But source please. I haven't seen anything about post WW2 war crimes in Germany

2018-10-22 23:20:38 UTC

Who saved half of Germany from Russian rule again?

2018-10-22 23:20:48 UTC

If it's Soviets, then that doesn't change my mind cause Soviets are monsters

2018-10-22 23:23:11 UTC

(It was the Americans)

2018-10-22 23:32:21 UTC

Im on my phone right now.
But solviets rape germans and killed them after war.

But also US starved them. UN sent food for germans, but US denied it.

2018-10-22 23:33:04 UTC

Yeah soviets shmoviets. Embargos aren't rape.

2018-10-22 23:35:15 UTC

There was even statue made where soviet soldier rape germans.

2018-10-22 23:36:44 UTC

Nice. Like I said Soviets are evil. They were an enemy of an enemy

2018-10-23 02:32:55 UTC

I decided to adjust the influencer network report image to make it way more clear. Or rather, I made it reflect the author's actual intent:

2018-10-23 02:46:25 UTC

Shit exposed

2018-10-23 03:04:46 UTC

GOTEM

2018-10-23 06:52:04 UTC

Lol. I got stress from 2016. But it's not because of Trump.

2018-10-23 06:55:59 UTC

I got PTSD from winning too much. It all started November 2016.

2018-10-23 08:27:05 UTC

the S in PTSD stands for Stress. Checkmates drumptards

2018-10-23 08:36:38 UTC

stress is NOT PTSD

2018-10-23 08:36:50 UTC

I know that.

2018-10-23 08:39:12 UTC

on the other side, if i watched CNN and Colbert every day, i'd develop PTSD too

2018-10-23 15:10:21 UTC

Hey guys, I'm a comedian. I'm here to make you laugh. We're all going to die and abortions are gonna be illegal. We'll literally be living in Handmaid's Tale within 3 years. Impeach drumpf.

2018-10-23 15:11:03 UTC

*accepts award for best comedian*

2018-10-23 18:14:16 UTC

Colbert is funny.

2018-10-23 18:15:12 UTC

I remember the whole #CancelColbert because of racismsss.

2018-10-23 21:08:05 UTC

ECHO CHAMBERS GOOD

2018-10-23 21:08:21 UTC

TALKING WITH PEOPLE WHO ARE ***FUCKING NAZIS*** BAD

2018-10-23 21:14:55 UTC

Nobody wants to grind self awareness xp anymore

2018-10-23 21:37:36 UTC

Speaking of fake news.

2018-10-23 21:37:43 UTC

Who is this lovely character.

2018-10-23 21:37:49 UTC

I love it.

2018-10-23 21:37:53 UTC

Absolutely love it.

2018-10-23 21:44:17 UTC

isn't that the guy who was behind the Steven Universe edits tumblr?

2018-10-23 21:48:09 UTC

Please do not click Vox links. Let them starve. If you have to read their clickbait garbage, please use archive.is:
<http://archive.is/9cX1P>

2018-10-23 22:04:32 UTC

"I want people to hear the opposing side to see if it creates an opportunity for dialogue, how could I achieve this"
Should I:
Subject them to a bot that does nothing but re-tweet their opposition's talking points over and over again
Have them actually talk to a human

2018-10-23 22:05:26 UTC

Thankfully I chose the bot and now we can see that talking to people who have different views radicalizes republicans

2018-10-23 22:07:14 UTC

โ€œIs Twitter capable of providing the context where people can deliver the intimate, interpersonal, positive contact needed for this?โ€ He asked. The question answers itself.

2018-10-23 22:09:25 UTC

The study did not test for this. They tried one method and it failed. But it is vox, and vox will spin it hard left.

2018-10-23 22:11:10 UTC

Heres a more accurate statement: "Did repeatedly exposing people to the talking points of the other side make them more moderate?" The answer is no.

I swear I read an article once about Vox or Slate or Huffpo demonizing archive links specifically for the reason you mentioned

2018-10-23 23:15:05 UTC

Vox NPCs?

