTC

i guess soon is relative

2017-03-13 20:12:02 UTC

how old are you

2017-03-13 20:12:04 UTC

not entirely sure how it'll all play out

2017-03-13 20:12:05 UTC

30

2017-03-13 20:12:08 UTC

I'm 21 and I'm mortified that I'm getting too old

2017-03-13 20:12:16 UTC

haha

2017-03-13 20:12:16 UTC

I want like 5 kids min

2017-03-13 20:12:22 UTC

so do I

2017-03-13 20:12:25 UTC

you're way ahead of me

2017-03-13 20:12:33 UTC

all the phd candidates i met in texas were married and had their first kind in freshman year

2017-03-13 20:12:39 UTC

>21
>too old

>tfw almost 26

2017-03-13 20:12:52 UTC

convo, I've wasted 6 years of my life in CA

2017-03-13 20:13:01 UTC

I've written it off and am moving on

2017-03-13 20:13:01 UTC

@badtanman we poles are notorious for our quick wits and deep, introspective, thoughtful souls

2017-03-13 20:13:15 UTC

where are you going to look for a girl tho

2017-03-13 20:13:19 UTC

>cant even speak polish

2017-03-13 20:13:22 UTC

don't know

2017-03-13 20:13:28 UTC

not here

2017-03-13 20:13:32 UTC

probably in the south

2017-03-13 20:13:39 UTC

Ive heard the south is comfy

2017-03-13 20:13:40 UTC

which is probably where I'll eventually end up

2017-03-13 20:13:45 UTC

nice and warm

2017-03-13 20:13:52 UTC

feels like home to me

2017-03-13 20:13:57 UTC

it's in my blood

2017-03-13 20:14:37 UTC

this is beautiful country, it's filled with terrible people. But even so, I don't think I'm a californian

2017-03-13 20:14:40 UTC

I fucking hate the south

2017-03-13 20:14:42 UTC

this place has always felt foreign

2017-03-13 20:14:45 UTC

Anyone down for voice?
