Like, personally Iโ€™m willing to entertain the notion that people want to differentiate between biological sex & gender. Sex is what your born with, gender is the roles society tends to impart on a person sure. You wanna change your role in society, by all means go for it, I donโ€™t give a shit. You canโ€™t change your biology. I also refuse to buy into this bajillion different genders crap. You wanna define gender as the roles & norms imparted onto you by society, fine, but if youโ€™re gunna do that you get 3 genders maximum. Male, which historically means the provider role & norms. Female, historically meaning home caregiver role & norms. Enlightened, basically forgo traditional world view for spiritual enlightenment. The 3rd gender basically died when abrahamic religions took over because theyโ€™re all patriarchal.

2018-03-24 14:04:28 UTC

You wanna take on a different gender role than the sex you were born into, be my guest, this is a free society

2018-03-24 14:05:15 UTC

Technology has advanced far enough that you donโ€™t have to take on your traditional role

2018-03-24 14:05:25 UTC

Rejoice

2018-03-24 14:07:54 UTC

The problem I have with this tumblr gender bullshit is that these people donโ€™t seem to understand wtf a gender is

2018-03-24 14:08:04 UTC

They just want one that sounds special & fancy

2018-03-24 14:08:32 UTC

thats what i said earlier, they want something unique to define them because they don't have anything unique about them

2018-03-24 14:10:53 UTC

also gender arguably has no meaning at all

It just nudges that a person tends to prefer the traits of said biological sex

If theres only 2 biological sexes there can only be 2 genders since the term is used to say "you resemble masculine traits mostly or feminine traits"

2018-03-24 14:13:43 UTC

tumblr people see gender as the emotional state of mind nowadays

Where some kind of "Stronggender" implies they feel confident

And "Pouty-kin gendered" means they're feeling depressed or something

2018-03-24 14:14:38 UTC

The reason I go 3 is historically there are those who forgo all masculine & feminine traits, as well as most of their earthly ties to try and attain spiritual enlightenment. In western & Islamic civilization we have specific ways to attain this enlightenment for each gender (Christianity has the priesthood for men, & the nunnery for women), but in many eastern & Native American cultures they didnโ€™t

2018-03-24 14:14:55 UTC

Biological men & women took the same path to enlightenment

2018-03-24 14:16:30 UTC

but its still based on the 2 sexes

Men -> Strong, confident, protective, robust, resilient
Women -> agreeable, nurturing, caring, warm

2018-03-24 14:17:10 UTC

Itโ€™s only based on the sexes in western culture

2018-03-24 14:17:42 UTC

In eastern culture the only way you could really tell what sex an enlightened was, was by physically checking their genitalia

2018-03-24 14:18:12 UTC

i think thats because non-western culture rejects gender as a concept ๐Ÿ˜› If you're a man but think you're a woman in Middle east you get thrown off of a roof
In east-asia you have to end your life to bring honor
In Africa you get eaten

2018-03-24 14:19:03 UTC

Thatโ€™s because most of the peaceful cultures of old that had these beliefs have been genocided

2018-03-24 14:22:27 UTC

but i still find myself in disagreement towards this

Gender is simply a generalisation of "In a large group of men, most will exhibit these traits" same with wamen

And this is still defined in any culture
In the middle east, Men are considered the stronger ones because in their nature they are supposed to be the strong alpha ones in general

In China you had the one child policy where the people prefered to have boys because they were more advantageous for a family to have because men in general can carry more weight

2018-03-24 14:23:01 UTC

One of my favorite societies & cultures to ever exist was the Iroquois League that inhabited precolonial New York & Pennsylvania. Sadly theyโ€™re basically extinct today because, the right of Conquest is a thing

2018-03-24 14:23:55 UTC

Despite what Hollywood movies like Avatar may show us, Gun > Stick

2018-03-24 14:24:35 UTC

but if yuo break stick

2018-03-24 14:24:39 UTC

then you have two stick

2018-03-24 14:24:43 UTC

stick win every time

2018-03-24 14:26:31 UTC

I mean, yes, in modern eastern culture the 3rd gender is basically dead

2018-03-24 14:27:02 UTC

The 3rd gender basically died universally when abrahamic religion took over the world

2018-03-24 14:27:28 UTC

Because abrahamic religions are patriarchal in nature

2018-03-24 14:28:22 UTC

but im saying there can't be a 3rd gender because genders are derived from the traits found in the biological sexes

2018-03-24 14:28:34 UTC

for a 3rd gender to exist you need a 3rd sex

2018-03-24 14:29:03 UTC

Iโ€™m saying the 3rd is derived from the null

2018-03-24 14:29:53 UTC

You canโ€™t magically become null.

