The only problem I can think of there is potential power problems over SATA

2018-01-05 02:41:44 UTC

BUY RIPPLE/XRP

2018-01-05 02:41:53 UTC

now

2018-01-05 02:43:00 UTC

I just got a notification on my phone, NY Times published an article about it

2018-01-05 02:43:37 UTC

and how some major holders of XRP have temporarily become more rich than Mark Zuckerberg

2018-01-05 03:52:45 UTC

Lol

2018-01-05 08:28:25 UTC

wtf is going on in this thread?

2018-01-05 09:16:21 UTC

we're learning to be jews

2018-01-05 14:44:58 UTC

@Fevs

Thanks for the reply. I found out I have the right risers. It's the power cables I'm missing. The 1080TIs use an 8 pin PCIe and a 6 pin auxiliary PCIe

2018-01-05 17:57:28 UTC

When Justin Sun makes his partnership announcements next week, be prepared for TRX to make another huge leap. Depending on who the partners are, I wouldn't be surprised if it reaches $1 per coin by end of Jan.

Got my mining rig put together. She goes online tonight.

EVGA 1600W

2018-01-11 15:25:17 UTC

The PSU was friggin' $419. Better not let me down.

2018-01-11 15:25:45 UTC

My luck I'll plug it in and cause a massive blackout in my neighborhood

2018-01-11 15:27:29 UTC

1600W, jesus christ yeah

2018-01-11 15:27:37 UTC

Stayed up way too late putting it all together. The frame took the longest to build because I wanted to measure out the height of the GPU as it rested in the PCIe riser so they didn't lean at all.

2018-01-11 15:27:38 UTC

I'm running a Corsair 850i

2018-01-11 15:27:51 UTC

You've got like double my wattage lul

2018-01-11 15:28:00 UTC

What cards are those again?

2018-01-11 15:29:14 UTC

Reason I went with the 1600 is because each GPU requires 220w minimum and I wanted to have a little more wattage available as a buffer for when I overclock the GPUs

2018-01-11 15:29:33 UTC

They are GTX 1080TIs

2018-01-11 15:31:45 UTC

How much was the entire rig if you don't mind me asking?

2018-01-11 15:31:54 UTC

And when did you buy the 1080s?

2018-01-11 15:33:34 UTC

Bought the 1080s the day after Christmas.

Entire rig cost was $5114

2018-01-11 15:34:14 UTC

Christ, you're making $50 a day with some coins with that setup

2018-01-11 15:34:45 UTC

You mining yet?

2018-01-11 15:35:35 UTC

There's a very very ugly URL for you lol

2018-01-11 15:38:34 UTC

Not mining yet. I stayed up til midnight getting the frame built and all parts plugged in and situated properly. I still have to install Linux on the SSD and install the wireless adapter. Then I will start benchmarking.

2018-01-11 15:39:02 UTC

What do you mean by benchmarking?

2018-01-11 15:39:26 UTC

If you have to ask...

2018-01-11 15:39:31 UTC

You cant afford it....

2018-01-11 15:39:47 UTC

Lol no idea just being a fuck

2018-01-11 15:42:14 UTC

I'm going to benchmark the rig using NiceHash and other miners to see what I can get. I trust whattomine, but I like finding out for myself.

2018-01-11 15:43:39 UTC

Nicehash has a good benchmarking function that takes about 20 minutes. Very precise. It squeezes as much hashing power as it can from your setup and modifies its config file to mine the most profitable coin at the time, then adjusts accordingly as it mines.

2018-01-11 15:45:43 UTC

The only thing I will change on my next build is the motherboard. This one is top of the line, but it is designed to support 13 GPUs. I don't need that since I cannot use more than six 1080TIs on one rig due to the required wattage

2018-01-11 15:46:49 UTC

If I had a bunch of 1060s, I'd probably swap it out and use them on this motherboard since the 1060 uses far less wattage and I could use all 13 gpu ports

2018-01-11 15:54:54 UTC

Gotcha that makes sense

2018-01-11 17:53:29 UTC

Question. I have an extra 1080TI that I do not have a power cord for. It takes a 8 pin and a 6 pin auxiliary. Would it hurt the card to use an 8 pin power cord and an additional 6 pin power cord plugged into the auxiliary, both using separate VGA ports on my power supply?

2018-01-11 17:58:23 UTC

I don't understand the question

2018-01-11 18:02:05 UTC

So a 1080TI card has two power ports. One requires an 8 pin and the other is an auxiliary power port that is also required. See here:

https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/396504026210107393/401073297657430026/geforce-gtx-1080-ti-pci-e-power-connectors.jpg

2018-01-11 18:02:39 UTC

My power supply came with 5 power cords that have a six pin and an eight pin on one end, and the other end plugs into my power supply.

2018-01-11 18:03:19 UTC

The power supply also came with 3 power cords that have just an 8 pin on the end, no 6 pin.
It also came with 3 power cords that have just a 6 pin on the end, no 8 pin.

