I mean itโs almost as if traditional gender roles are basically dead in modern society
they're not
Itโs just a vocal minority saying they are.
They kinda are. Thereโs no more societal expectations on whoโs the provider, who raises children, ect
unless you force quotas, gender roles are very alive in modern society
Its what currently causes this argument for the "wage" gap
the modern traditional roles are still taht women pick nurturing jobs
Now itโs you do you
We have forced quotas lol
Wtf do you think all these diversity officers in big corporations are for
i mean forced quotas as in "force women to study STEM"
that once a woman graduates highschool, they have no choice, they must go to STEM and then go work
so that STEM becomes 50/50
because they don't currently simply because of gender roles
Women don't want to do technical jobs
they mostly want nurturing jobs, like vet, nurse, caregiver etc
you don't see many women doing construction work, or work on some oil rig
theres no quotas for those jobs either
Gender roles pretty much moved from:
Hard Work and Nurturing Home
To
Hard Work and Nurturing Work
Wouldnโt that then mean you canโt do both? Unless thereโs a job out there that would be hard&nurturing work
You can do both
gender roles aren't an absolute
Joan of Arc wasn't confined to being a maid back in 1430
Just like women now aren't confined to nuturing work
hard work is not exactly the right word i don't think
If youโre saying weโve evolved to the point where the male role would be something like physical labor on an oil rig, and the female role is now nurturing work like being a nurse
How do you fit both roles?
i would say physical but tech isn't very physical and nurturing can be very physical. There is a word to describe what you mean but hard is not it
Soldier ๐
^
battlefield medic would fill both
i mean hard as in the jobs that really require yuo to just hardball it
You can't just go "eeh i don't wanna, i don't feel my best today"
So anything from oil rigs to kicking everyones teeth in financially on wallstreet
ICU nurse.
or ofc, being a soldier on the frontlines
@Dr.Wol what? you think a parent or nurse can just go "eeeeh, i don't feel like **feeding the kid today**"
lmao
like i said, here is a word for it, but hard is not it
I mean, they can, that just makes them bad at their job
that could be said for an oil rig worker
hence my point
a nurse can call in sick
a soldier in the trenches can't just go "eeh, you guys mind if i go for a drink 1000 meters back?"
yes, but technically an oil rig worker could call in sick. i highly doubt they want a sick person who is at half performance messing around. Now, that doesn't mean they won't TRY and not call in sick
but even a cop can call in sick. there are very few jobs you can't.
hell, even a soldier gets a slightly easier job if sick, even on the front lines in the trenches.
It would be sad for an oil worker, but Deepwater Horizon happened so......
but this is off point
yeah but you know what i mean right?
Basically the kind of jobs where unless you're seeing colors you shouldn't and basically walking becomes an expression of art, you're not just gonna be able to bail
its something work vs nurture work.
lmao
"have gone to Dependable Patrolium. DP"
and yeah sorry, i'm very poor with words
i can't think of the word so don't worry
i think mechanical is a better description.
requires design and working with human made things
building stuff
Engineering? ๐
yeah, i think that covers most of the more male dominated fields
engineering and conflict oriented roles
like business
Beta jobs vs nurturing jobs? ๐
lmao
Cuck jobs vs nurturing jobs
still love when the left calls tech people "bros". All i can think of "Since when have nerds EVER been bros? Could you be more out of touch?"
well Physics/Chemistry/Engineering etc are called Beta fields i believe?
wut
ooh wait, thats poor translation
in Dutch they're called "Beta Sciences"
which is our description of "Exact sciences" (aka, most STEM fields)
aaaah
lmao
my bad
I love it everytime they refer to him as โtech bro Martian Shkreliโ. Like, what โbroโ buys thousands in Magic the Gathering cards on a whim
yes, that would be a poor translation
the whole "bro" thing is because they see Bro's as those "muuh gonna hunt some pusseeeeh!!" sexist males
And since right-wingers are sexists they just cross over that crossover
Or James Damore, the epidemic of tech bro culture apparently. like really? this guy that looks like he got shoved into lockers in high school? THIS is your vision of toxic masculinity? Holy fucking shit are you out of touch when you forget football players who beat their wives and murder while still playing the game are out there
ikr
but its a testament to the lefts inability to debate
They just throw the common buzzwords for "enemy" and hope to shame and brand the enemy away
The media would have been better off labeling him an incel
fuck Micheal Vick, James Damore, tech Bro is the dangerous alpha male now
At least that would have been believable had I not read his memo
if thats a tech bro, what would people like Stephen Hawking have been?
