Can we kill social security yet?

2018-12-03 05:47:02 UTC

so about that Men Deman Consent Videos from Women because of MeToo:
this is my response,
this is how society collapses, I've never felt so glad to be a virgin with no sexual experience, holy fuck I can only imagine the hardship unlucky men will have to deal with in the future with this trend growing, Third and Fourth wave feminism has made dating a game of Russian Roulette considering how rigged and corrupt the system has become,
Rome 2.0 has come and it's only a matter of time before it all falls apart

2018-12-03 09:35:46 UTC

> Hitler was the most hated man in history

I dunno, Justin Bieber was a close second.

2018-12-03 11:54:30 UTC

Stalin and Mao deserved to be named before Hitler because they murdered a big part of their own population and even shot mothers and fathers looking for food for their children.

2018-12-03 12:43:43 UTC

They were marxists, not keynesians. Keynesian economic policies are what most countries in the world have right now. So, comparing them to Hitler is way more relevant.

2018-12-03 12:47:05 UTC

You don't have basically all mainstream economists pointing to communist countries as the best examples of how their policies should be implemented like they do with Nazi Germany.

2018-12-03 13:44:37 UTC

Communist killed Jews just like the Nazis

2018-12-03 13:46:12 UTC

You're forgetting Todd Howard @Phalynx

2018-12-03 15:55:06 UTC

@Grenade123 the argument on that end is that they weren't institutionally supported killings, unlike the Nazis. Still kinda falls flat when so many people got killed regardless

2018-12-03 15:57:35 UTC

Yeah, the intention was different but the result was the same: dead jews

2018-12-03 15:58:30 UTC

Depends on the communist. There was still anti-Semitism

2018-12-03 15:58:44 UTC

Well there's a difference between "people formed mobs and killed a man", and the government having him assassinated

2018-12-03 15:59:46 UTC

The argument by multiple sources, including iirc the writer of The Gulag Archipelago, is that it was mob violence and not Papa Stalin's grand plan

2018-12-03 15:59:53 UTC

If I recall correctly

2018-12-03 16:00:58 UTC

papa stalin

Papa Stalin is a big fan of post-term abortions for Mother Russia

2018-12-03 17:56:06 UTC

Boyo oh boyo, that's going to hurt them

2018-12-03 18:03:19 UTC

lol Yahoo stock is gonna drop

2018-12-03 18:04:43 UTC

Well, more like Alibaba

2018-12-03 18:14:12 UTC

You know reading that meme in <#398973785426100234> made me remember an idea I had been thinking about; this current wave of mass immigration is destroying natural diversity in countries

2018-12-03 18:15:29 UTC

For example in France you have the Celts in Brittany, the southern Occitan, and plenty of other subcultures. In Germany every state practically had a separate dialect

2018-12-03 18:16:06 UTC

In the United States we have almost every europeon ethnicity along with Japanese, Chinese, Indian, Filipino, etc.

2018-12-03 18:16:20 UTC

The third world is colonizing the colonizers. And the left is okay with that because white people are bad.

2018-12-03 18:16:50 UTC

But itโ€™s wave of mass migration is wiping out that diversity; instead of California being Asian, europeon, and Latin American itโ€™ll just be Latin American, and likely non English speaking to boot

2018-12-03 18:36:54 UTC

@H E C K I'm sorry you'd rather be seething in silent contempt, than flat out "insult" me ...

2018-12-03 18:37:22 UTC

@H E C K ..."uncivil"...

2018-12-03 18:37:52 UTC

Dude we've moved on. Shouldn't have waited two days to respond.

2018-12-03 18:38:04 UTC

@H E C K i have things to do

2018-12-03 18:39:55 UTC

@H E C K But ok, you called me "uncivil" from the beginning... So i call you uncivil, nigh on inhuman, for not being able to utter even a fucking honest insult, but yet you had no problem labeling me "uncivil" just because of my linguistics

2018-12-03 18:40:20 UTC

Stop being butthurt

In regards to tumblr. If only female nipples are banned, can you tag an image with what gender the nipple owner identifies as?