2018-03-24 14:30:04 UTC

and how is that defined? cuz it sounds like the "agender" bull that tumblrists preach

2018-03-24 14:30:28 UTC

Basically.

2018-03-24 14:30:30 UTC

If the number of sexes is n the number of genders is n + 1. One for each sex, and one for the people who basically abandon all earthly ties

2018-03-24 14:31:00 UTC

The difference is tumblrโ€™s idea of agender is โ€œI donโ€™t like male or female so I pick neitherโ€

2018-03-24 14:31:13 UTC

not acting on your impulses is not creating a different gender

2018-03-24 14:31:37 UTC

these "enlightened" people still had the same general traits associated with their sex, they just chose not to act on it

2018-03-24 14:31:46 UTC

like celebate people in churches

2018-03-24 14:31:59 UTC

Which is quite different from โ€œI wonder the earth in search of enlightenment while abandoning the desires of the fleshโ€

2018-03-24 14:32:12 UTC

Itโ€™s called asexual. Itโ€™s not a new gender.

2018-03-24 14:33:22 UTC

And if you believe in a spiritual third gender then you have no argument against all the genders SJWs have made up.

2018-03-24 14:33:56 UTC

Thereโ€™s a difference between being asexual, and living without material possessions, any major bonds with other people, and surviving off the bare minimum

2018-03-24 14:34:12 UTC

being a minimalist doesn't make you a 3rd gender though

2018-03-24 14:34:35 UTC

its like those vulcans from star trek

2018-03-24 14:34:42 UTC

they still had emotion, they just suppressed it

2018-03-24 14:35:15 UTC

a celebate minimalist is still part of their original gender, they just suppress the impulses and urgest commonly associated with said sex/gender

2018-03-24 14:35:22 UTC

Vulcans also lived among themselves in a society and fit into 2 distinct roles

2018-03-24 14:35:58 UTC

And are also completely fictional

2018-03-24 14:36:07 UTC

as are 3rd genders

2018-03-24 14:39:17 UTC

Again, it would depend on how you defined gender. If you defined it based on societal roles and norms, the 3rd option has existed historically in ancient civilization. Thatโ€™s what I base the difference on. There are no societal norms associated with any of the genders Tumblrโ€™s created. Theyโ€™re made up names. In many ancient civilizations people who chose the path of enlightenment had different societal expectations and traits attributed to them than Men & Women did

2018-03-24 14:39:49 UTC

gender isn't based on social norms, its based on traits from biological sex

2018-03-24 14:40:00 UTC

And okay

2018-03-24 14:40:09 UTC

lets assume theres a gender from rejecting both urges

2018-03-24 14:40:18 UTC

then there must also be one to embrace both

2018-03-24 14:40:21 UTC

its polar opposite

2018-03-24 14:40:24 UTC

so Omnigendered

2018-03-24 14:40:51 UTC

and if you have taht, why not a Hexamale-Quadrofem gender where you're 60% male and 40% female?

2018-03-24 14:41:07 UTC

Except itโ€™s fundamentally impossible to take on both the traditional roles of men & women in any given society

2018-03-24 14:41:24 UTC

yes there is actually, its called the nanystate

2018-03-24 14:41:29 UTC

where you both provide and nurture the people ๐Ÿ˜›

2018-03-24 14:41:31 UTC

Why do you think single parent households are universally worse than 2 parent ones

2018-03-24 14:41:48 UTC

Because a single person canโ€™t possibly fill both roles at once

2018-03-24 14:42:13 UTC

they can actually, those households are usually worse because the parents DON'T fill both roles, and don't have the time to either

2018-03-24 14:42:16 UTC

Work at home dads are a thing.

2018-03-24 14:42:28 UTC

Can work and watch the kids.

