The FEC stuff isnโt going to go anywhere. Itโs rarely prosecuted, and it would result in a fine. Plus if they did purse it with Trump, they would have to hit Hillary with the same charge for paying for the Steele Dossier. Which was also undisclosed, and in a much higher amount of money.

Ah I wouldn't be so confident about that. Nothing will probably happen to Hilary because the media is on her side and will obfuscate, ignore, or outright lie in her defense. But the same is not true for Trump. They're already grasping for any and every reason to bring him down. If they see this as a way, you can trust them to do whatever they can to get it done.

okay... how it is roughly done in germany: the parties get their seats based on their voting percentage (you get 30% of the votes, you get 30% of the seats)
these seats get filled with the candidates that won their district
In Canada you get members of parliament per riding, so when you have the inevitable minority you have to barter with another party for a coalition
But I think the issue with the US is that the population is super unevenly distributed. Where like 4 cities would decide the course of the country if you did seats by % of votes
after that it gets filled up to roughly meet the initial percentage (really complicated math is used there, so i'm not going to try and explain it... but the end result is roughly 1% of votes equals 1% of seats)
