Having been to marches I can say that it matches the people I've met. Most are nice normal people. People aren't afraid to say what they think.

and there are definitely strong opinions but for the most part people are fairly mixed in a good way.

Well I looked into Zonta lately and they are just as feminist as the rest of them, took me a while to find the page for that program, the birthing kits where basically blankets, antibiotics, antiseptics and a few other things like formula, stuff like that, it was a while ago now.

She's probably one of the oldest people training in the country, and my Dad has helped a lot by going to meetings and seeing the bulshit they've pullled

It seems to be a systemic thing though. One hospital is bad luck, two is a pattern. My ex GF was also training to be a midwife but quit because of the bullying and when there was a national story a few months back about a major incident in a london hospital that happened due to miscommunication I would say it's leaning towards a systemic issue

These investigations should hopefully help put a dent in the issue though

Well spending time in hospitals you could see it wasn’t good, the nurses get really bitchy with each other with head nurse usually being the worst

There seems to be a lot of corruption in caretaking in general, there's a lot of elder abuse in old folks' homes as well

Did I ever tell you about the time where the nurses gave me dirty looks when I cleaned my dads balls for him because no one was cleaning him... also bringing him clean undies every week gets expensive because no one would help him wipe his bum

Well when we tried to tell child support that I had been kicked out of home, they wouldn’t listen, so they called my mum and she told them I was welcome home whenever, so they only called back to tell us that child support had to continue, I didn’t get a say, they told me over the phone that “they don’t get the children involved”... I was 17 at the time.

I wouldn't want to go home to someone so conniving. That's awful, is everything okay nowadays?

She was an abusive alcoholic so I wasn’t going back, lol

And yeah, things can still be rough, money and my dads health the usual issues, but things are getting much better

I wasn’t an easy kid either, turns out I had ADHD but was miss diagnosed with a bunch of other shit, so I acted out a lot, by the time I was kicked out my mental state was just trash, like... rolling around on the floor kicking and screaming kind of mental, dad was patient and kind, was slow but I was able to heal, even when I kicked him in the face so hard his glasses broke, turns out I really needed my dad.

I had a lot of medical issues growing up. Embarrassing birth defects so I'd have lots of accidents when I was young. I ended up blaming it on her. It's not anyone's fault really but it was just pretty shitty all round.

It’s hard to grow up with any kind of condition, for anyone, and it can be tough on parents but that is not an excuse to FUCKING HIT YOUR KIDS!

Or throw pick them up and slam them repeatedly into the the wall. That one's hard to forget.

I agree, I think it’s a good sub but men’s rights subs have been deleted in the past as will as there being a lot of misinformation about what we are really about going round, so is good to air on the side of caution

It's difficult... on one hand, you need some strong moderation to keep it on track, but on the other hand you sorta need that dialogue going on and to hear a dissenting voice is healthy.

The risk is definitely there mind you, the more the movement comes from negativity the more problematic it becomes - think it's hard to both point out inequalities as well as inspire without having a pretty curated front page.

She does so, HR backs her up about the reasons why it's needed, they get installed in every bathroom... I'm so tempted to tell the feminist cunt that an MRA got female sanitary bags installed in all the bathrooms (we have a ton of single person gender neutral ones). lol