2018-03-24 14:43:09 UTC

raisign a child is a full time job, so either be a parent 100% and have no work/other stuff to do

or divide it taht one works and is a parent 50%, and the other cleans/etc and parents 50%

2018-03-24 14:43:32 UTC

The nannystate would mean the person working has taken on the traditional male role, and the nanny has taken on the traditional female role.

2018-03-24 14:43:48 UTC

yes and a nannystate fulfills both

2018-03-24 14:44:00 UTC

its a strongarm taht provides, and nurtures

2018-03-24 14:44:27 UTC

Yes but the single parent isnโ€™t fulfilling both roles, someone else is filling the female role, they just happen to pay that person instead of marry them

2018-03-24 14:44:54 UTC

its still the same influence

2018-03-24 14:45:03 UTC

but if we go back, you said you base gender on social views

2018-03-24 14:45:22 UTC

and that means you consider gender a social construct, like those people that think gender is a spectrum

2018-03-24 14:45:27 UTC

Whoโ€™s raising & nurturing the child, the working parent or the nanny?

2018-03-24 14:45:50 UTC

as i said, if a parent doesn't need to work and clean, they can literally be both

2018-03-24 14:46:21 UTC

So someone else is taking over the traditional roles of the female

2018-03-24 14:46:27 UTC

the issue is a lack of time

Hence parenting works best as a couple, one works to provide, and the other settles the home front, and you both divide the child-time

2018-03-24 14:46:47 UTC

no, i said that a 100% parent can do both

2018-03-24 14:46:51 UTC

cleaning isn't a traditional female role

2018-03-24 14:47:22 UTC

It may not be anymore, but it sure as hell was 60 years ago

2018-03-24 14:47:29 UTC

also wrong

2018-03-24 14:47:38 UTC

its nurturing that is the female role

2018-03-24 14:47:49 UTC

and yes, living in a clean household is better

2018-03-24 14:47:52 UTC

hence we do it

2018-03-24 14:48:19 UTC

and the reason it was the female job 60 years ago

2018-03-24 14:48:25 UTC

is because the men would be working all day

2018-03-24 14:48:40 UTC

so they'd either have to clean after

Or the woman does it whilst the man works for provisions

2018-03-24 14:49:08 UTC

The traditional American female role as always been the homekeeper. This was everything from child raising, to household chores such as laundry, cooking, & cleaning

2018-03-24 14:49:32 UTC

for the reasons i said above

2018-03-24 14:49:35 UTC

Being a home keeper was a full time job before modern technology

2018-03-24 14:49:44 UTC

waht if you're a millionaire, or a lord?

The lady of the house didn't clean either

2018-03-24 14:49:48 UTC

Now work isnโ€™t always manual labour that requires you to be outside the house so men can also have more time to clean or raise kids.

2018-03-24 14:49:56 UTC

you'd have workers do it

2018-03-24 14:50:07 UTC

that didn't magically make the workers fulfil the female roles in those households

2018-03-24 14:50:44 UTC

a lords daughter didn't look at the maids and think "damn, thats my life soon"

2018-03-24 14:52:49 UTC

No, her life was focused solely on child raising because her husband would likely be someone who could pay for servants to do the tasks sheโ€™d normally be expect to take care of. This way she could dedicate herself 100% to the kids which would, in theory, mean the kids turned out superior

2018-03-24 14:53:17 UTC

exactly

that means that cleaning isn't the traditional female role as i've said

2018-03-24 14:53:59 UTC

Except it would be expected of her should she not be able to afford to pay someone else to do it

2018-03-24 14:54:09 UTC

the traditional female role is to entertain, to raise, to teach them to behave and be polite, manners

And the male role is to teach them to be a rock, to bear the brunt and to protect his own

2018-03-24 14:55:46 UTC

that expectation is placed by society

A good household is clean and well adjusted
If the man works, then its only fair the woman works too, and since she needs to be at home around the kid, she has to work at home, and since there was no major internet businesses etc, most work to do at home was clean/weave clothes and cook

2018-03-24 14:56:51 UTC

but that only proves my point that if a person doesn't have to do either, they can focus on the kid and be both a strong parental figure, and a nurturing one

2018-03-24 14:57:44 UTC

which would solidify that if theres a "null" gender there should also be its opposite "omni" gender