2018-12-03 19:04:47 UTC

I thought female was a sex not a gender

2018-12-03 19:08:04 UTC
2018-12-03 19:08:48 UTC

Iโ€™ve heard some people say that the conflict over the border could lead to war with Mexico; but from what Iโ€™ve heard it seems that the Mexicans donโ€™t like them as much as the Americans

2018-12-03 19:11:46 UTC

Those people are delusional from a political/planned point of view, but if a US government employee kills a mexican government employee things might get bad

2018-12-03 19:11:59 UTC

though I doubt it will happen, mexico seems to be staying far away from the US border

2018-12-03 19:13:23 UTC

Like the polar opposite of EU right now

2018-12-03 19:13:28 UTC

as they burn down Paris

2018-12-03 19:24:03 UTC

Yeah, it seems that a lot of people either don't like them or feel indifferent. I doubt a war with Mexico would happen under the current circumstances

2018-12-03 19:26:34 UTC

@Blackhawk342
_ I thought female was a sex not a gender_
my mistake. I was not in the correct mindset. In my native language, we donโ€™t have two different words, like sex and gender, we have one word, which incidentally is also the word for pretty.

2018-12-03 19:27:06 UTC

I live for the day when the US can go back to having sex and gender be interchangeable

2018-12-03 19:27:22 UTC

If they could just be the same word again wed be able to focus on actual issues

2018-12-03 19:28:28 UTC

When forms ask for your sex, people as a joke put in, Yes, as in โ€œyes! I am prettyโ€ ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

2018-12-03 19:29:05 UTC

lol

2018-12-03 19:29:27 UTC

Does that make yes a gender or pretty a gender, or are both now genders? <:TimThink:482277772497125378>

2018-12-03 19:29:48 UTC

Both are now genders, its only fair

2018-12-03 19:30:33 UTC

Well then I identify as pretty.

2018-12-03 20:06:35 UTC

Sex and gender used to mean the same thing in the US until the 70's when feminists started pushing the work of John Money. He's the guy who when David Reimer was given a botched circumcision resulting in the loss of his penis said they should remove his testicles and raise him as a girl. Because "gender is a social construct lol". Obviously that didn't work and David wanted to be a man. He later committed suicide.

2018-12-03 20:08:51 UTC

Also he was in favor of 'consensual' pedophilia.

"Consensual pedophilia" Is when the man promises pizza afterwards

2018-12-03 22:35:21 UTC

That's chuck e cheeses business model

I was never raped at chucke E cheese as a kid

2018-12-03 22:37:35 UTC

Wait that was just me?

But I did get my hand stuck under a machine while looking for coins

I had to lift the machine with my brother

2018-12-03 23:14:47 UTC

HM, I think I'm for Macron putting France under martial law.

2018-12-03 23:15:01 UTC

That means that shit really hits the fan and it is escalating.

2018-12-03 23:15:37 UTC

Question is: On wich side will the Enforcers be?
Will they side with the Protesters??

2018-12-03 23:19:28 UTC

We've already seen police remove their helmets in solidarity with the protesters, and firefighters turn their backs and walk out on their mayor.

2018-12-03 23:19:29 UTC

@๐Ÿฅž๐Ÿฅž๐Ÿฅž๐Ÿฅž๐Ÿฅž๐Ÿฅž Did you play the ticket games to get prizes? then you were definitely raped.

2018-12-03 23:20:06 UTC

>"Consensual pedophilia" Is when the man promises pizza afterwards
sounds like #PizzaGate to me

I played the games for the prizes

Honestly that's the most expensive shit I've ever seen

Chucke Cheeses needs to lower the prices fr

2018-12-03 23:26:58 UTC

That is the point

2018-12-03 23:27:34 UTC

Make extremely cheap prizes from tickets, make the ticket prices absurdly high..make you spend 40 dollars on something you could probably buy for 20

Not to mention most people wont even manage to get enough tickets

2018-12-03 23:45:35 UTC

Aka

2018-12-03 23:45:40 UTC

you got raped at Chuck E Cheese ๐Ÿ˜›

2018-12-03 23:45:48 UTC

#PizzaGate was right

I actually asked if some of the prizes were just props one time and the guy said he wasn't sure if it was a real working Xbox or not

Well it was like, 10 years ago so I may remember wrong

It was something about it being a shit prize

2018-12-04 03:34:36 UTC

Pretty sure I blew $200 on a lava lamp that was an arcade prize

2018-12-04 03:35:00 UTC

I also broke it not long after

2018-12-04 03:50:38 UTC

Somalia is an FGM State, dominated by Islam....

