@Mr. Jesus yeah, i like linux, but... shit some linux users really give the OS a bad name

2019-02-09 18:52:14 UTC

Last time I used anything Apple was the 80s

2019-02-09 18:52:30 UTC

But all these old women can't be wrong?!?!

2019-02-09 18:53:05 UTC

Personally, I prefer, SCO Xenix. I was able to hang 32 Wise dumb terminals off a single 8088 computer before Linux was even a dream.

@Aghost I used to use Arch back in about 2005ish and then moved to using OpenBSD for *nix a while ago. A lot of the dev market in the UK is C#, I'd rather do Python dev but there isn't any jobs really.

2019-02-09 18:54:16 UTC

DEBIAN JUST WERKS

2019-02-09 18:54:32 UTC

2019-02-09 18:55:12 UTC

@Mr. Jesus yeah, fuck
im doing programming as well, C#. and my teacher told me that C# is still one of the most popular languages out there
heard they where going to make it available for other OS's as well, tho

2019-02-09 18:55:12 UTC

linux supremecist. no i just dont enjoy fixing my family members bullshit on windows anymore.

2019-02-09 18:55:30 UTC

i cant be supremecist if i use the OS for work

2019-02-09 18:55:35 UTC

C# is nice

2019-02-09 18:55:36 UTC

im forced to use this bullshit

2019-02-09 18:55:45 UTC

because linux involves much less knowledge....

2019-02-09 18:55:52 UTC

pft.

2019-02-09 18:56:05 UTC

tbh when i set them on linux they never ask for shit anymore

2019-02-09 18:56:10 UTC

@Aghost yeah .NET core runs on Linux and MacOS without much effort.

2019-02-09 18:56:25 UTC

Mono, I think it was called.

2019-02-09 18:56:27 UTC

but then again they just use chrome, email, and netflix

2019-02-09 18:56:50 UTC

@devpav Mono is a compatible CLR, but I think Microsoft is pushing everyone to move to .NET core

2019-02-09 18:56:52 UTC

and that's y old women use apple.

2019-02-09 18:57:00 UTC

Thinkpad x320 ๐Ÿค

2019-02-09 18:57:01 UTC

cuz it works for the stupid shit they do.

2019-02-09 18:57:06 UTC

and nothing else

2019-02-09 18:57:10 UTC

Those "dark web scans" are scams, right? The ads for them appear on Hallmark, so it seems like they're preying on old gullible women

2019-02-09 18:57:26 UTC

@Graylan | gray00 they don't ask you again because they don't want to keep changing stuff not because it is better.

2019-02-09 18:57:33 UTC

Seems like bullshit to me

2019-02-09 18:57:40 UTC

yes it is

2019-02-09 18:58:20 UTC

@Mr. Jesus C# makes using .NET easier which makes integration with Microsoft Azure more efficient. The goal is to get you to use Azure. That is Microsoft's cash cow for cloud computing.

2019-02-09 18:58:32 UTC
2019-02-09 18:58:44 UTC

Hmm

2019-02-09 18:58:52 UTC

I just like the syntax fam

2019-02-09 18:58:53 UTC

Lol

2019-02-09 18:59:23 UTC

@Mr. Jesus If you didn't need to use .NET and were not trying to integrate with Azure, I'm not sure I'd prefer C# to regular C++ for application work.

2019-02-09 18:59:29 UTC

I'm working with VBA at work and it's cringey how much i hate the syntax

2019-02-09 19:00:51 UTC

windows is still better for graphics and games. and that wont change until software does... That's a fact. doesnt change the fact it runs like dog shit

2019-02-09 19:00:54 UTC

@CasualSailor Everything is integrated into VS as well.

I normally do DB work and boring Web APIs for payment processing nonsense.

If I am making a small quick Windows app I tend to use (please don't hate me) VB.NET with WinForms.

It depends what you are building

2019-02-09 19:00:58 UTC

Lol

2019-02-09 19:01:07 UTC

Not a second time...

2019-02-09 19:01:13 UTC

2019-02-09 19:01:17 UTC

2019-02-09 19:01:19 UTC

i aint trying to rick roll

2019-02-09 19:01:34 UTC

sorry for calling people idiots. felt attacked im retarded sometimes

2019-02-09 19:01:44 UTC

tim or mod should make a technology room

2019-02-09 19:02:09 UTC

So, windows is better for graphics and games....So, if all you do related to graphics and gaming....Why would you use linux?

2019-02-09 19:02:24 UTC

you wont and they wont

2019-02-09 19:02:25 UTC

you don't

2019-02-09 19:02:39 UTC

So...what's the argument then?