2018-01-11 18:03:54 UTC

So my question is, since I am one cord short, would it damage my card if I used two cords, one 6 pin and one 8 pin, and plugged them both into the card and into my power supply.

2018-01-11 18:04:29 UTC

I'm 90% confident that it won't damage it by overdrawing power, but I just want to see if anyone has any extra information just in case

2018-01-11 18:10:14 UTC

I'm pretty sure that if the cords fit into the holes it'll work

2018-01-11 18:28:07 UTC

@here
Okay everyone. Just got off the phone with NVIDIA support. Turns out that you can indeed connect two separate power cords to a 1080TI in order to power it without damaging your card. Just sharing for future reference.

2018-01-11 18:31:15 UTC

Thank you, @Jossur Surtrson . The first "everyone" post I've seen that's actually _useful. LOL

Then call your bank and tell them it isn't fraud, then do it again

2018-01-17 21:17:27 UTC
2018-01-17 21:17:35 UTC

do it on any browser or Tor?

2018-01-17 21:17:46 UTC

Regular is fine

2018-01-17 21:18:02 UTC

are there minimums?

2018-01-17 21:18:14 UTC

and how do you gague its value?

2018-01-17 21:18:16 UTC

If you want to do day trading though, don't buy Bitcoin. The transfer fees are ridiculous right now

2018-01-17 21:18:17 UTC

whats the best starting amount?

2018-01-17 21:18:23 UTC

i need tips and tricks if they exist

2018-01-17 21:18:38 UTC

see idk what day trading even is

2018-01-17 21:18:43 UTC

i need to get schooled on this heavy

2018-01-17 21:19:06 UTC

Day trading is using an exchange to trade various other coins

2018-01-17 21:19:20 UTC

That's more complicated and not a good idea right now

2018-01-17 21:20:37 UTC

But yeah, I just started with $100

2018-01-17 21:20:46 UTC

i was thinking that too

2018-01-17 21:20:46 UTC

100

2018-01-17 21:20:53 UTC

but its not a good idea rn?

2018-01-17 21:20:58 UTC

how do you gague/tell?

2018-01-17 21:21:28 UTC

Doing the day trading is bad right now because all the altcoins are going down

2018-01-17 21:21:33 UTC

But they'll recover

2018-01-17 21:21:53 UTC

Just have to learn to recognize the patterns

2018-01-17 21:27:50 UTC

would you recommend even adding any bitcoin atm?

2018-01-17 21:27:55 UTC

or hold off

2018-01-17 21:38:12 UTC

I haven't checked prices lately

2018-01-17 22:16:40 UTC

I think it's a good time to buy.

2018-01-17 22:17:23 UTC

We're in a dip, I think everything will go up again.

2018-01-17 22:17:29 UTC

Dips happen.

2018-01-17 22:18:10 UTC

I would buy now, wait a couple weeks and sell.

2018-01-17 22:18:24 UTC

Watch the prices of course.

2018-01-17 22:20:14 UTC

How does one watch the prices ?

2018-01-17 22:24:08 UTC

You can view prices on a Crypto exchange.

2018-01-17 22:24:14 UTC

Like Coinbase or Binance.

2018-01-17 22:34:33 UTC

I got set up on binance last week, theyre accepting new accounts again. App is very easy on the eyes

2018-01-17 22:35:06 UTC

I like Binance for trading. I use Coinbase to cash out.

2018-01-17 22:36:36 UTC

Yeah thats what i plan on using, but i got in last week lol so everythings down and gotta wait a bit before i think about cashing anything out

2018-01-17 22:36:46 UTC

I feel ya.

2018-01-17 22:36:59 UTC

there's a couple coins I'm holding right now.

2018-01-17 22:37:36 UTC

All i got for now is appcoin and some binance coin

2018-01-18 00:03:51 UTC

This website is good for watching coin prices

https://www.worldcoinindex.com

2018-01-18 00:17:41 UTC

https://coinmarketcap.com Is another good site for watching prices.

2018-01-18 00:32:54 UTC

I hate coinmarketcap, cuz they are the ones who tanked the crypto prices, by taking Korean exchanges off their list without any notification

2018-01-18 05:07:43 UTC

im holding ripple, ltc, monero, ethereum, and some small holdings in others.

2018-01-18 05:08:08 UTC

i think if you bought pretty much anythign yesterday or today, you're golden

2018-01-18 14:16:06 UTC

Anyone running the latest version of NiceHash (2.0.1.8), beware the Nist5 algorithm. It seems to be a new one they just added to NiceHash and its payout is extremely low.

2018-01-18 22:27:44 UTC

Im holding ethereum and Tron...Tron's finally going back up (been able to make some money doing day-trading with it, too).