2018-12-04 07:57:26 UTC

change my mind

2018-12-04 11:39:19 UTC

I wish he wasn't a furry, because he actually has some good takes.

2018-12-04 13:35:07 UTC

@Yahweh Furries don't want to fuck animals they want to be animals.

2018-12-04 13:48:26 UTC

@Dennafen which would involve.... fucking other animals.

ikr

2018-12-04 18:46:26 UTC

better than riots

2018-12-04 20:01:49 UTC

Is there a single liberal in this whole place or is this just a giant echo chamber?

2018-12-04 20:02:50 UTC

Define liberal

2018-12-04 20:03:02 UTC

even left leaning

2018-12-04 20:03:27 UTC

I dont think there are many opinions other than the standard issue right

2018-12-04 20:03:39 UTC

which means debate here is largely pointless

2018-12-04 20:04:08 UTC

You're going to have to get into specifics instead of vague tribal designations and butchered political terms (the latter being exactly what Liberal is at this point)

2018-12-04 20:04:23 UTC

lets go with democrats

2018-12-04 20:04:28 UTC

are there any democrats here

2018-12-04 20:05:42 UTC

@DrYuriMom for sure. A lot of Europeans and Canadians in here though

2018-12-04 20:06:01 UTC

So it'd be hard for them to vote Dem

2018-12-04 20:06:54 UTC

I am a liberal. But in classical / european sense. That means low taxes, reduced welfare

2018-12-04 20:08:30 UTC

Also worth remembering that Tim refers to himself as "left libertarian"

2018-12-04 20:08:45 UTC

that would be me too lol

2018-12-04 20:09:19 UTC

If anything the discord trends toward center, with some spicy radical bois mixing things up every so often

2018-12-04 20:11:47 UTC

I'm an independent that generally votes Democrat but not because I really like them anymore

2018-12-04 20:12:19 UTC

I've voted Republican. Did so last month for governor.

2018-12-04 20:13:15 UTC

@Dugamar you mention that the โ€œone man, one voteโ€ system leads to two party system. I disagree. It is all about the number of seats in an electoral district. This is the norm in e.g. USA and UK. Where you can only elect one representative in each district. In my country each district elect 8 seats in parliament, still with โ€œone man, one voteโ€. This have resulted in a multitude of parties getting elected.

2018-12-04 20:15:27 UTC

So the top 8 vote getters in that district get elected?

2018-12-04 20:16:10 UTC

Yes

2018-12-04 20:16:35 UTC

How many districts are there?

2018-12-04 20:18:08 UTC

22 districts and the former colonies each send two representatives

2018-12-04 20:18:28 UTC

Greenland and Faeroe Islands

2018-12-04 20:25:55 UTC

I dunno that you could split the US like that

2018-12-04 20:26:04 UTC

@oprahsminge That's an oversimplification of what they want, technically we all fuck animals, as humans are just as much of an animal as a dog, a sheep, or a shark.

2018-12-04 20:26:45 UTC

And the alternative would be heavy government bloating

2018-12-04 20:27:05 UTC

I am becoming quite fond of a 1/2/3 vote

2018-12-04 20:27:33 UTC

Ranked voting?

2018-12-04 20:27:41 UTC

Yes

2018-12-04 20:28:13 UTC

Maybe, I just think we need to get rid of the federal government overrides.

2018-12-04 20:28:17 UTC

We have an issue here in BC where NDP and Liberals trade off dominance because voting for Cons/Greens/etc means that "the other side wins"

2018-12-04 20:29:00 UTC

So we'll get liberals making a dumb decision or 10 and then because nobody wants the NDP they'll get in the next 2 times as well. Once you hit fucks given spillover then the NDP gets a turn

2018-12-04 20:29:09 UTC

It's a really bad setup

2018-12-04 20:29:12 UTC

I think we'd get some DSA, and even some NSM members with that system though.