2018-10-24 00:58:12 UTC

@Cัณฯ‚mัณะธฮฑั†t i wouldnt exactly blame them on that

sure

2018-10-24 01:02:05 UTC

so far as that Vox article, i do think it has some sort of merit

2018-10-24 01:02:44 UTC

even in chats like this i don't see a lot of people changing minds, i usually only see a little bit of development over internet when people VC as there is something disarming about actually seeing, or talking to another person

2018-10-24 01:03:37 UTC

short form 300 character tweets only gives enough room to re enforce baises most of the time, there isn't a lot of room for sympathizing with someone, its very fight-club ish

2018-10-24 01:44:03 UTC

It was 140 before

2018-10-24 01:45:25 UTC

I go to vox for their milder stuff like the border series, really enjoyed their presentation of Hong Kong where I came from

2018-10-24 01:45:47 UTC

Just skip the ezra Klein stuff

2018-10-24 01:53:21 UTC

i'd totally agree with wanting people to engage eachother rather then living in a echo chamber, just from past experience on long running (5 years or so now) even in paragraphs usually people don't start seeing eachothers side until like a 30 minutes or a hour into it, and in some cases flat at won't reach any grounds unless they VC. Twitter is like the opposite of that, funny enough so is 4chan but 4chan knows its full of shit and is just there for enjoyment 99% of the time not anything serious like what Twitter pretends it is

2018-10-24 01:55:29 UTC

I mean, yes, dialogue is an important part of any society, especially one with democratic elements, but ultimately a disagreement might just boil down to irreconcilable axioms, and people can't agree.

2018-10-24 01:55:45 UTC

At that point, the only real solution is tolerance or destruction.

2018-10-24 02:29:22 UTC

Some differences cant be reconciled, that's why we come up with games like election. I call it a game because.... that's really what it is.

2018-10-24 20:53:35 UTC

What does the text on bottom mean?

2018-10-24 20:56:17 UTC

Oh rip

2018-10-24 21:04:46 UTC

some people are claiming that the cnn image was a 4chan fake

2018-10-24 21:05:04 UTC

seems doubtful to me

2018-10-24 21:14:27 UTC

Jim Acosta (@Acosta) Tweeted:
Photos of the bomb and package sent to CNN https://t.co/nBq3ArtChJ https://twitter.com/Acosta/status/1055147149158219778?s=17

2018-10-24 21:15:49 UTC

... why is he taking a picture of it casual-like?

2018-10-24 21:18:08 UTC

he's either a moron or believes it is not real

2018-10-24 21:23:33 UTC

how do you take a picture un-casually

2018-10-24 21:25:23 UTC

so all "bombs" were casually found and none exploded ? what are they - professional bomb handlers or just lucky ? this is weird...

2018-10-24 21:25:30 UTC

some pictures have professional intent, this one it's like he walked by and snapped a pic

2018-10-24 21:26:06 UTC

/pol/ is turning this pic into a meme. it's great.

2018-10-24 21:28:02 UTC
2018-10-24 21:38:36 UTC

rip

2018-10-24 21:38:39 UTC

even though ISIS was never involved they'll still get involved somehow

2018-10-24 21:38:46 UTC

maybe

2018-10-24 21:38:57 UTC

are they even still active

2018-10-24 21:39:45 UTC

in libya and a small section of land that has no strategic value in syria's eastern border

2018-10-24 21:40:06 UTC

wasn't an isis flag

2018-10-24 21:42:35 UTC

so larry the cable guy was behind this

2018-10-24 22:41:15 UTC

fucking based trump.

2018-10-24 23:42:22 UTC

it doesn't look like either flag to me the center of the sticker seems off like it was placed on top of the the original sticker or the pic was doctored with photoshop or something

2018-10-25 01:07:36 UTC

So these things were intercepted before leaving the original receiving post office?