2019-02-09 19:03:14 UTC

Er, Windows is only better than Linux for graphics if the card vendor's Windows driver is better than its Linux driver.

2019-02-09 19:03:37 UTC

Ok. How often is that?

2019-02-09 19:04:00 UTC

@Mr. Jesus No. You've got it exactly right. Languages have their strengths. No reason not to use .NET or WinForms for quick GUIs. You pick the language which fits the project. Why would I choose C for managing Web servers when Python is more efficient. I used to use a lot of Java for web development but I think it is rapidly becoming superflouous.

2019-02-09 19:04:16 UTC

That's my point. It's not an OS feature.

2019-02-09 19:04:37 UTC

right, but it's the practical reason

2019-02-09 19:04:49 UTC

doesn't matter if linux is better if it doesn't work better.

2019-02-09 19:04:53 UTC

I remember when ubuntu was good ๐Ÿคฃ damn I feel old

2019-02-09 19:05:07 UTC

@Unwound Trust that feeling.๐Ÿ˜

2019-02-09 19:05:43 UTC

๐Ÿ˜” i remember how excited I was to get those cube workspaces with compiz

2019-02-09 19:06:20 UTC

Oh yeah. I remember that nonsense.

2019-02-09 19:06:25 UTC

now I can't even get a new phone and be excited ๐Ÿ˜”

2019-02-09 19:06:57 UTC

y u getting new phone?

2019-02-09 19:07:06 UTC

To be spied on more?

2019-02-09 19:07:54 UTC

literally no fucking reason. damn... you are right.

2019-02-09 19:08:06 UTC

it's not really spying if they already know about it

2019-02-09 19:08:15 UTC

more like voyeurism

2019-02-09 19:08:29 UTC

nah, u can knowingly be spied on.

2019-02-09 19:08:39 UTC

that's more exihibitionism

2019-02-09 19:09:31 UTC

heck, every time you leave your house, you are knowingly being spied on.

2019-02-09 19:09:52 UTC

well, if you live in a city...

2019-02-09 19:10:12 UTC

I think spying has to be in secret

2019-02-09 19:10:37 UTC

spying in the sense of spying on someone

2019-02-09 19:10:38 UTC

nope. I think its intent must be hidden, by design and not in practice

2019-02-09 19:11:13 UTC

@Paradox it comes back to open source software and it being more eco to build. when software changes then linux can win. but unitl then people will be inprisoned to DRM games and spyware adware in their paid progs

2019-02-09 19:11:19 UTC

@Paradox yup, going to have to agree with @taekahn . You are being surveilled not spied upon.

2019-02-09 19:11:46 UTC

what im saying is windows dev, like the oS

2019-02-09 19:11:57 UTC

no one is doing it anymore.. they deleted peoples files just recently

2019-02-09 19:12:03 UTC

Well, now that i've sirred the pot, i'm going to disappear for an hour or two.

2019-02-09 19:12:18 UTC

*its what i do*

2019-02-09 19:12:20 UTC

people make programs, sure windows still has like REact js etc.. many new cross platform

2019-02-09 19:12:22 UTC

spy verb
\ หˆspฤซ
\
spied; spying
Definition of spy

(Entry 1 of 2)

transitive verb
1 : to watch secretly usually for hostile purposes
2 : to catch sight of : see
3 : to search or look for intensively โ€”usually used with out spy out places fit for vending โ€ฆ goodsโ€” S. E. Morison

intransitive verb
1 : to observe or search for something : look
2 : to watch secretly as a spy

2019-02-09 19:12:46 UTC

>it's not a secret

2019-02-09 19:12:53 UTC

@Paradox well that is windows 10 for sure. they send copies of private keys to their own stuff

2019-02-09 19:12:56 UTC

>so it's not spying

2019-02-09 19:12:58 UTC

And it doesn't need to be a secret

2019-02-09 19:12:58 UTC

obviously the only defintions that apply are the secret ones

2019-02-09 19:13:01 UTC

@Paradox Yes. Secretly is the key difference. There is nothing secret about it, the cameras hang on posts.

2019-02-09 19:13:04 UTC

See 2 and 3

2019-02-09 19:13:12 UTC

2 doesn't apply

2019-02-09 19:13:14 UTC

don't be obtuse

2019-02-09 19:13:37 UTC

its a completely different use of the word

2019-02-09 19:13:43 UTC

and same with 3

2019-02-09 19:13:53 UTC

@CasualSailor no one has the source code for intel ME so it is secret

2019-02-09 19:14:05 UTC

@Paradox your grammar nazi license has been revoked

2019-02-09 19:14:11 UTC

That's literally the function of cameras, so how does that not apply?