2018-12-04 20:29:18 UTC

ranked voting.

2018-12-04 20:30:06 UTC

Maybe. But is the honest solution to just shove that shit under the rug and pretend it isn't there?
Sunlight is the best disinfectant

2018-12-04 20:30:36 UTC

No the solution is to not give the government enough power that it matters.

2018-12-04 20:30:48 UTC

Oh I'd want that as well

2018-12-04 20:31:02 UTC

It's too late for that though.

2018-12-04 20:31:17 UTC

But to the extend that abusable power is necessarily within the purview of government, I'd like one that is a little more representative at the very least

2018-12-04 20:31:41 UTC

I am of the perception that gerrymandering would be a thing of the past if the US joined 10 electoral districts into 1 large district with ten seats.

2018-12-04 20:32:38 UTC

I'll worry about more representative government when we get our 4th and 5th amendment rights back.

2018-12-04 20:32:58 UTC

I'm not seeing how you keep regional representation intact, @4AM_critter ๐Ÿ‰

2018-12-04 20:33:34 UTC

@Dennafen bring back 2A proper while you're at it

2018-12-04 20:33:48 UTC

I'm okay with that too.

2018-12-04 20:34:17 UTC

Once you give the federal government power it's almost impossible to have them release it.

2018-12-04 20:34:30 UTC

I assume a region that would elect 1 seat would still manage to elect that seat. but they get help from other regions.

2018-12-04 20:35:04 UTC

I just think about California, where all those red areas are outnumbered by like 1 city

2018-12-04 20:35:45 UTC

that 1 city would no longer be able to rule over those red areas, since i think 4Am is suggesting more seats than before

2018-12-04 20:36:05 UTC

to allow more parties to get some power

2018-12-04 20:36:07 UTC

Right and how do you determine who gets those seats? Bulk votes, no?

2018-12-04 20:36:11 UTC

If we went by vote by county Trump's landslide would have been insane

2018-12-04 20:36:21 UTC

Senators shouldn't be voted on.

2018-12-04 20:36:27 UTC

That'd be nice.

2018-12-04 20:36:27 UTC

uhhhh

2018-12-04 20:36:33 UTC

why?

2018-12-04 20:36:44 UTC

They're not representatives of the people.

2018-12-04 20:36:54 UTC

They're representatives of the state.

2018-12-04 20:37:05 UTC

They're supposed to be reps of the states interests not the states.

2018-12-04 20:37:21 UTC

Kind of like the EU.

2018-12-04 20:37:21 UTC

By county CA went Trump, by county CT went Trump, by county NY went Trump

2018-12-04 20:37:43 UTC

i don't know about that

2018-12-04 20:38:01 UTC

What are the interests of the state?

2018-12-04 20:38:21 UTC

they are not strictly representatives of the state, they are representatives of the people in that state, but balanced against population.

2018-12-04 20:38:47 UTC

where as the house is a balance against the minority

2018-12-04 20:39:05 UTC

The interests of the states vs the interests of the people as a whole.

2018-12-04 20:39:36 UTC

Pick a state then

2018-12-04 20:39:48 UTC

Michigan.

2018-12-04 20:40:07 UTC

Denial? Thats a state right?

2018-12-04 20:40:13 UTC

lol

2018-12-04 20:40:51 UTC

Ok, isnt on of michigan's goals to continue to grow their population by attracting people from other states and responding to the needs of their own residents?

2018-12-04 20:41:11 UTC

I had to read up a bit. Imagine if each state have the current number of rep as today, but each state was one electoral super district. Example given; everyone in Alabama could vote for everyone there and the 7 candidates with the most votes go to Congress.
<https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alabama%27s_congressional_districts>

2018-12-04 20:41:43 UTC

@4AM_critter ๐Ÿ‰ who wins what seats?

2018-12-04 20:42:04 UTC

Sure, but does that mean that what the reps from detriot want are in the best interests of the state?

2018-12-04 20:42:15 UTC

They want what are best for their area

2018-12-04 20:42:24 UTC

Yes, their area, not the state.