2018-10-25 01:08:00 UTC

now it turns out the clocks on the bombs don't even have an alarm function

2018-10-25 01:09:06 UTC

I can understand the stamps not being voided if they got intercepted during the receiving process. Unless I'm mistaken how that process works.

2018-10-25 01:09:29 UTC

If that IS the case... We're they all intercepted in NY?

2018-10-25 01:09:37 UTC

the CNN one made it to their office as far as I'm aware

2018-10-25 01:09:43 UTC

In which case the likelihood of it being a Democrat goes up.

2018-10-25 01:09:51 UTC

See now I'm highly suspicious

2018-10-25 01:10:02 UTC

Those stamps should have been voided out after being used

2018-10-25 01:10:45 UTC

In addition, it's not well done. I am used to the right wing of politics typically producing bombs and shit that works

2018-10-25 01:21:29 UTC

Is there any explosive material in them even?

2018-10-25 01:22:39 UTC

Does tim think this is some Democrat or is he unwilling to say?

2018-10-25 01:23:39 UTC

As an actual good Journalist, he can't jump to such conclusions.

2018-10-25 01:23:58 UTC

Good man

2018-10-25 01:50:43 UTC

Interesting. Is there a confirmed source on this or is it just 4chan being 4chan.

2018-10-25 01:53:08 UTC

I have to assume things were malicious and probably the right targeting the left. But I have to admit, building a bomb is so easy I have a hard time understanding how whomever did this failed to get even one to go off. Clearly wasn't tested or something.

2018-10-25 01:56:00 UTC

I think it was just to stir up drama.

2018-10-25 01:56:08 UTC

Or to intimidate.

2018-10-25 01:56:18 UTC

Might be for victim points.

2018-10-25 01:56:19 UTC

I could see that.

2018-10-25 01:56:33 UTC

It seems odd for it to be for victim points.

2018-10-25 01:56:39 UTC

I'd need some evidence of that.

2018-10-25 01:56:42 UTC

The fact that the Selective Service disclosed that - why?

2018-10-25 01:56:46 UTC

Is that normal procedure?

2018-10-25 01:56:51 UTC

But stranger things have happend.

2018-10-25 01:56:52 UTC

How did the media evern get wind of it?

2018-10-25 01:56:53 UTC

Disclose what?

2018-10-25 01:57:27 UTC

According to the Secret Service Report, there are thousands of cases related to security, substances, or weapns every year.

2018-10-25 01:57:39 UTC

disclose that they had found these bombs

2018-10-25 01:57:47 UTC

Is it normal that they would announce it to the press?

2018-10-25 01:58:07 UTC

I'm not sure they had a choice.

2018-10-25 01:58:31 UTC

The local news probably listens to the bomb squad and when it shows up for a prominent official or activist.

2018-10-25 01:58:36 UTC

I would rather think they did

2018-10-25 01:58:38 UTC

There's not much you can do to hide.

2018-10-25 01:58:49 UTC

you can clearly see the wires do not connect to anything. there is no power source.

2018-10-25 01:58:50 UTC

What do you mean? They were the ones who found it.

2018-10-25 01:58:58 UTC

Nothing requires them to disclose this to the press.

2018-10-25 01:59:18 UTC

Why did they even disclose it before they knew what it was?

2018-10-25 01:59:27 UTC

This stinks to high heavens.

2018-10-25 01:59:33 UTC

They hyped it for the elections.

2018-10-25 01:59:34 UTC

Now that would be suspicious. Do you have statements with time stamps?

2018-10-25 01:59:52 UTC

But the press would notice the bomb squad heading off and would be more than interested.

2018-10-25 02:00:08 UTC

Don't forget we also found out about the ricin sent off recently.

2018-10-25 02:00:25 UTC

I'm not arguing that they see this stuff all the time.

2018-10-25 02:00:28 UTC

The number of incidents that the Selective Service deals with are actually pretty numerous.

2018-10-25 02:00:40 UTC

I'm saying they probably didn't have the ability to not say something.