Tech jocks?
Tech borg
a Tech Jockey maybe
Cuz he was mounted too
well you see, they killed him so it doesn't matter
actually he was so far in their protected classes they couldn't kick him out. because even they realized how bad for PR going after someone that crippled would be
atleast he dont have to live through the horror where "facts are patriarchy" becomes the norm for a while in acedemics
God every time I think of Stephen Hawking now I just remember that John Oliver segment where Hawking keeps roasting him
a cyborg genius vs a partizan tool ๐
i still find oliver funny from time to time. usually when he is starting a beef with a company
Oliver is great when he's on a topic which people regardless of political conviction can agree on.
When he's being a partisan hack, he's painful to just look at.
John Oliverโs segments where heโs not talking about the government are usually great. Itโs when he starts talking about his personal politics I turn him off
basically with all comedians
They actually are funny when they're not pushing a political narrative
Like, his shit on multilevel marketing & pyramid schemes was great
but it does prove a point
Its not that they're incapable of being funny
Its that they're on the side that is the one that should be mocked, and since they can't they wont hence its not funny
Itโs only when he starts desperately shilling for one political party that I stop listening. Everything else he does is usually really good, and shows the good & bad of the issue. Itโs only when he goes full shill for my politics that he starts ignoring half the problem
Think I posted this here before but https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eXiIDhtrcdk&feature=youtu.be ๐
but its also a thing of, we dont listen to them to be told to feel bad for our political beliefs, we like to listen to them to laugh and FORGET about the real life shit for a bit
I donโt care if comedians make fun of both sides itโs just annoying when it becomes less about making people laugh and more about attacking one side to push an agenda.
well thats why its not funny, because it stops being comedy
Yeah
and ofc, politics are always the same so the jokes become boring too
its been what is it? 600 days now since we DIDN'T get told the joke of "Trump am i right? hurr durr"
i wanna see Colbert take a swing at Obama or something ๐
Or something with Hillary involving stairs.
There was one SNL skit a while back with a Trump supporting dog. That was decent.
Probably only liked it because it backfired on them though.
Hey, I caught a screencap of a rare sight.
huehuee
2 days ago he joined a conversation actually
More common, maybe, when he's not covering an event.
๐
lol
I don't blame em' for chuckin'
I'm sorry, guys. I'm apparently a member of a terrorist organization...
Also, hard as hell to look at all of this marching down where I used to work as a bike courier. Between this, and the area that Antifa trashed on J20....
ehn arr ayyyyyyyyyyyyy lmao
Thank you friend.
Well I get irrationally irritated when people call the NRA a terrorist organization. I mean, an organization that promotes responsible gun handling, background checks? Terrorism?
I mean though... They could redo their ad campaigns. Some look like something a terrorist would post.
Most of those who call the NRA a terrorist organization, know nothing about the NRA.
Yeah.
I just broke a fucking collet
fucking chinesium
@Dr.Wol If you want tips as to how to treat a women give this a read.
all women are thots
@OliveBlanc I have to disagree with you once you. You just need to understand them and then we can save them from feminism.
All women
Are THOTS
@OliveBlanc are you a MGTOW?
I'm a fem boy fox
Try not being a cuck and women will respect you it's really that easy.
Slightly better version.
Someone actually added lightsaber visuals/sound effects.
> Femboy Fox
> Cuck
It seems like you're projecting.
I like that the person who did that first post was clearly a weeb
It's true that alot of weebs don't know much about women however this one dose.
everyone here have big gay
*TAKE THAT BACK*
OR I'M CALLING MOM
What the hell am I looking at?
"Hoggwash"
Seriously, this guy is criminally undersubbed.
Taking a look at it.