2018-12-04 20:43:01 UTC

Right, which is why you have senators

2018-12-04 20:43:09 UTC

Who want whats best for their state as a whole

2018-12-04 20:43:10 UTC

The elctoral district have 7 seats, you are not locked to any particular geographical subset

2018-12-04 20:43:24 UTC
2018-12-04 20:43:25 UTC

Who should be appointed by the state legislature not popular election.

2018-12-04 20:43:29 UTC

Nope

2018-12-04 20:43:32 UTC

Yes.

2018-12-04 20:43:38 UTC

@4AM_critter ๐Ÿ‰ yes, but winner takes all?

2018-12-04 20:43:59 UTC

Because the people of the state need to have a say in who goes to congress

2018-12-04 20:44:10 UTC

They do, that's the representive.

2018-12-04 20:44:41 UTC

@Dennafen isn't stuff like this partly how the EU go into such a mess?

2018-12-04 20:44:47 UTC

NO. Grenade, imagine 20 persons running for office. The 7 candidates with the most votes get the seats.

2018-12-04 20:45:01 UTC

@4AM_critter ๐Ÿ‰ so everyone votes on all 7 seats, rather than 1.

2018-12-04 20:45:09 UTC

@Grenade123 Yes, because they don't have representatives.

2018-12-04 20:45:25 UTC

I dont want my represetnatives who cant even agree on a budget for my state to decide who gets to represent us in washington

2018-12-04 20:45:43 UTC

No, you have one vote, and you can only vote for one person.

2018-12-04 20:45:46 UTC

Because as you said, those locally elected representatives dont care whats best for other areas they only care about their own

2018-12-04 20:46:13 UTC

@4AM_critter ๐Ÿ‰ okay, all 20 get some percent of the vote. what now? take the top 7?

2018-12-04 20:46:16 UTC

Yes, but they have to pick one person for six years.

2018-12-04 20:46:34 UTC

Yes the top seven get he seats.

2018-12-04 20:46:52 UTC

what happens if less than 7 get votes.

2018-12-04 20:46:58 UTC

Which is why I dont want them to pick a person, because they dont care about the state as a whole, what they care about is their own re-election

2018-12-04 20:47:00 UTC

its only like 4 people @4AM_critter ๐Ÿ‰

2018-12-04 20:47:20 UTC

Then that senator is no longer beholden to the people, he becomes beholden to the state representatives which elected him

2018-12-04 20:47:37 UTC

They don't elect him.

2018-12-04 20:47:43 UTC

Appointed whaterver

2018-12-04 20:48:08 UTC

So we should vote on supreme court judges?

2018-12-04 20:48:50 UTC

Thats what the Senate is for

2018-12-04 20:49:02 UTC

....

2018-12-04 20:49:19 UTC

They're supposed to think about how people in the state will be affected by that judge

2018-12-04 20:49:25 UTC

No.

2018-12-04 20:49:38 UTC

They're supposed to think about how the state will be effected.

2018-12-04 20:49:39 UTC

No?

2018-12-04 20:50:14 UTC

Why would they think about how their state government will be affected?

2018-12-04 20:50:31 UTC

pretty sure they don't think about either

2018-12-04 20:50:40 UTC

Because that's what all of their job functions revolve around.

2018-12-04 20:50:57 UTC

they think about will this person make a good addition, and you vote for them in hopes that how they think about that judge will be reflected by you

2018-12-04 20:51:01 UTC

In the system which you describe yes

2018-12-04 20:51:05 UTC

In the current system no

2018-12-04 20:52:03 UTC

In the current system yes.

2018-12-04 20:52:08 UTC

Why do their jobs in the federal government revolve around state government?

2018-12-04 20:53:20 UTC

`Bills may be introduced in either chamber of Congress. However, the Constitution's Origination Clause provides that "All bills for raising Revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives".[53] As a result, the Senate does not have the power to initiate bills imposing taxes. Furthermore, the House of Representatives holds that the Senate does not have the power to originate appropriation bills, or bills authorizing the expenditure of federal funds.[54][55][56] Historically, the Senate has disputed the interpretation advocated by the House. However, when the Senate originates an appropriations bill, the House simply refuses to consider it, thereby settling the dispute in practice. The constitutional provision barring the Senate from introducing revenue bills is based on the practice of the British Parliament, in which only the House of Commons may originate such measures.[57]

