How can it be called "self-help" if not all "selves" are the same? How many times do you have to work-out to alleviate anxiety before you start building up tolerances to the amount of times that you work out in order to fend of anxiety? I think the basics: sleep 7.5-9 hours at consistent fall/wake times, drink x amount of water, eat vegetables/healthy fats, exercise at least 3 hours a week, lift heavy things, learn something new every day or otherwise challenge yourself; are all good basics.