2019-02-09 19:14:28 UTC

because the cameras would have to be hidden?

2019-02-09 19:14:39 UTC

if you can see the cameras, you know you're being watched

2019-02-09 19:14:50 UTC

if you know you're being watched, it's not secret

2019-02-09 19:14:56 UTC

if it's not secret, it's not spying

2019-02-09 19:14:57 UTC

No, they wouldn't. YOu seem to not understanding different usages or meaning, 1 is fine, but it's not the only meaning.

2019-02-09 19:15:53 UTC

No one is saying its the only meaning, but that doesn't mean the word means the same in all contexts

2019-02-09 19:16:00 UTC

like the word obtuse

2019-02-09 19:16:07 UTC

because i called you obtuse, doesn't mean i think you're an angle

2019-02-09 19:16:09 UTC

@Graylan | gray00 Not sure how that is relevant to cameras on posts when you leave your house but I will say as a programmer, I have no problem with DRM. I like being paid for the things I develop and am no fan of people who steal games and other software.

2019-02-09 19:16:16 UTC

God I hate college based tests

2019-02-09 19:16:19 UTC

oh, but the definition of obtuse is an angle.

2019-02-09 19:16:27 UTC

Like I understand most of it but I never have enough time

2019-02-09 19:16:33 UTC

oh, and, I do agree windows 10 is full of spyware, but so are some linux....

2019-02-09 19:16:42 UTC

Huh

2019-02-09 19:16:47 UTC

Ahh shiyet

2019-02-09 19:17:36 UTC

I didnโ€™t even get anything out of getting windows 10, it just meant that I wouldnโ€™t have to have that annoying startup screen that was in windows 8

2019-02-09 19:18:09 UTC

i'm still using 7 and xp, lol.

2019-02-09 19:18:39 UTC

@Paradox Sorry. I didn't mean to start that argument. This is why you don't have semantic debates. They hinge upon you denying what the other person tells you they think a word means. If you equate spying with surveillance then there is no argument.

2019-02-09 19:18:41 UTC

I like that itโ€™s the newer form of the tabs I guess, but Iโ€™d rather have security over some cosmetic item

2019-02-09 19:19:11 UTC

Exactly. And in some cases they do mean the same, in other cases, they do not.

2019-02-09 19:19:46 UTC

@Paradox Yeah. But even if they don't. If YOU think they are synonymous it is pointless for me to argue that YOU don't.

2019-02-09 19:20:22 UTC

For the most part I do.

2019-02-09 19:20:43 UTC

I think the problem with DRM is that once the Right management is broken then you can't use the product you paid for. For example without cracking the game Age of Mythology won't without securerom which has been removed from Windows.

2019-02-09 19:21:03 UTC

That's the problem with semantic debates. You end up arguing over what everyone believes words mean rather than the actual issue being discussed.

2019-02-09 19:21:44 UTC

when there is a genuine misunderstanding of meaning, that's fine, but some ppl just don't like words used a way they don't like.

2019-02-09 19:22:10 UTC

ya know, like saying fags can get married.

2019-02-09 19:22:13 UTC

tim got so much stuff in that podcast.. theres like 20 videos about tim on JREclips ๐Ÿ˜›

2019-02-09 19:23:02 UTC

@Mr. Jesus Well that is part of the contract between buyer and seller. I have to provide a means for you to "validate" your copy if I am no longer going to provide that ability. This is something laws should provide for.

2019-02-09 19:23:20 UTC

@Timcast Some faggot been talking shit about you on a stream, saying you pay girls to go live with you and getting cucked

2019-02-09 19:23:41 UTC

They do it for automobile parts. If a car company goes out of business the specs and molds for replacement parts must be made available to the public so others can make the parts.

2019-02-09 19:24:23 UTC
2019-02-09 19:24:30 UTC

You do have escrow for bespoke stuff. I do think consumer rights is behind the curve on this.

2019-02-09 19:25:30 UTC

@Mr. Jesus Probably so. That's probably because you are purchasing a license to "use" the software rather than the actual software. But the principle is the same if you are no longer able to "use" it.

2019-02-09 19:31:21 UTC

copying isn't stealing, though.

2019-02-09 19:33:05 UTC

@CasualSailor that works out so well that you can't even enjoy the things you paid for with DRM...

2019-02-09 19:33:22 UTC

didn't you know you have to have API connection and when company goes bankrupt they no longer provide API?