For one thing, it's a damn shame that the perfect person to play Bret Weinstein is already older than Bret Weinstein. :/
Would totally have Mandy Patinkin play Bret Weinstein in the Evergreen College movie.
lol nice
But yeah, I'm subbed to this guy, and know what browsers and addons to use on them to try to minimize how much information Google gets from me.
I can't look at Brett and not think of Inigo Montoya, or Rube...
Hmm, I'm going to need to listen to that Jordan Peterson + Bret Weinstein JRE.
Sounds like an interesting podcast.
There was also a Dave Rubin which had both Shapiro and Peterson in it, too. I been meaning to watch that one but I just haven't gotten around to it yet.
lol, I like how it seems like Dave Rubin is trying to stray away from another debate like Blair White and Candace Owens...
Yeah lol.
Poor Dave.
I watched that mess.
He's just didn't have the assertive presence there required to be a strong moderator.
Well, what's worse
it was actually admitted in the session
I don't think the moderation was the issue
that Candace got to PICK who she debated.
Well, it was part of it, but I didn't know about that.
I enjoyed the Ben/Peterson debate
So she intentionally picked Blair.
Mmmhmm
a lot of it actually centered around religion
I think I watched that... it wasn't that much of a debate, was it?
Although, I did expect them at one point to both look at Dave and go 'shut up!' before going back to arguing with each other.
it didn't feel like a debate because I'm use to tempers flaring in debates nowadays
IBS.
Jordan and Weinstein? They agreed alot to have a debate.
but it was a debate in that Peterson & Ben have very different philosophical outlooks
Talking about Shapiro and Peterson.
It just didnt feel like one.
they just show each other some respect
like you're suppose to lol
I mean, I guess...
you know
Then again, Ive had low standards for what makes a debate. Most Ive seen usually end up with either 2 people yelling at each other, or one talking to a brick wall.
those aren't what debates are suppose to be
lol
I think debate's the wrong word
Thats what they call debates these days
just what our political discourse has devolved into
When it comes to Peterson and Shapiro
or Peterson and Brett even
I think the term is Dialectic.
Like the recent Nick 'The Knife' Fuentes vs Mike Tokes the other night? That was hard to watch.
Not everyone Rubin invites on is nice to listen to
Oh, I was talking about a Baked Alaska IBS stream.
I generally don't listen to Baked.
I don't either, but I showed up for the 'debate', if you could call it that.
I believe the term is 'Dumpsterfire'?
Tokes continually resorted to putting words in Fuentes' mouth and taking him out of context, rather than bringing forth arguments of his own.
No joke, he legit even brought up the 'what is white, even?' argument. lol
I mean... I DO understand the 'what is white' arguement thingy, I get what they're going at with it, it's just worded poorly.
man
Like "white is subjective, so lets come up with a fixed definition"?
IBS is getting tedious
it's people warping the definitions of word over and over again
IBS?
It was entertaining, but the issue is it needs to go somewhere.
Irritable Bowel Syndrome.
I'm cool with what's been happening on the kumite
but the warski and ba streams have been filled with tedious shit lately
Yeah, the Kumite is pretty chill, and Metikur is always a party whenever he shows up.
I want the money badger thing to go deeper
I don't want pseudo intellectuals
I mean, does Tonka usually step in when people start redefining words?
I think so?
people usually don't go that far
I'm sure someone at some point has.
it's usually just a dumpster fire or self deprecating humor
I don't watch Tonka, and I occasionally watch Warski live
I only sometimes watch the entire Kumite. I usually just watch what Kronos/American Pride have cut out of it since they're typically at least 3 hours long.
JF annoys the shit out of me most of the time
and BTW, I really don't know what IBS stands for with Baked Alaska
internet blood sports
lol
Ah.
So basically the same thing I said.
eyyyyyyyyyyyyyyup
I like Tonka, he's cool. I even admit to having a bit of a bias towards him since I used to watch WWE, so it's cool to see him involved in this kind of stuff.
Wait, was Tonka actually involved in WWE?
that's the story but I never looked into the background
I don't know to what degree, but he's either the son or or related in some way to someone from the WWE.
I honestly hated the wwe
I don't understand why people liked it