2018-10-25 02:00:43 UTC

I don't know how often they receive fake bombs, but I would like to have stats on that.

2018-10-25 02:01:00 UTC

If this is something that happens once per month, it's theater for the elections.

2018-10-25 02:01:26 UTC

Also, these bombs are so primitive, I wonder if the Secret Service would have immediately realized they are fake.

2018-10-25 02:01:42 UTC

The bomb squad is going to always assume the things are live.

2018-10-25 02:01:48 UTC

I am pretty sure they have the ability to not take it to the press.

2018-10-25 02:01:59 UTC

Just being filled with black powder is dangerous enough.

2018-10-25 02:02:02 UTC

They have tens of thousands of security related incidents each year.

2018-10-25 02:02:04 UTC

i don't know man

2018-10-25 02:02:13 UTC

IF they disclosed each one, they would have enough to fill their own newspaper

2018-10-25 02:02:18 UTC

if they think a device is a real danger they typically blow it in place

2018-10-25 02:02:33 UTC

or get a robot to transport it where it can be safely detonated.

2018-10-25 02:02:44 UTC

^

2018-10-25 02:02:46 UTC

i've never seen EOD defuse something

2018-10-25 02:02:51 UTC

they always blow it

2018-10-25 02:02:53 UTC

I'm more surprised they got good X-rays.

2018-10-25 02:03:01 UTC

And yeah, @Atkins this is very odd.

2018-10-25 02:03:07 UTC

Anyway. I get the feeling as if this election hype.

2018-10-25 02:03:18 UTC

To at least 70%.

2018-10-25 02:03:20 UTC

Whomever built this didn't do a good job.

2018-10-25 02:03:30 UTC

oh yeah, terrible job

2018-10-25 02:03:34 UTC

Whoever built this wasn't even trying.

2018-10-25 02:03:41 UTC

Was there even any explosive material?

2018-10-25 02:03:41 UTC

they should at the very least have used steel instead of PVC

2018-10-25 02:03:49 UTC

We will never hear about the followup.

2018-10-25 02:03:57 UTC

What's with the detonator wires looping back over to each other?

2018-10-25 02:04:08 UTC

That's just weird.

2018-10-25 02:04:09 UTC

it's not a detonator

2018-10-25 02:04:13 UTC

it's a solenoid

2018-10-25 02:04:14 UTC

That is their strategy these days: Make a big deal about breaking a story and then cut it off if the story doesn't fit your narrative anymore.

2018-10-25 02:04:20 UTC

They have been doing this like clockwork.

2018-10-25 02:04:29 UTC

OK. Solenoid that's supposed to act as a detonator.

2018-10-25 02:04:45 UTC

@Undead Mockingbird that's been the strategy since I was born.

2018-10-25 02:04:55 UTC

They've only been getting more brazen with it.

2018-10-25 02:04:57 UTC

They splashed the story all over because it supports the narrative:

Orange man bad!
Whammen and Democrats in danger!
We good! Vote us!

2018-10-25 02:05:02 UTC

detonators are extremely uniform

2018-10-25 02:05:19 UTC

I have to admit, I'm not super experienced in professional explosives.

2018-10-25 02:05:35 UTC

Then, when sobriety sets in and the initial emotional shock value wears off, the story suddenly rotates out of the news cycle.

2018-10-25 02:05:41 UTC

But this thing is just...I don't know. It's not how I'd build it.

2018-10-25 02:05:52 UTC

*IF* there was a large battery attached to this, it could conceivably be a fire hazard

2018-10-25 02:05:58 UTC

but that is not going to explode as is.

2018-10-25 02:06:03 UTC

Like, I'm the kind that would probably use a solenoid

2018-10-25 02:06:07 UTC

Especially if no white man can be found wearing a MAGA hat and playing video games, the story is killed at that point.

2018-10-25 02:06:20 UTC

But this thing just isn't going to be very effective.

