If you want to have a social safety net, which I think most people do, then you need to have some basic means of restricting that social safety net to members of the society that pays into it. If only citizens are paying for it but the entire planet can claim it, then the social safety net collapses and nobody gets any help.

I don't really want to argue the particulars of social safety nets. I'm just saying that most members of our society want something to that effect, and that controlling access to it is a prerequisite for the functioning of such a system.

From what i understand,
regressives believe that if you don't wanna help less-fortunates, you must hate them, and since you dont know them, you're judging them beforehand (being pre judgemental -> prejudice)

And power means your status,
Since they believe white people hold all the power
