That for like the past few years leading up to election day 2016, people had bought into the idea that there was a good vs evil battle going on, not just "the lesser evil" as politics usually goes for them but Trump, who not just represented Nazism reborn, House Slythern, etc but all of the toxic online communities they've had to deal with, the "GamerGaters", maybe even a few Bernie Bros who were allegedly mad a woman got the nomination. This was the culmination of all that, like the battle at the Black Gates of Mordor
And then Trump won. If Trump had lost, his supporters would be mad but they wouldn't treat it as if Evil Wom. They'd think HIllary is evil but they also expected the system to be rigged against him. But Trump won, and for Hillary's supporters, this fractured them off into their own reality, where Emperor Palpatine is now in charge. People like us are in a different reality, where Trump won on merit, or even just campaigning in the correct states (which is merit after a fashion).
I can calm us all down.

Back in my day you'd assume it was the religious right would be holding idea of Good vs. Evil in an election.
A lot of people hold ideas of good vs evil, its basic tribalistic instinct.
Some lefties think they're above all that because they love the outsider (immigrants) but they really do have a black and white view on things when you break it down.
Discussions of good vs. evil either belong in religious discussions or to do with pizza toppings. Anything else is going overboard.
