Do you have a real reason to suspect your partner is going to go apeshit over this?
She went apeshit before
That is what I thought
it would be awfully bad if I lose my sec clearance over this.
Oh
shit
thats why I am asking.
Are you in a field that requires an enhanced disclosure? Yea, you can't even have a driving arrest within x number of time to stay employed...
Well fuck, that changes things. Getting accused normally isn't a huge problem if you can convince the prosecutor it is a waste of time, which a mic should be rather sufficient at
If you have to avoid even arrest
well
@InsaneCaterpilla well, good standing and trustworthy to be trusted by the government.
It's probably much the same. I know how it works in the UK because I'm starting a security job next year, but idk the US
its one of those military sec clearance
Speaking of apeshit, she says she is pregnant, I don't trust her if she is telling the truth or just a ruse. So I am waiting until she comes back to find out.
I don't know anything about security clearances in any country. But if you judge that you really, really need to avoid accusation, as opposed to having a good divorce outcome, that changes your priorities a bit. And...oh hell
Oof, that would suck if she is... Is it likely?
no idea. Last time was middle oct, and we used a rubber
I feel like she is full of shit, but the confidence she has now is off putting
Have you been giving signs that you wanna break up? That's when most women would say such a thing to try and keep together, I believe
Yeah.
sep/div eventually
Well let's hope its a lie mate. If its not what do you plan to do?
I'm beginning to feel this is complicated enough, and also early enough that calling up an authority on the subject from the MRM might be useful. Does the NCFM handle advice on this sort of thing? Because of the child and the ambiguous nature of it state-specific stuff might come into play.
(National coalition for men) just fyi
ok.
Well, I got no choice. She is batshit crazy and I cant progress in my career because of her
You can't right now or if she makes an accusation?
Kavanaugh was still appointed right?
well, if she is telling the truth,
if she is telling the truth, I still go on the separation/divorce process
if she is lying, I still go on the same process.
Does NCFM have a phone line or something?
There are at least some emails https://ncfm.org/lead-with-us/chapters/
But NCFM seems slightly more related to discrimination stuff
Rather than specifically divorce and fathers stuff
So I'm trying to find a better source
But I know Crouch and co did do stuff with this once upon a time
Oof, searching for the NCFM is a pain in the ass, apparently it stands for some kind of exam too
Im gonna consult with lawyers in the meantime, she is coming on Friday. I have a bug out bag to go. I'll get a recorder tomorrow. I just wish my employer didn't let me go tho. It would have made this process much easier.
:< I'm sorry mate, sympathise with you. People shouldn't have the ability to change someone else's life in such dramatic ways so easily
Yeah, I gotta wait until next year mid Jan, when hiring picks up.
If it wasn't for the security clearance stuff and the maybe baby I think this'd be pretty simple to give advice, but as it is I think there are some pretty careful lines to go about dealing with both, the latter of which may be SC specific.
And concerning the pregnancy it'd be really nice to hear specifically from an MRM guy as to what to do to prepare.
MRM?
Men's Rights Movement
Mens rights movement
Any of them on or to call?
Sorry that wasn't really for me to answer
np Caterpilla. I'm trying to find a specific person who deals in stuff like this, but my knowledge of the MRM isn't quite broad enough
At very least the NCFM people would know who to call
but might be a bit annoyed if I missed something easy to google
@RandyLahey we are the MRM. That's the point of this discord mate
The MRM is made up of many communities
yeah.
After this shitshow, I need to be more red pill awared
She had a leash on me the entire time; I couldn't figure out how to get out until she went back home temporarily
Sounds like you're a victim of domestic abuse :<
I was a Beta
transitioning to alpha atm since I lost everything.
Oof, I don't associate much with terms such as alpha or beta. Not my thing. Everyone's different and everyone likes different things in people is the way I see it.
ok. I think I used the wrong words.
But if it makes you feel better to be a certain way then more power to you
I was blue pill before.
@InsaneCaterpilla Nah, I appreciate it. I need to be focused right now.
But, its true. The situation is overly complicated. A lot of context is left out.
I just mean, there's nothing wrong with if you see it as self improvement. That's always a worthy goal to adhere to, to better yourself, and if you feel you have then it's something to be proud of
I posted this a while back. https://tinyurl.com/ycl38zhc
@InsaneCaterpilla I appreciate it. I lost a lot of opportunity because of this relationship
a lot of money too
Okeydoke, so my advice in the absence of me or Caterpilla having anyone to contact is to contact the NCFM, just to say "hi, I'm planning to separate from a bad relationship, I'm in South Carolina, she's vindicative, there's a possible pregnancy, and I really want to keep my security clearance. I'm not sure if you are the right people to contact, but who should I be talking to in order to get basic advice of what to do about these things, other than a lawyer?". Using the resources from https://ncfm.org/lead-with-us/chapters/. It seems the contact points would be 888-223-1280 or [email protected].
but you mostly have good advice already
It may be considered evil to a lot of people, but I'm a firm believer in a universal living wage, that simply living your life shouldn't mean you have to work, not on a base level
from the reddit thread and stuff
Yeah, I need to consult with a lawyer on this one bigly.
You should definitely, and its good to try and find one who specialises in these kind of issues, divorce lawyers for men have a lot of experience in what to expect
@InsaneCaterpilla it might come at some point. I am a firm believer that my spouse should work. It has not come yet.
In today's world she should. What I meant was to speak of a future world where we rely on automation to solve our problems
I know what you meant. No problem.
the last lawyer I met a while back divorced as well.
All he said was to throw money at her and leave.
wasn't great advice.
Definitely not good advice at all, your ex can still indenture you to pay through alimony (and possibly child support if she really is pregnant)
That's the thing, finding a trustworthy lawyer to find for this sort of thing is something I'd be super worried about.
I dont think alimony comes into play here
Are you married?
It sure does
we have been married for 1 year
wasnt long at all
We are in our mid 20s
Idk what the laws for marriage duration for alimony are in NC
10 years
in sC
SC, sorry
A brief look at an SC lawyers website says alimony will be less of a thing for shorter marriage, it does not say anything about alimony having a cutoff
its usually half the duration of a marriage
so in my case 6 months
or 1 year including the separation
If you haven't decided on a lawyer yet, that'd be another good reason to reach out to the NCFM, if you don't have a recommendation for some lawyer, they'd likely have some.
Oh, nice, that sounds rather merciful