2018-10-25 02:06:27 UTC

Like, PVC? No nails?

2018-10-25 02:06:46 UTC

The Unabomber lived in the woods and never studied anything practical and did better than this.

2018-10-25 02:06:57 UTC

The same shit they do whenever a black man gets shot:

HE A GOOD BOY!
HE DINDU NUFFIN!

> Facebook posts and prior criminal convictions emerge.

SHUT IT DOWN!

2018-10-25 02:07:12 UTC

It's all the same MO. The same tired shit.

2018-10-25 02:07:30 UTC

Again, I'm not going to just buy into the false flag narrative without some proof. But I agree @Atkins this thing's...just not right somehow.

2018-10-25 02:07:52 UTC

A story gets reported only so long as it fits the narrative and has enough emotional impact.

2018-10-25 02:08:06 UTC

Do you remember Bush?

2018-10-25 02:08:16 UTC

Yes, same MO.

2018-10-25 02:08:28 UTC

Yeah, this has been going on for decades.

2018-10-25 02:08:31 UTC

ANd I never said it's exclusive to any side.

2018-10-25 02:08:34 UTC

This is propaganda.

2018-10-25 02:08:48 UTC

Funny story. Most news through American history was propaganda.

2018-10-25 02:09:05 UTC

That's why there are still small town papers with "democrat" or "republican" in the name.

2018-10-25 02:09:15 UTC

Yes. There were few wars in American history that the media didn't play an important role in stoking.

2018-10-25 02:09:23 UTC

More than that.

2018-10-25 02:09:25 UTC

But yes.

2018-10-25 02:11:37 UTC

I can't completely prove or even articulate it, either, but something really, really irks me about this story.

2018-10-25 02:12:20 UTC

Besides, nobody uses regular mail anymore. Nowadays, I would have sent bombs by e-mail.

2018-10-25 02:12:49 UTC

I'm pretty sure the FBI will determine the nature of the devices by tomorrow, assuming they haven't already.

2018-10-25 02:12:56 UTC

Whether they release that information is uncertain.

2018-10-25 02:13:24 UTC

They might not want to tell the bomber that they know the bombs are fake, for fear that he'll start making real ones.

2018-10-25 02:13:47 UTC

Yes, they probably will. And then one of two things will happen:

1.) They turn out to be complete BS, and the story will be memory holed.
2.) They are actual IEDs in which case we will be hearing about the "right's violent rhetoric" until the election.

2018-10-25 02:14:03 UTC

They are not actual IEDs. There's no power source.

2018-10-25 02:14:34 UTC

Okay, then it's going to be memory holed. That, or they will start talking about "intimidation".

2018-10-25 02:14:41 UTC

What Atkins said.

2018-10-25 02:14:59 UTC

You can build better bombs with 10 minutes of searching Google or a trip to the library.

2018-10-25 02:15:13 UTC

Then, the democrats will predictable take the podium and talk about how brave they are and how they will stand up to political intimidation (while, at the same time completely disregarding that they are the ones who started it).

2018-10-25 02:15:20 UTC

Heck, the bombs in the Anarchist Cookbook are better than these. And the guy who wrote that was making up half of it.

2018-10-25 02:15:41 UTC

But you are right about one thing. The perception is what matters.

2018-10-25 02:15:48 UTC

And that perception will be manipulated.

`An IED has five components: a switch (activator), an initiator (fuse), container (body), charge (explosive), and a power source (battery).`

2018-10-25 02:16:09 UTC

scratch that less than a minute. Wikipedia tells you how to do it better.

2018-10-25 02:16:14 UTC

Well, I am not going to try and show off bomb making skills on Discord.

2018-10-25 02:16:19 UTC

The power source is completely absent, and from what I know the initiator is fake.

2018-10-25 02:16:25 UTC

I do'nt want to shell out shekels for a lawyer again.

2018-10-25 02:16:39 UTC

It's not a blasting cap and it's not a military detonator.