2018-01-18 22:29:24 UTC

My shitcoins are going back up too

2018-01-18 22:29:30 UTC

CND is up 94% today

2018-01-18 22:29:51 UTC

2018-01-18 22:30:23 UTC

when they were cheap and easy to mine

2018-01-18 22:30:36 UTC

I sold them all when they hit 100 dollars

2018-01-18 22:30:44 UTC

lmao

2018-01-18 22:30:48 UTC

That makes me sad

2018-01-18 22:30:49 UTC

I have about 0.01

2018-01-18 22:31:01 UTC

lmao I buy that much once a week almost

2018-01-18 22:31:05 UTC

just to get stuff off the net

2018-01-18 22:31:21 UTC

I mine more than that with my single mining rig which isn't even fully built yet

2018-01-18 22:31:37 UTC

I hope you guys make a lot of money with your rigs

2018-01-18 22:32:06 UTC

I've not worked a job and I've lived on my own since 17. I'm 22 now and paying for college with just bitcoin and rent and all that

2018-01-18 22:32:13 UTC

I just use my gaming rig to mine XMR and XDN when I'm not using it

2018-01-18 22:32:18 UTC

I paid my rent in the past with it as well

2018-01-18 22:32:27 UTC

Lmao why those shitty coins

2018-01-18 22:32:28 UTC

I'm making money like a Jew

2018-01-18 22:32:34 UTC

ZCASH you can make easy

2018-01-18 22:32:44 UTC

because they're easy to mine without any fancy rig

2018-01-18 22:32:46 UTC

2018-01-18 22:32:54 UTC

2018-01-18 22:33:27 UTC

2018-01-18 22:33:37 UTC

2018-01-18 22:33:40 UTC

really? Well shit

2018-01-18 22:33:45 UTC

2018-01-18 22:34:11 UTC

2018-01-18 22:34:20 UTC

yeah but I only have one

2018-01-18 22:34:25 UTC

not like 6

2018-01-18 22:34:31 UTC

ok but still that's enough for 270 buck s a month

2018-01-18 22:34:40 UTC

in one month you can buy another one with just that

2018-01-18 22:34:41 UTC

BOOM

2018-01-18 22:34:42 UTC

huh, minergate can do zcash too

2018-01-18 22:34:48 UTC

I only have 1 rn, my others coming

2018-01-18 22:34:58 UTC

and I have a third coming after that in march

2018-01-18 22:35:06 UTC

idk minergate

2018-01-18 22:35:27 UTC

lets you mine a whole bunch of coins

2018-01-18 22:35:28 UTC

I use GUIless miners built specifically for 1060s and zcash

2018-01-18 22:35:43 UTC

its not the greatest but so easy its retard proof

2018-01-18 22:35:44 UTC

I make 20% more with this optimised program than normal zcash miner

2018-01-18 22:36:08 UTC

so is mining normally

2018-01-18 22:36:12 UTC

you just point it to your wallet

2018-01-18 22:36:14 UTC

set location

2018-01-18 22:36:21 UTC

set gpus and cpu threads

2018-01-18 22:36:24 UTC

and boom done

2018-01-18 22:37:01 UTC

Bro I had 3 coins in oct I sold them

2018-01-18 22:37:05 UTC

Im super pissed about that

2018-01-18 22:37:20 UTC

If I held on two months I'd have fucking literally 8x

2018-01-18 22:37:51 UTC

solo or pool?

2018-01-18 22:38:19 UTC

pooled

2018-01-18 22:38:28 UTC

I pool with my stepdad who has a farm

2018-01-18 22:38:33 UTC

I'm building mine up

2018-01-18 22:38:38 UTC

I got investors

2018-01-18 22:38:46 UTC

not much

2018-01-18 22:38:50 UTC

ok, what should I do

2018-01-18 22:38:52 UTC

but enough for another 1060

2018-01-18 22:39:35 UTC

I offer 15% return on investment once the GPU breaks even you get all the cash back plus 15%, then you get half the bitcoin it mines past that, yet you dont do any work, dont pay for electricity, dont monitor it, dont do all that stuff

2018-01-18 22:39:59 UTC

I offer it as an amazing deal to other Aryans who want to get into it but don't mine themselves

2018-01-18 22:40:13 UTC

banks can only offer a 3% max return on investment lmao

2018-01-18 22:40:20 UTC

I just hope no jew finds out and snitches

2018-01-18 22:41:35 UTC

this minergate isnt so bad

2018-01-18 22:42:24 UTC

you just put your email address in and hit Start Mining

2018-01-18 22:42:38 UTC

It's giving good hash on my CPU for coins

2018-01-18 22:42:40 UTC

its probably not the most efficient, but like I said retard proof

2018-01-18 22:42:47 UTC

I like I can select some coins that dont have cudas yet

2018-01-18 22:42:59 UTC

2018-01-18 22:43:05 UTC

2018-01-18 23:13:10 UTC