2019-02-09 19:33:33 UTC

so what happens to DRM content when the company goes away... Well you dont OWN SHIT

2019-02-09 19:33:45 UTC

when the pirated versions are more functional than the legit versions....lol

2019-02-09 19:33:54 UTC

that's correct today @Paradox

2019-02-09 19:34:03 UTC

anno 2070 go try and play it with no API connection

2019-02-09 19:34:06 UTC

please. ill wait..

2019-02-09 19:34:16 UTC

Then play the pirated anno 2070. oh and you can pirate games if you own them.

2019-02-09 19:34:17 UTC

;D

2019-02-09 19:34:30 UTC

it's still legal grey area, the wont fight.

2019-02-09 19:34:33 UTC

I can pirate them even if I don't.

2019-02-09 19:34:47 UTC

that's why drm is retarded @Paradox

2019-02-09 19:34:52 UTC

and people like @CasualSailor are the sheep

2019-02-09 19:35:09 UTC

"I LOVE DRM SO MUCH I CANT EVEN PLAY THE GAME I SPENT 60 USD ON, IT's GREAT"

2019-02-09 19:35:10 UTC

lulz

2019-02-09 19:35:23 UTC

fuckin cloud hosting lmfao.

2019-02-09 19:35:31 UTC

Yeah.. keep drinking the kool aid

2019-02-09 19:36:10 UTC

ya the copyright stuff is a bit of a messy area

2019-02-09 19:37:16 UTC

on one hand you got greedy's fuckers, on the other side you got other greedy fuckers and in the middle is ppl making shit that should probably make something and ppl using shit that they wouldn't normally.

2019-02-09 19:40:11 UTC

lol programmers are so unedcated it is funny. their companies they work for will go bankrupt with their inability to adapt

2019-02-09 19:40:25 UTC

they dont even see the open source wave coming..

2019-02-09 19:40:30 UTC

it's 10x the dot com bubble

2019-02-09 19:40:36 UTC

just in code not money

2019-02-09 19:41:05 UTC

on the internet it's either adapt/innovate or die

2019-02-09 19:41:19 UTC

"but muh cloud hosting"

2019-02-09 19:42:20 UTC

i call it the free software revolution. shit u cant Stop.. @CasualSailor ๐Ÿ˜‰ get used to giving your code away for free. and you CAN make money with it. i do every month..

2019-02-09 19:42:37 UTC

if you can't make money dont blame a licence blame your shitty failures.

2019-02-09 19:49:22 UTC

has @Paradox admitted that he was wrong yet?

2019-02-09 19:49:25 UTC

'cause he is

2019-02-09 19:49:31 UTC

like 120%

2019-02-09 19:49:36 UTC

also:

2019-02-09 19:49:51 UTC

timcast > tim pool news

2019-02-09 19:54:12 UTC

@Graylan | gray00 I find your claim to receive money for writing software without the software being paid for to be suspect. Perhaps you can explain where the money you receive comes from if not from those who benefit from your labor?

2019-02-09 19:55:13 UTC

๐Ÿ˜ฎ

2019-02-09 19:56:29 UTC

@ส‡ooNส‡ooN Wrong about what?

2019-02-09 19:56:38 UTC

we work with utopian io

2019-02-09 19:56:41 UTC

and they upvote our shit.

2019-02-09 19:56:47 UTC

@Paradox everything TBQH

2019-02-09 19:56:49 UTC

๐Ÿค” hmm

2019-02-09 19:57:00 UTC

Have I made a claim about everything?

2019-02-09 19:57:05 UTC

Btw about mark dice

2019-02-09 19:57:11 UTC

Why do people hate him

2019-02-09 19:57:20 UTC

cuz he is still shilling for patreon

2019-02-09 19:57:21 UTC

@Paradox no, but you will, and you will totes be wrong and stuff

2019-02-09 19:57:27 UTC

that pays for development of software that NO OTHER income would. so it increases the amount of free code in our ecosystem. now what does your closed source cloud offer to empoly development talent from VZ or nigeria? @CasualSailor oh it cant.. that's right.

2019-02-09 19:57:56 UTC

i'm a tad skeptical ๐Ÿค”

2019-02-09 19:58:14 UTC

@Unwound lol the beauty of free code is go read it

2019-02-09 19:58:19 UTC

skeptical? read the shit

2019-02-09 19:58:21 UTC

Just finished Tim on JRE. So proud of my boi ๐Ÿ’œ

2019-02-09 19:58:34 UTC

yyep. tim did good

2019-02-09 19:58:43 UTC

he talked bout it in here a lot past 8 months

2019-02-09 19:58:46 UTC

more than 3-4 times

2019-02-09 19:58:54 UTC

he was def bummed bout the past shit

2019-02-09 19:58:55 UTC

But mark dice fans hate JRE

2019-02-09 19:59:11 UTC

im happy he got in JRE and had that reaction

2019-02-09 19:59:19 UTC

it was prefect literally fuckin perfect timing

2019-02-09 19:59:21 UTC

Do they? I watch both, though, neither are a priority.