Although the Constitution gave the House the power to initiate revenue bills, in practice the Senate is equal to the House in the respect of spending. As Woodrow Wilson wrote:

The Senate's right to amend general appropriation bills has been allowed the widest possible scope. The upper house may add to them what it pleases; may go altogether outside of their original provisions and tack to them entirely new features of legislation, altering not only the amounts but even the objects of expenditure, and making out of the materials sent them by the popular chamber measures of an almost totally new character.[58]

The approval of both houses is required for any bill, including a revenue bill, to become law. Both Houses must pass the same version of the bill; if there are differences, they may be resolved by sending amendments back and forth or by a conference committee, which includes members of both bodies.`

Their role is to make sure that the reps don't fuck shit up too much.

2018-12-04 20:55:49 UTC

In our system, any spill over votes a candidate gets goes to the hext candidate on the list. Each party put up at least as many candidates as there are seats up for election. That means that votes excessive votes and party votes get distributed to the next person on the list.
A classic example is one very popular candidate gets elected and takes 3-4 extra seats for his party.
Another classic example is a candidate at the bottom on the list blows past all the others and win a seat.

2018-12-04 20:56:41 UTC

Here we donโ€™t have primaries. The election and lust placement of candidates is an internal party matter

2018-12-04 20:56:56 UTC

so really only 1 person for that party gets elected, and the rest are just elected by the party if they get extra?

2018-12-04 20:57:42 UTC

Yes, but all candidates most be announced before the elction.

2018-12-04 20:58:19 UTC

like your preferred party has 1 guy you like. so you vote for him. And everyone else mostly voted for him. You voting for him can end up getting like 3 more people that no one voted for into office?

2018-12-04 20:58:44 UTC

Hence it matter what order your name is on the ballot.

2018-12-04 20:59:03 UTC

Yes in theory.

2018-12-04 21:00:37 UTC

Wouldn't everyone voting for all 7 seats be better? Assuming only 1 person per seat.

2018-12-04 21:00:49 UTC

A classic example would be the party PVV in the Netherlands, most people vote for that party for Gert Wilders, but the party have other representatives elected also.

2018-12-04 21:01:33 UTC

Correct me if i am wrong. @Dr.Wol

2018-12-04 21:01:46 UTC

i was summoned

2018-12-04 21:02:16 UTC

Then you get a two party system again. @Grenade123

2018-12-04 21:02:29 UTC

yeah i believe thats how its done in the PVV

2018-12-04 21:03:14 UTC

but his party has a 1-policy maker though,

the other representatives just have Wilder's policies

2018-12-04 21:03:19 UTC

Hi Dr I was being a smart ass in regards to dutch politics, I choose that cause Gert Wilders international known

2018-12-04 21:03:38 UTC

they're basically just mouthpieces for him

2018-12-04 21:05:17 UTC

@4AM_critter ๐Ÿ‰ do you? you could fix that by saying you can only put up say 4 or 5 candidates. That would force people vote across party lines, meaning they will most likely vote for A) moderates or B) a 3rd or 4th party if they really hate their main rivels.

2018-12-04 21:05:28 UTC

I am trying to explain the electoral system by D'Hondts, a belgian, that is used in most european countries

2018-12-04 21:05:53 UTC

better than me getting Hiliary or Pence elected into an office because my preferred candidate happened to win really well.

2018-12-04 21:07:18 UTC

to me, your system sounds like a bait and switch. A way the Dems could put Bernie at the face and get Hillary into an position of power kind of deal.

2018-12-04 21:08:05 UTC

rather than 7 elected representatives from two parties, you get potentially only 1 elected representative, and 3 or 4 cronies.

2018-12-04 21:09:04 UTC

you think THATS bad?

the previous dutch cabinet was a coalition between
"Business democrats"
and
"The labor party"

cuz people voted both of those in the most, but neither could make a majority

2018-12-04 21:09:14 UTC

so people voted for Right-wingers and ended up with socialists

2018-12-04 21:09:29 UTC

Imagine going to vote for President and you and everyone could chose between Hillary, Bernie, Trump, Bush and others. Would Hillary or Bernie or a third candidate win?
