So, Windows or Apple?
Windows *I say as I type on my iPhone*
no
Apple is far easier for the casual, non-technical user to use. It's more or less push-button technology. But if something goes wrong, Heaven help you.
Windows is more complicated, and takes some actual practice getting the hang of. It's more flexible, though, allowing you to change things more readily and customize to fit your personal needs. If something goes wrong, it's often fixable by the user.
Short of my phone, that IS nice for some purposes, I enjoy my windows products.
I've used both professionally. Windows is my choice for use in my home life.
(Having said that....I'm using my own OS...)
Windows and apple, both have their uses. I like windows because it has more games ^.^
I like Windows more because I know how to work it on a PC.
windows is kinda messy for me
but it works
if you need it for work/school then go apple but if you are a gamer then windows its the way to go over all i like windows for every thing but i do ave 1000s of hs on it so
The real question is Intel or AMD for gaming :o
I have intel... ๐
Donโt know where to put this but Iโm accepting responses on what I should say.
Hi Alex! I will be voting for Trump in person on November 3rd! I am excited to vote because... and most of all to defeat Joe Biden, who I feel really isnโt fit for office! So no, I donโt have any questions about voting! Have a nice day ๐บ๐ธ
Lol you donโt have to use as many exclamation points as I did ๐
I'd put "I wasn't sure about whom to vote for, but messages like this feel a lot like voter manipulation. I'll vote for Trump."
Lol nice
dont you just love it when you spend 3 hours trying to change ur pfp only to realize the only reason its not changing is bcs you forgot to convert your photoshop file to png?
@Froski Linux. I only use windows for gaming and apple is not allowed in my house.
I was wondering if anybody would bring up Linux...
I run kali for the most part. Its been my everyday OS since 2017
I say screw it and modify my apple computer to play windows games lol
Best of both worlds
I also figured out how to downgrade it from Catalina because it wouldnโt let me play 32 bit games anymore
Virtual machines people
I got a 1050ti from a friend not too long ago
VMs are good for most purposes. I dont use VMs because the host OS always reverts back to the original mac address. All commands filter through the host machine before the VM. Quite a pain with wifi dongles.
Ive since started using a raspberry pi as my naughty machine. Cheap enough I can ditch it without breaking the bank, powerful enough to brute force a hash within reasonable time frames, and small enough to keep on my person while collecting handshakes
I like this setup even though airflow is nonexistent
Airflow?
whats that
we dont need no cooling
I want to also get a modern looking case and do a windows 98 build
That's like a sleeper build.. you should take it to a coffee shop and set it up ๐
I still have a handful of old 486's in storage.
my printer keeps giving me an error message saying error 11
How them crypto wallets doing goys
BTC and ETH both getting upgrades. Buy now before we go to moon ๐
Homescreen setup ๐บ๐ฒ๐บ๐ฒ
For those of you like me who only use Linux, what's your experience with Steam Proton/WINE for gaming? In general I've had good experiences with only a few games plain not working and some having weird bugs that were annoying but not game breaking.
Technology should keep going crazy
I love the Mac
I tried Proton, but my favorite games are Ubisoft Tom Clancy games. None of them worked. So I went back to Windows.
But I use WSL2 to do my job every day.
if im not wrong, you need other programs on mac to run games like siege
PayPal to open up network to cryptocurrencies | Reuters
https://www.reuters.com/article/paypal-cryptocurrency-int-idUSKBN2762D5
BTC hit 12800$ this morning all other alt coin is up too . We go to moon frens ๐๐
ooh
Never understand why anyone would think about using PayPal, if they're already in crypto. Companies like PayPal are the problem crypto was meant to solve.
BTC is 13.2k now! The bull run is happening. Elite buying in, the bretonwood meeting, and the graphs. All crypto is about to jump. HOLD no trading! Wait 5 years and then thank me๐๐
@user_zero PayPal will be a bridge. Not the best but main stream enough to get Normies in. Chain link and Ripple will be the leaders in trading currency in the future
That's fine, if getting the normies in, is the goal. That's why I kind of turned my back on crypto. The original goal, aligned more with freedom, rather than another banker controlled tool, which is why I believe they like ripple so much.
Monero was the last one I was looking into, to carry what bitcoin originally had potential for..not sure where they sit now.
I get u though.. definitely $$ to be had. Just feel as though i'd be making it off something bad for our country.
https://pcpartpicker.com/user/goldenegle/saved/pKmjZL This is a custom build I am probably going to be doing soonish, the only part I really need is the 3080 GPU as all the other parts I have readily available just laying around my office ๐
$4,552 give or take $200. With a 4k monitor, easy to clean keyboard, a decent mouse that won't break easy ๐
plus about $800 of it is just storage for prints and backups.
the other issue is I want to put Linux, Mac, and Windows on it. Getting Mac software can be difficult on a new computer, unless you have a copy of it, or an old mac to transfer from.
whoa.... knotty that is a crazy build...
My nuclear reactor came in today lol
im sorry, what?
oh shit an FX is it the 8core? and are you going to overclock it to oblivion?
You bet I am!
hell yea
you gonna try to hit 8k or better?
This 9590 is going to be under a 240mm aio
break that record?
Lol no
I donโt have LN2
I think the clock record is still held by that same exact CPU
at like 8,893 ghz or something nuts
I know itโs above 8
Yeah
I OC'd my threadripper to 4.0 and use a tank cooler to keep it cold enough
to not melt the motherboard
Nice lol
almost need a car radiator for the damn thing it is so hot
I had to do a literal cooling block and retro fit it front and back with heat tape to keep dew from forming on the outside of the cooling block and mobo
Get the Blowymatron that J2C has haha
it is so bad man
Oof
took some cleaver engineering and machining but I got it ๐
I should shoot a picture of it sometime.
This cpu is going into my windows xp build haha
I'm not sure where to put this one but I thought this was the best place to put it unless there is some other place I can put it
linux man
Linux is the superior kernel for an OS
I just wish that more games were supported on it because it is a much better OS than windows
At least it has Super Tux Kart lol
Have you tried Steam Proton? Its steams game optimized WINE and works well with a surprising number of my game backlog. The changes that make are also usually pushed upstream to the main WINE fork.
That said I do agree with your sentiment that I wish more my games were Linux native which is why I have only bought a few games over the last few years. Of those I bought, I prefer to buy off GOG. That way I'm not locked into steam for games and actually own the game.
steam proton rules, for almost any game, other than ones with draconian anticheat that doesnt even stop cheaters