2019-02-09 19:59:31 UTC

He did so damn good dudes. He was straight dropping knowledge on Joe for 3 straight hours

2019-02-09 19:59:39 UTC

i believe tim flew to LA twice and joe blew him off previous to that

2019-02-09 19:59:47 UTC

@Graylan | gray00 You are a complete Foss-tard aren't you? Yeh I am going to work for upvotes on Steemit /sarcasm

2019-02-09 19:59:51 UTC

Well done Timmy Boi

2019-02-09 19:59:53 UTC

so him getting on was a fuckin mircale.

2019-02-09 20:00:24 UTC

well it was also in joe's interests, following the backlash he got from the jack show

2019-02-09 20:00:37 UTC

I think he really opened up Joes eyes on how fucked and shady Jack Dorsey is

2019-02-09 20:00:45 UTC

@PaulMac I think I've watched it twice. Tim did a really good job at keeping him on track. Jamie "the swat team was nazis" was hilarious

2019-02-09 20:00:52 UTC

Seeing Tim Pool in any other angle feels weird

2019-02-09 20:00:57 UTC

eh, jamie is a cuck

2019-02-09 20:01:13 UTC

@Mr. Jesus dont then. you wont ever be anything in life anyway with your shit attitudes

2019-02-09 20:01:17 UTC

@Mr. Jesus haha, the YouTube comments shitting on Jamie were hilarious

2019-02-09 20:01:27 UTC

I hope Tim gave Joe a long list of hardball questions to ask Jack next time

2019-02-09 20:01:49 UTC

and steemit isn't steem

2019-02-09 20:01:53 UTC

2019-02-09 20:02:22 UTC

2019-02-09 20:02:35 UTC

for the lulz

2019-02-09 20:02:55 UTC

@Graylan | gray00 ๐Ÿคฃ look mate. People that live in the real world and not in FOSS lala land need to get paid cash money mate. That isn't going to change anytime soon. Taking your anger out on me when I point out that your utopian nonsense of everyone using FOSS stuff and everything magically getting paid for by some rando website based on what looks like to be nothing other than buzzwords is pretty entertaining.

2019-02-09 20:02:56 UTC

steam adapted linux early and they have a in road to foss and other shit to put their closed source on top or maybe they do crypto things

2019-02-09 20:02:56 UTC

getting the gab and minds guy, he mentioned

2019-02-09 20:03:19 UTC

@Mr. Jesus yea and our eth went from 0.01 to 1400usd

2019-02-09 20:03:22 UTC

i think we are fine

2019-02-09 20:03:44 UTC

we have plenty , and profits.

2019-02-09 20:04:59 UTC

oh wait what? BTC ATM pay out usd .. no way https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=19tVcU4rZrU

2019-02-09 20:05:15 UTC

Joe needs to have Gavin Mcinnes and Milo on again

2019-02-09 20:05:21 UTC

ya, but I'd have to travel on an airplane to use one...

2019-02-09 20:05:26 UTC

nty

2019-02-09 20:05:56 UTC

ive said it before and ill say it again. crypto can be used to employ freedom or to enslave people.

2019-02-09 20:06:14 UTC

then what's it matter?

2019-02-09 20:06:24 UTC

No different really.

2019-02-09 20:09:02 UTC

@Graylan | gray00 You can deflect all you want mate. At the end end someone needs to pay for dev and the people that pay for "open source" are the big tech companies. Whether that is in crypto or whatever it doesn't matter someone needs to pay. It doesn't happen by magic.

2019-02-09 20:09:57 UTC

@Mr. Jesus if that were true linux wouldnt exist.

2019-02-09 20:10:10 UTC

linux is a mix of corp and independent dev

2019-02-09 20:10:41 UTC

im just saying yes you can build things FOSS and earn money.

2019-02-09 20:11:19 UTC

@Graylan | gray00 Almost all of Linux dev is now paid for by big tech companies. The only reason Linux ever took off was because BSD & the AT & T case made adopting BSD legally risky.

2019-02-09 20:11:21 UTC

why would microsoft make a video about our technology?

2019-02-09 20:11:32 UTC

why would cloudflare write the blog post?

2019-02-09 20:11:40 UTC

why not

2019-02-09 20:11:40 UTC

why would stanford host the talk?