2018-10-25 02:16:49 UTC

I'm going to have to disagree there.

2018-10-25 02:17:05 UTC

Not everyone would have access to that kind of thing and they might have intended to just spark it somehow.

2018-10-25 02:18:10 UTC

no

2018-10-25 02:18:16 UTC

they would have at least tried it out

2018-10-25 02:18:20 UTC

That doesn't work for high explosive, and to create a spark for low order explosive (like black powder) you need significant voltage.

2018-10-25 02:18:26 UTC

And there's no source for that.

2018-10-25 02:18:28 UTC

and if it's so bad that it would have never gone off, they didn't intend to

2018-10-25 02:18:37 UTC

because then their tests would have shown that it cannot ever work like that

2018-10-25 02:18:38 UTC

Yeah, the lack of a good source is the odd part.

2018-10-25 02:18:45 UTC

Like you can take C4 and light it with a lighter. It'll smoulder.

2018-10-25 02:18:50 UTC

Clearly didn't know what they were doing and clearly never tested it.

2018-10-25 02:18:52 UTC

Making honest mistakes is one thing, not really caring about it exploding another.

2018-10-25 02:19:03 UTC

Do we know the choice of explosive?

2018-10-25 02:19:08 UTC

I don't think so.

2018-10-25 02:19:14 UTC

Probably play doh

2018-10-25 02:19:22 UTC

the x-ray shows some sort of lumpy filling.

2018-10-25 02:19:31 UTC

I'll pretend it's just weed

2018-10-25 02:19:54 UTC

I would guess they took material from fireworks.

2018-10-25 02:20:03 UTC

Even black powder would be uniform.

2018-10-25 02:20:05 UTC

So black powder.

2018-10-25 02:20:16 UTC

Poorly packed and not raw.

2018-10-25 02:21:10 UTC
2018-10-25 02:22:19 UTC

Yeah, fireworks black powder. They didn't buy the can from the store, they pillaged it out of something else and didn't bother crushing it completely.

2018-10-25 02:22:27 UTC

I think the explosive devices are a false flag attack by someone who wants to attack the alt right strawman. The reason I think that way is the targets ea none are actually running for a political position and second is the timing before an election.

2018-10-25 02:23:28 UTC

It would be interesting to know method of delivery but right now I just think it is one person.

2018-10-25 02:36:47 UTC

@BrotherChaos The delivery is what has me most confused.

2018-10-25 02:36:57 UTC

The word is that the majority were hand-delivered.

2018-10-25 02:37:37 UTC

But now you're talking about one person visiting that many places that fast? Maybe. I don't know all the distances and times involved, but it seems strange to me. Moreso that it wouldn't arise increasing suspicion as it happened.

2018-10-25 02:37:46 UTC

It would have to be multiple people.

2018-10-25 02:37:55 UTC

Hand delivered makes this look like tumbler was larping as their opinion of /pol/

2018-10-25 02:38:06 UTC

I doubt Tumblr is that capable.

2018-10-25 02:38:15 UTC

kinda the point

2018-10-25 02:38:20 UTC

But there's lots of people who are.

2018-10-25 02:39:11 UTC

if soros wasn't included I would suggest it was a security check test.

2018-10-25 02:40:46 UTC

Find a picture of a package with a postmark

2018-10-25 02:41:37 UTC

the wording in the article above said it was left in the mailroom so they should have footage of at least one person

2018-10-25 02:43:53 UTC

I'll make a bet the soros and waters packages were mailed and the others were hand delivered because that would make it able to be done "reasonably" alone granted very little information. It would have been more interesting if they mailed the packages from cnn's mailroom.

2018-10-25 02:44:32 UTC

There's always the "multiple people" hypothesis.

2018-10-25 02:44:54 UTC

So the delivery isn't that insightful. But it that would imply it's not a lone nut.

2018-10-25 02:45:09 UTC

true. but I always lean to a single person doing a stupid thing rather than two stupid people doing a stupid thing.
